I scammed a company into paying me to show up 40 hours per week. I did that for 30 years and walked right out with a retirement package. I never got caught.
The thing that you've said about being in the right place is on my mind a lot lately. I believe that 80% of the businesses you discuss there wouldn't work in Poland( where I live) simply because people are much less consumption-oriented than Americans.
defacing currency is only considered illegal when you try to pass it off as more valuable currency. people engrave and sell coins, and its not illegal at all. the law is meant to guard against counterfeiting and isnt applied to situations where that was not the goal of the perpetrator.
Some video suggestions: dial down the colored filters and match the colors, then one host be more on the left side of the frame and the other on the right. 🎉
The Mark Jenney story was extremely inspiring. Unlike people with undergrad, grad degrees from elite schools, he sort of set the example of "here's what's possible if you are open minded and willing to work hard" Maybe it's not practical everywhere but in the US there is more tolerance for trial and error experimenting with business ventures and Henry Ford said "if you're not succeeding, increase the rate of failure" in other words increase the repetition of trial and error till you nail something
Hey guys, love the pod, keep it up! If I could just highlight one improvement it would be that Sam's camera is a bit worse quality than Shaan's which detracts a bit from the experience when watching. Other than that, everything is epic 👌
Hey! The numbering on the TH-cam and the Apple Podcasts helps users who watch both or want to finish off an episode in a podcast format…. The numbering system has been taken off recently… any chance to get it back?
before Kids - No. That's wrong. Have kids in your 20s. Having kids when you're young is exceptionally motivating. Young parents learn very quickly to not waste time/money/energy on things that don't matter. You've got the rest of your life to hustle for money, but you've only got ~12 years to find a spouse and have children.
Sam what you describe in part of the show about the courses you made is called "imposter syndrome" it is normal, there will always be someone who will criticize you for any reason. The best answer for me about imposter syndrome is this. There is only one person that does not makes mistakes, it is a person that does nothing. Doing something involves making mistakes. We learn by making mistakes, so they him to stuff his face with the sock ;)
I heard about Omaha steaks in 2009. I was an aspiring model and a photographer contacted me and said he wanted to colab. And I remember to this day what he said in the final lines of his email. He said” he didn’t have money, but he had OMAHA STEAKS” lol
I'm from the US and I still don't get how residentially-zoned homes can be rented out for non-residential uses. It's a business use of a home in the middle of a residential area.
I'm with Shaan for schools.. went to a UC near Silicon valley (mid tier uni but in retrospect even though it was a fine experience since I came from a low income socioeconomic background, I think SJSU might've been better being in the heart of the city). You have to put in work to network or get to know the right people. Even if you don't network in uni you can change like the boys mentioned, talk to people, maybe do some certs as prestigious unis for name brand at a cheaper cost, put in work with personal projects and show companies, follow and network with people your interested in to get into the right circles like VCs.
Me'o'clock had me in splits. You guys inspire with little words and techniques that you probably are aware off as well. Great content guys. You are my must watch morning content.
Back in the day Omaha steaks would have people sign up for sales and they would go door to door with a truck and freezer trying to sell the steaks and meat.
Love the show. Especially this episode. And, I've realized how everyone in your position had a BS role and time before jumping onto the highline. Wondering if you or anyone of your guests or people that you know about hopped out of a 6 figure role and risked their and their own family safety to be able to drill down and ask real questions to figure out what works to have a startup. You guys are doing "it" and enjoying but I'm always aware that there a some ppl like me who are older, safe, family prepared and yet seeking a real smile similar to what you guys have. Safety is "i know" a major issue but happy to hear your feedback about the mumbojumbo comments i have. You guys are real fun and why I watch the shows. Keep it up! Luck is what you make it for sure but the more you work at it the more of it you do have. Simple way to think about it growth mind set. And by the way nothing wrong with being a generalist. Maybe the skillet of a generalist is knowing or understanding others skills. Just saying no need to over commit on that judgment. And ppl do change. Just really really hard for most. Cheers!

Hey guys! Could you please show how you analyze a company? Where do you see their revenue and the market cap. In other words, if i have multiple ideas and want to figure out which should I pursue, how can I study the competition and the market. Thanks!
What do you guys think about launching something like Harry and David here where I live, in the German market. It's big enough and I'm sure people would love it.
Most likely he just needs some rest but regardless someone close should reach out to him and see if he's okay. Those bags are huge and I just noticed he kept touching his eyes like I do when I'm tired. Maybe this podcast is overworking him

Its different because you don't have to sell to get the students in a college class. And the students belong there and have been vetted by previous courses. Selling on line courses your are mostly selling to people who think buying a course is going to get them what they want. One of my favorite memes "There is no food, there is only ingredients to make food" that's like a course. They want the food, not the ingredients to make food.
I think when having a family and saying: "such and such will be great for me" is narcissistic, thus I didn't see it as "insecurity picking out" by saying: "for me and my family". Same goes for "me o'clock", it's a nice idea for dealing with business things and not care about the opinion of people who don't matter, but it shouldn't always be just "me, me, me" , that's extremely self centered

It would technically count as defacing currency, which is illegal.
That's what I was thinking but wasn't 100%. Probably technically illegal but unlikely to be enforced.
Not sure about this. You're putting a removable sticker on top of currency. You're not destroying it in any way. Not sure what the right answer is.
There is also the copyright issue.
defacing currency is only considered illegal when you try to pass it off as more valuable currency. people engrave and sell coins, and its not illegal at all. the law is meant to guard against counterfeiting and isnt applied to situations where that was not the goal of the perpetrator.
Luck is increased dramatically by hard work and determination, plus going to where the success is.
Guys , your intro and outro music is awesome don't change it.

This is unimportant. But the white frame should go immediately. On any decent modern TV it is absolutely retina scorchingly blinding.

The photo put on top of Washington, is only place on top. It is in no way glued or affixed to it. Thus no mutilation!
