- John Denver - Annie's Song, From the 5 Disc Around The World Live DVD
For a very special 5 hour compilation I put together of John's live performances throughout the years, do take a look at my compendium of John's greatest performances in "The John Denver Mega Concert Experience" at odysee.com/@sc...
Thank you so much for visiting!
No autotune, no lip sync. True artist. What a beautiful song and vocals. Denver is a legend.
Annie was a classmate of mine at Gustavus Adolphus College. When John came to visit her, I always shot a few rounds of pool with him. He wasn’t very good, so, I won quite a few games with him. A great guy!!!
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
@@Gustie68how is Annie today
There is a place for auto tune and all other forms of music..music evolves changes people sing like this they have bands theybusee synthesizers they sing acappela stop complaining and just be grateful you have ears to listen....stop hating things you dont understand
Not one camera in the audience , and what an amazing amazing voice 🎉
Beautiful
A magnificent voice. No special effects needed, no gimmicks or costumes. Just a massively talented man and a guitar.
Incredibly beautiful song. ♥️
So special! Indeed, he’s missed.
What a beautiful voice and person......so talented and so missed
What a loving tribute in those words
Classic song by a classic singer
It's the most beautiful song ever written by the fantastic singer there will never be another John Denver rest in peace you will never be forgotten
Had this sung at my wedding@
Our late dads favourite singer and what a singer, pure talent from a true gentleman
Lyrics:
You fill up my senses
Like a night in a forest
Like the mountains in springtime
Like a walk in the rain
Like a storm in the desert
Like a sleepy blue ocean
You fill up my senses
Come fill me again
Come, let me love you
Let me give my life to you
Let me drown in your laughter
Let me die in your arms
Let me lay down beside you
Let me always be with you
Come, let me love you
Come love me again
Let me give my life to you
Come, let me love you
Come love me again
You fill up my senses
Like a night in a forest
Like the mountains in springtime
Like a walk in the rain
Like a storm in the desert
Like a sleepy blue ocean
You fill up my senses
Come fill me again
An ode to love, magnificent

Any of us that grew up in the 70’s knew his music well; such a talent.
Not just all of you, also those born after 2000 still know and adore him ❤
Absolutely. Remember riding in my dads truck and JD blaring. Not a care in the world.
Was born in 2004 and know every word to all of these songs, this is what you call real music unlike %80 of stuff they produce nowadays
Ein wunderschönes Lied Dankeschön
The album with this song on it was a gift to me as a teen. Me and my friends went to one of his concerts. We sat in the nosebleed seats and I wondered what that sweet smoke smell was, lol. I still have his album. RIP John.
This Dude. Just John and his guitar. Tunes the guitar himself instead of getting handed a new guitar tuned by techs. I really miss the days of true talent.
So true, mate. so true!
No autotune,no back tracks just a man with his guitar and a voice pure as a driven snow !! Miss you John you were a special performer !!
"Autocorrect." SMH
He was so great in concert. He was one of my favorites! So sad he died so young. 😢
Beautiful no other words
@@mikeymutual5489. Perhaps autocorrection ‘corrected’ the word autotune?🤔🤭
@@IndomitableT Heh, what a mess...
Perfection immortalised.
Got married in 1975. This was one of our wedding songs.
Still together after all these years.
Hello
Where are you from
My husband sang this to me at our wedding.
❤❤
❤
This is one of my very favorite versions of Annie’s Song. It showcases how good John’s voice was live, with just him and a twelve string guitar. I was blessed to see John in person 16 times over the years and his live concerts were always deeply spiritual experiences for me. The vibration of unconditional love and compassion in his voice really connected with the audiences. You don’t just listen to John with your ears, you EXPERIENCE him with your entire being, heart and soul.
John Denver is just another amazing and wonderful gift God gave to humanity. I hope John knew how much he was loved!💕
I agree. This is my favourite version. He also does a very good version in co cork but the audio is not the best
Much 💘 to humanities
I saw him in concert in brisbane Australia. A concert I will never forget.
Totally agree, I've only just 'found 'him but can't stop listening, and although I've listened to this song in my life time, it's timeless isnt it and he.
It was one of the saddest moments, when the news broke of John's death...I truly believe we lost one of the purest, male singing voices in history...and not only that but a wonderful and beautiful human being. You are deeply missed, John, and thank you for sharing your gift with us all.
John Will Never Be Truly Be Gone He Will Always With Us ♥️
Got this video after listening to Greg Lake sing still turn me on on 12 string.
Danke ❤für den Song ❤.
John was amazing with a deeply sensitive positive soul. He gave us amazing and honest songs from his heart. All his famous songs are about love. Life is short and unpredictable, We must take genuine care of all our loved ones in our lives.
Heard his songs as a Child and still continue to enjoy and it brings Tears..
We love you and miss you Dearest John Denver for giving us amazing music. May you rest in peace.
Prof Shahjahan katpar
I agree, RIP JOHN DENVER
It is a poorer world without this man to sing to us anymore.
True.....a gut punch mixed with joy from his music.....
Thank heaven for these videos and his music.
John is with us as we with him
always forever we'll end and begin
there will be magic in a small while
the music will again bring a smile
in the meantime we remember
like the rain in September
and the fertile moments of grace
as his music will again fill this space
I just wrote this little poem for the love of a man who cannot be mistaken for anything other than a beautiful being and there is that in all of us 💓
Oh Yes, still listening, in 2024, the most beautiful voice (vocals) of his generation and a beautiful soul, a poet and a troubadour. I still miss him. I still adore him.
My mum lived a horrible life with my wife beating father and I never saw her smile much, one day I came home to hear her singing along to this and it was a beautiful moment. we played this at her funeral and through my tears I smiled at this memory ❤
What a fantastic memory my God bless and keep you
I am so sorry... My mom loved JD, my dad was abusive to her too...ay your mom rest in peace....
So good, wow
@@susanb2015I’m pretty sure this isn’t a competition
@@kathleendavidson3316 Report me.
My wife and I used to lie on the sofa and just chill listening to John after a hard day's work. Such a talent lost too early.
Can't even fathom walking out on stage... alone... and performing like that.
Just to be able to write lyrics, and then the music that brings them to life, is unreal. But then to play the musical instrument AND sing the song, is astounding. And to do it all to perfection.
Thanks John. We lost so much when we lost you.
I wish you peace...
There is a very big and special surprise coming for John Denver fans & that is all I can say right now. : )
Beautiful comment,especially the last couplev9f lines ❤

