I wish Kaen was bigger and his transformation was better. They really dropped the ball on the last and most pivotal one.
Moon studio Raiden is clearly superior in every way
Takara didn't go for the robot aesthetic but on the train models instead.

Totally agree. I chose the Moon Studio version over this, and I am relieved I did. I would even argue the trains are nicer, even though they aren't to scale with the model train standard. They actually scale better with the Legends Class Transformers figures and look so accurate to the cartoon it's scary. Takara tried to do too much and failed on every front, in my opinion.
The lazy eyebrow reviewer is just going to disintegrate like a damn vampire when he sees how much these don't scale with each other

Seriously, if you placed HasLab Unicron in front of him, he’d probably start nitpicking that his planet mode is too small and makes Pluto look like Jupiter and that the robot mode should be at least 70 feet taller
Actually all of these trains are perfectly HO scale search not only scale with each other individually but also scale with hundreds of other trains frequently bought by collectors, it's part of why the robots and combine the mode kind of sucks, because they put so much effort and emphasis on to the train mode

These are kibble-heavy, yet so intricate. I'm in awe of the diabolically- complex transformation that's made look so easy by this dude. However, by no fault of his, of course, the end product is sooooooo messy. Wtf are those foot attachments supposed to be?
The foot attachments are references to the original toy.
Sorry for Takara, but that figure works 10 years ago, on this days, this a totally mess....
I've been in Tokyo during April-May in 2023, the Trainbots were shelfwarmers along Nightbird in every store which had a Transformers section, not even in Japan wanted them
$100min each. So fucking expensive!

Not a fan of the clunky and blocky look like they came out on a 2004 animated cartoon, but gotta give credits to the engineers. I was expecting all of them to have legs that just split from one end, but that ain't the case. Pretty cool

I'm glad these guys got MP toys but MAN are they messy.
Some flaws to the combiner, sadly.
Maybe MPG will make Raiden 2 in a few years, where the foot fins are accurate and the waist isn't an accessory for a repaint.
I am curious what's next though.
A better torso would be nice, too. I was hoping for something like Combiner Wars Devastator, but these feel really delicate and not fun at all to pose or play with.

Get the Moon Studio version. It's better scale, better looking, has die cast parts, and combines like a beast! I had to choose between this set and the Moon Studio one, and I'm SO glad I chose Moon Studio over this one.
@@jediarco True, though both are expensive. I'm still disappointed that Takara didn't use Orange as an actual midsection.
@@JohnnyMcJim For a product made by Takara Tomy (Big Corporate mumbo jumbo) is already considered damn good. If you want better just go Third party.
E.g God Ginrai by takara tomy really sucked, so I went for FansHobby God Ginrai and I was happy as hell, sold away Takara Tomy God Ginrai.
I'm sure I'll break something in the 10th minute of transforming this.

Absolutely amazing. The engineering on this toy is astronomical awesome.
It really isn't, and I say that objectively...
There is partsforming in almost every bot, transformations are hardly a step up from mainstream figures, there is a reliance on thin clear plastic which simply wont last the test of time, and the alt mode trains dont even fit properly on the provided display bases/tracks - a far cry from "masterpiece".
Genuinely one of the worst combiners in recent memory, especially given the astronomical price tag.

I originally wanted the MPG Raiden. This comment made me realize that the Moon Studio version exists. Now that I have it I’m glad I don’t have the MPG Raiden. Thank you for saving me
@hugemegamanx3568 Glad to hear it! I have had my set of the Moon Studio figures now for over half a year and I'm still enjoying them to this day. Far more detailed. Look more like the characters on the show. Solidly built. And, most importantly, a great gestalt that holds together firmly and doesn't feel like it's going to either fall apart or fall over at any second.
Astrotrains gonna have a field day with this one.😂

Ah! Gotcha. Yes, they would scale well with Newage. Moon Studio version of these figures scale better with Hasbro/Takara Legends scale.

I'm usually forgiving of backpack kibble, especially on combiner pieces, but this is insane! How the hell do you mess up transforming bricks that cost $200 each?!

I love their individual robot mode and their vehicle mode but when they combine into raiden i think his waist is too short
Great video but what a disappointing set of figures. I would be mad if I spent all that money on what is a very mediocre set. The Moon Studio version is far superior and costs less. Better luck next time Hasbro/Takara.

I prefer this set. Moon Studios is cool too though. But there are dozens of us that prefer the takara. Dozens of us!

I just got Suiken and I can't wait to get the others! Ok I was playing with Sunken last night and the cone's connection piece snapped clean off of the socket for his robot form. And now my mom says that I probably shouldn't get all six of these awesome guys! Hopefully I can get these guys for myself though.
The Alco RS-3(?) looks wonderful! Robot mode is probably the most clean of the set. What’s the name of the fifth bot?

The only critique I have are about the feet. I think they could've designed the missile turrets a bit better? Fold in on themselves a bit to not be so protruding? Or link up from the heel?

@@Warpass1334 Yes, these are all from the Japanese sequel series to g1, mostly Super God Masterforce if I'm not mistaken. Each of the trains is also a famous Japanese train, as model train collecting is very popular in Japan.
@@Warpass1334When the original Japanese toyline that became Transformers was launched, there were 2 combiners. Devestator(construction vehicles) and Raiden(trains). Raiden was never brought to the U.S. toyline because of a lack of interest in trains, so it wasn't put into the cartoon. That's why it's made of six robots and has that extra piece on the chest- it was designed with Devestator, so they share some similarities.
