Its all about creating your own style when editing and if you are happy with the results, that's all what matters. I am not much of a fan of replacing the skies but Peter really knows how to pull it off. Great video.

Thanks for all the amazing videos! Love em. Only a suggestion, but when you “skip right ahead to the full edit”, then you skip the part I find most useful. Would prefer fewer images with a more in depth walk through of the edit. But no matter what, thanks for doing what you do

I love these episodes, pete. I always experiment with my colours, so watching you do the same thing makes me pumped to open lightroom and try it all over again. that motorcycle shot, however, wow. so bomb. congrats on that edit!

But if you wanna see stars you should have set the exposure time much longer before taking that picture. So it would have result in a blurred water surface. Pete mentioned it's not normal to see stars at this time of day but I'm sure we could with the right settings. And so there could have been stars in the sky but not in the water.

With things like sky replacement etc. You get more artistic photographers who like those things. You also get people, like me, who prefer to tell the story of what really happened. That is the beauty of photography, we all have our unique style and preferences,but in the end we are all one big community.

Haven’t watched it, but I already know there’s some Amazing edits.
Good edits, but I din't agree with the motocross photo. Personally think it went in the wrong direction. It is a great shot to begin with and only needed minor touches. I agree with the flags being taken out. The sand you added just looks too pixelated for my taste. Overall I wasn't feeling the edit you did on that one. Don't get me wrong I love your work and you're an amazing photographer. I must admit you have taught me quite a bit too. I'll submit something sometime then you can critique me too. Thank you Pete.

@@porschepanamera92 Exactly, but this isn't the only photo he fucked up. Speaking from someone who has industry experience in matte painting, dmp environmental work he is below armature. He objectively ruined these photos and is misleading photographers who have an actual aesthetic and visual eye. This guy is the epitome of this growing trend of amateurish, self-validating and unknowledgeable instagram "photographers."

He's been doing great stuff with a dedication that we all could only probably have in our dreams. Probably he might have done mistakes in his editing. C'mon, we all do that. They weren't even his pictures. Equal to double the trouble. Still he did a great job with the mountain image.And well, whoever was that person who had the 'industry experience' , try becoming the half of what Pete is, and then you could spread hate and somebody might lend an ear. The Grand Canyon with the warm tones and that haze just looks like dirt and dust, not haze or fog. I think the reason it's creepy and cool is because you can tell it's fog because of the cooler tones.
I watch some other pros editing submitted pictures on TH-cam. Some (think married couple) seem to be very cold when editing and criticizing the shots. Peter is always warm and sees the upside of every picture and offers great advice and opinions. Most enjoyable to watch.
The sky replacement in the Taj photo is pure magic :)

Ok I know the edits were done based on your personal preference........ BUT..... *That Taj Mahal photo needed a lot more than that.* :( There are details on the actual building that need to be exposed (via editing).
