Latest update they removed the accessory modules :( so sad its all talked about on the facebook groups no osicilliscope, tpms, battery tester, printer, video scope
You should get a little battery maintainer and just leave it on the the truck all the time, when it's parked. I have 4 or 5 of them; they work so well. I keep one on my riding mower, and motorcycles, and cars I'm not driving everyday, etc. etc.. The best one I've found is called 'foxsur' on it.. It's like this thick rectangle and is usually orange or yellow, and is 6A.. I've seen others that are 12A and 20A, etc.. but they cost quite a bit more, and there's no reason for it really. 6A always fully charges whatever you want over night. but the coolest thing, is that you can just keep them hooked up indefinitely and they are smart and automatically top off the battery and keep it full; but they will turn off and not over charge.. If you hook them to the 12V with the clamps, without plugging it in-- It will still turn on and act like a Volt meter and show your charge......... but then, when you plug it in-- it will show charging voltage/AMPS/temp, etc... They are so useful. Again, I've seen many others in different shapes and sizes, and they all seem to be exactly the same internally -- with the same digital screens and output program, etc. You could do a video on it too I guess.
I have 3 or 4 maintainers but I try to start the truck once a week and let it run until warm. I would like to get a solar powered one that way there isn't an extension cord running across the driveway.
Do you know if this scanner can read the SRS airbag module and look at the resistence of the seatbelt buckle or pretensior to find open/shorts,high resistence and also recalibrate the weight seat weight sensor sws, basically higher end bi directional scanners can, curious if this has those features cause I will be buying cars from auction, salvage title vehicles and you have to be able to diagnose a faults in the srs and see why the airbag light would on
Does it have special functions for vw/vag like mucar 07s? How does it work with well with vag cars( activating special functions, coding etc i think its called vag guided functions ).Thank you for your video.

Thinkcar is deleting functions with the new system update! They did not stop to think for a minute that maybe some of its users may have the endoscope, bt battery clamp tester, oscilloscope, and printer that they are using it with the 689bt.
I sent a email to Thinkcar currently waiting for a response Dear Thinkcar Support Team, I hope this message finds you well. I am reaching out regarding my Thinkcar 689BT, which I updated earlier today. Following the update, I noticed that some features I frequently use appear to be missing from the menu. Specifically: I use the TPMS G2 module and the battery tester clamps regularly, but I can no longer find these options in the device’s menu after the update. I rely on these features for my work, so their absence is quite inconvenient. Could you please let me know if there is a way to restore these functionalities or if additional steps are required to re-enable them? Additionally, I have been considering purchasing the oscilloscope module for the Thinkcar 689BT. Before proceeding, I want to ensure that my device is fully functional and compatible with the oscilloscope. Thank you for your assistance. I look forward to your prompt response.
@@only1hollywoodjacko I heard they also changed the way you are able to program keys as well (?). I'm not well versed on this device but a video I watched about a week after I bought it, was talking about the fact that when this scanner was first released, you could use it to program new keys, but now you have to pay extra for that function.
@@only1hollywoodjacko ok I sent thinkcar a email. I had to provide them my serial numbers. They said they will add the features back in. I’m still waiting. Someone also mentioned that immo key programming is gone but apparently it is under a new category “anti-theft software”

@@737mechanic Yeah.. I thought about that too. I haven't tried any solar yet.. They don't seem to make very much power.

It will do those but keep in mind things like that are year make and model dependant so you may be able to do that on one car but not another.

Yes it has special fucntions on VW and VAG cars. Until I get some more time with it I can't say the exact functions and abilities on those car though.
Question
Can this scan tool open and close the Air Injection Check Valve?
Yes, it is fully bi-directional and will definitely do that.

It would depend on year make and model.
