    Man those LED cyclops magnet lights are the best lights in the industry… they are like 40$ and hi vis aswelll. No other light I have had can match the magnet strength and brightness of it!

    Chain falls and come alongs can save your body. Im a large scale commercial carpenter/piledriver we use them ALOT. I also used to be an ASE tech for toyota/honda so these engines are awsome. Funny your speaking you could be a guy on my crew building bridges, high rises etc

    Gotta have veins filled with WD40 to love that job.
    6 foot long connecting rods, connected to a piston the size of a tin trash can. The whole assembly sitting on a rack for emergency replace mid-ocean.
    A Formula 1 racing engine with a 4 inch long connecting rod. Connected to a aluminum ash tray sized piston(literally).
    A Cox .049 model engine, with a ball and socket wristpin/piston assemblage. Screw in piston cylinder.

      Every essetial tradesmen deserves more than a living wage. Its a disgrace that so many are underpaid for their skill and danger of their jobs. For example i build sewage stations, bridges, high rise apts, etc. Im definitely not wealthy but do make a decent wage from unions neg inflation raises. Something EVERYONE should be getting. Companies are making record profits still overall yet employee raises only briefly happened in 2020/21

    Very interesting. I´ve a friend who works at the Wärtsilä works in Vasa. Was this engine made there by any chance?

    What are the chances of getting a couple of thes used cylinder liners? And what is the bore diameter?

    • @therealmaverickx
      @therealmaverickx  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Its fairly easy to acquire these parts, if you are at the right place at the right time. Ive put so much of this stuff in the steel scrap bin. the engine name tells you the bore size: 12v32 means 12 cylinders, V configuration, 320mm bore

    Gotta ask... you got mills and lathes ect on board. Machine shop.......??
    That'll make a great vid too..!

    • @therealmaverickx
      @therealmaverickx  หลายเดือนก่อน

      The Machine Shop is very rudimentary on most boats, you cant always trust the lathe to run true. I have some footage of the machine shop on another boat that I will be sharing in the next month or so. Stay tuned for that!

    Surprised they don’t just do power packs like on locomotives

    • @therealmaverickx
      @therealmaverickx  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      power packs are on EMD engines, ive rebuilt those dirty 2 strokes before. These are 4 strokes. Power packs arent as popular. Typically, its 1 out of the 4 components in a power pack that fails, so its cheaper overall to have them individually serviceable

    How many hours do they normally run before they need a major overhaul?

    • @therealmaverickx
      @therealmaverickx  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Typically 20,000 to 30,000 hours before a full overhaul
