Thank you! Have these headphones and am a premium subscriber to Deezer for years but they only have select songs you can play with 360 audio, didn't realize you could with Deezer as that service provider isn't listed when you buy these. My favorite custom equalizer setting is the regular vocal boost but 6k at 0db with bass at +10, makes everything clearer, pop a bit more with treble and has deeper bass as well as more room to play for higher volume control. I worked on my equalizer settings for hours as songwriting is my profession. Thank you again!

I’ve watched a couple of your videos on the M4’s. Really nice coverage. I purchased them and looking forward to experiencing them. We have several acres that I mow a couple times a week so these should be a Godsend for my music and podcast listening. I was a little apprehensive about getting caught in rain but I will just need to be careful and keep my eyes to the sky. I’m actually surprised no one has made covers or sleeves to provide a little protection coverage for the various ports. Thanks again. I’ve liked and subscribed.

Great video! Absolutely love my XM4s, and here are my EQ settings in case anyone finds it helpful. Personally for me they are perfect for maximum clarity, and imo they perform very well for a wide variety of genres:
I took the “Bright” preset, and then tweaked it a little bit. I changed the 16 kHz bar to 10 (max), and increased my clear bass to 2. This brings way more clarity and is imo a great setting that works for many different genres (EDM, pop, rap, rock, metal, classical etc.). This is great for me personally, because I listen to tons of different genres (as listed above), and I don’t want to change my settings every time I switch from genre lol
Armin00 Thanks for this advice. I did the same on my XM3 and settled in 16kHz bar set at 10 (max) and clear bass to 0. Not sure about the XM4 but I find the XM3 has plenty of bass at the 0 setting and I get a nice clean sound with plenty of bass at this EQ setting. Thanks again for this custom setting!!
Al Scarpa 0 works as well, it’s a matter of preference after all. And no problem, I’m glad I could help! :)
I am nearly the same as you except I switched the 1k from 5 to 0. It sounded a bit weird having this raised. Now they sound awesome, really clear treble with punchy bass but no overblown mids. A good tip is to use Custom 1 as your go to and use Custom 2 for experimenting, do one change at a time, then easily switch between them to compare.
So I'm 0 - 0 - 7 - 7 - 9 with bass at +1
I did this setting but did bass to 4. I like a bit more.

Activate LDAC on XM4 without enabling developer options:
(Android only)
1. Connect headphones
2. Go to Settings app -> Bluetooth
3. Tap the gear next to the XM4
4. Enable high quality audio
Is this option in the Sony app or in the apple settings app?

I came for the function on where to change the voice but I guess that's not possible - I thought maybe I can change it to a male voice... not the biggest fan of the womans voice

Would have been great if they had some variety there.
If Speak-To-Chat is active and you want to force resuming to the music simply double tap on the touch sensor. I also noticed that pairing to other devices (wether you use multi point pairing or not) is only possible when it is activated. I wish they could realize that we can freely choose which functions are activated by single, double, triple or long pressing the custom button. That would be the best!
Maybe they could add Speak-To-Chat to the WF-1000XM3?

Does the multipoint connectivity as good as the AirPods? Do they seamlessly switch between, let’s say, an iPhone and an iPad..?
Do you think that getting the XM4 and then using the EQ to tune it to sound better is a better overall choice than choosing something like say, the Sennheiser PXC 550 iis or the Momentum 3s? I'm worried about the sound stage and the instrument separation since I play the guitar and would more enjoy if these attributes were better, but I don't know how much better the competition really is.

How well do they work for meeting calls? I'm looking for something that can also help reduce background noise. I live with my siblings, and they are very loud. Is the microphone good at reducing sound when on a call?

Thank you, I bought a set, I wouldn't call them noise cancelling though; they don't do much at all to remove noise despite much time calibrating.
Where are the surround vpt and sound position control....i remember having those functions on the xm3s but i cant seem to find those functions on my xm4s. May i know if there’s a way to turn those functions on or did sony remove those functions?

I was going to upgrade from my xm3's but one of my favorite features has been removed (Surround (VPT)) if they add this back I will surely upgrade but removing that feature was a deal breaker for me even though they added all of the upgrades I wanted but that great surround sound overrides those well needed upgrades for me.
I need that feature if I’m going to upgrade, the WH-1000XM3s are the best headphones I’ve owned. That Surround VPT was a dealbreaker…

Could you please check if the ear cushions of the m4 are compatible with the m3? I don’t think I’ll upgrade this generation, but checking them out in the store, I really like the ear pads of the m4.
