CSC San Gabriel SG-250 owner, here. Got my bike a few weeks ago because of the 26 inch seat height.
I was hoping your video would make for an interesting comparison.
With some scripting and editing, you could take your production quality to the next level. This video is raw in flavor. Which has some quaint charm, but has a way to go if a person wants FortNine level entertainment.

Great commuter bike, that's probably 80% of the 6k miles on mine. Never had a chain issue, I had them install the upgrade before it was shipped and seems to be a-ok

Have you tried changing the position of the air mixture screw inside the carb? Supposedly moving it up or down from the mid-point helps the bike run better. The popping is directly related to the air/fuel mixture based on your altitude.

My understanding is it a highly modified Honda cg125 clone. This one is 229cc and has an added countershaft. Rock solid
