- In Goa I went to the island of Tiracol and stayed at a lovely heritage property called Fort Tiracol. In this India travel vlog I explore Tiracol, show you guys round the Fort itself, visit one of the local beaches and go on a village tour.

I remember staying in the fort in what was called 'Terekhol' in the local language some 30 years ago when I was a kid, and the fort was not listed as a heritage hotel/resort. A family friend of ours was a friend of the caretaker of the fort, and we had the whole fort to ourselves. The cook whipped up some amazing seafood for us, we slept in what is now the courtyard and watched satellites and shooting stars pass by in the clear night sky. An amazing feature of this fort used to be steps that led straight down to the rocks where the waves crashed. They may be the same steps you see at the point where you mentioned that there's no swimming pool. Another interesting aspect of this place was a gorgeous sandbar (not sure if it's still there) that divided the river and the see. It would be in the direction of where you point to the fort behind while on the beach. Lasting memories of an amazing place. Glad to see you enjoyed it
As always with your videos Alex, there was the element of danger! The spiked door and low hanging balcony points got a generously sized man a little nervous! 😁 ...but the views from the fort and watching you stroll along the warm Goan sands definitely chilled the heart rate. Fantastic video as always, a ray of sunshine 😎
