In Chrono Cross, Schala/the Time Devourer can be defeated the conventional way, but doing so gets you the bad ending. If you perform a much more complicated and very specific sequence of actions, however, you are able to defeat the final boss by sparing Schala's life, and this gets you the good ending. Weird, this concept sounds awfully familiar for some reason...

As usual the amount of detail you put into music is incredible and I always find my mind wandering off with small little melodies between the main melody itself before coming back to it... I will say I think the trumpet was out of place even though I usually love your unusual instrument choices. But I still loved it, thanks for cheering up a shit morning.

Fantastic job on this! I share your disappointment in Dream Devourer not getting its own song, and I think a mix of Schala's theme is perfect for the desperation of the situation at hand.
At first i thought it was just another Schala's theme, then the tempo kicked up and i somehow knew i was in for a treat. This, quite simply, now my favorite remix or rendition of Schala's theme, or Dream devourer. I am quite sad that i am only just now finding this, but glad i finally did. Amazing work, my friend!

This is definitely the final battle theme where *_'Eternal Darkness'_* does a 1-hit K.O. move like it was always intended and meant to be and Schala is finally freed at the hands of Magus and company.
CORE's design is based on Ocean Palace too. This game inspired Undertale. Chrono Trigger is good in its way, same with Undertale. They shouldn't be compared.

An Undertale song is called “But the Earth Refused to Die”, which is a clear homage to “But the future refused to change”, the iconic game over quote from Chrono Trigger. Seeing as Toby has used Chrono Trigger instruments in both Undertale and Deltarune, it’s much less of a stretch than you think.

So I have absolutely no idea how I didn't realize the world revolving was named similarly to world revolution, but I don't think they sound that much alike? But megalovania and megalomania are kinda similar? Huh.
Schala's theme works surprisingly well as boss music! This would definitely fit just as well for the Dream Devourer battle as "World Revolution" does.

An Undertale song is called “But the Earth Refused to Die”, which is a clear homage to “But the future refused to change”, the iconic game over quote from Chrono Trigger. Seeing as Toby has used Chrono Trigger instruments in both Undertale and Deltarune, it’s much less of a stretch than you think.