You tease a surprise…..
Feel i'm teenager again.
Still loving every minute of his music. I’m 82.
Im74 just the same
It’s 2024 and I’m listening. I listen to this version of this song a
almost every day. What a talent!
How could you not love John Denver…such a pure and powerful voice …a terrible loss to the world, but his music will live forever ❤❤❤❤
Agreed, i feel the same about Tom Petty... while his voice didn't reach the heights and was not on the level of John Denver his lyrics and music had a real and pure delivery that felt authentic and relatable
My late dad introduced me to John's song. Now I'm in my fifties, his song still bring me joy & comfort. RIP John.
He was also known to be a Good, kind and decent Man. R I P 1🌹
Well said ❤
He was a drunken wife beater. Look it up. He was a horrible person.@@sheilagarrido8204

Always listening
Composer, lyricist, performer, writer, poet, and a unique voice, he had it all.
Um artista completo... ❤
You left out movie star.
And, sadly, a pilot.
Listening to this song always brings tears to my eyes. Because it was my wife’s favorite song. I would play it to her while she was in ICU in an induced coma. She passed 2017
That’s so beautiful. I’m sorry for your loss.
So sorry for the loss of your loved one. She is with the angels now...
So sorry for your loss...May God give you courage to bear the irreparable loss

Two finely tuned instruments; the guitar, and John’s beautiful voice.

Anyone listening in 2025? This song never gets old
yes indeed.. listening to it loud and loving it
Yep grew up with his music miss his talent so much Jan 2025 😀
Never stop listening! ❤❤
Greetings from Germany
Yes !! Listening again and again - for decades ! Just wonderful, touching ! Greetings from Austria
Compare this to the dribble they call music today, the young generation don't realise what they're missing out on. This is simply outstanding!
57 year ago i proposed to my wife with this song!! Still married, two kids, 6 grandchildren, it worked!!!!
Great job, brother.
I still have my Rocky Mountain High album and I'm 66 years young. When I die the album goes with me. A sad day for humanity when he passed.
Creatively; that is probably his best album in my opinion. I feel that his original band really helped solidify his guitar playing and supported his creativity and originality,
His voice was simply wonderful. Powerful yet soothing.
This song is eternal.
god gave him the talent to share with us im 61 and its so beautifull we are blessed this man sang to us may he rest in heaven
That, ladies and gentlemen, is a voice to die for, a voice for the ages.
Very well said !
His voice sounds like an entire choir
I am so blessed I was fortunate enough to have beautiful music like this while growing up. John Denver will always remind me of a better time in life. He was a true talent
Still listening in 2024 is there anyone?❤
Oh yes!❤
Most definetly from south africa.
Oh ja! ❤ Ein Ausnahme Musiker. Ich heule heute noch, wenn ich ihn höre. 😢
Yes it's an all time evergreen - classic still now 2024 😊!!
Absolutely, just now...but I don't know how I got here, I'm just glad I did!
I wouldn't trust anyone who doesn't like John Denver's music.
Now that's a T-Shirt that needs printing!
I don't think John Denver gets the credit he deserves in musical history. One man, a guitar, and a mic and he sounds terrific. Live no less! A legend that's sorely missed.
His voice is much stronger singing live than it is on the record.
So very beautiful ! The song takes me back to 1980 when i thought life will be only happy. Sadly, life had other ideas.
I totally understand that.
@@davebryant8050I was born the year of your graduation. My dad would play John Denver constantly on road trips across the country. I was only 4 or 5 at the time. Life certainly does have a way of letting you know it is in charge and nothing is guaranteed. Thankful for the small moments, like enjoying good music in good company.
Life, it seems always has other ideas. I guess embracing them, as best as possible , takes the sting away !!
Listening on Christmas Day 2024. Wow...one man on a stage, with his guitar, holding an audience of thousands in rapt attention. No glare from cell phones, either. Just a powerful artist and singer. Gone too soon...
Let’s be grateful that we have had musicians like John in our lives. We are better for it.
Omg i cant stop crying hearing this
John Denver is the epitome of the version of America we all miss and desperately need. Im in Scotland
Come let me love you , come love me again … in memory of my beautiful daughter who passed away barely six months ago . I miss her so bad .
John was my friend. I miss him every day and this song still makes me cry. He loved Annie so much but just couldn’t keep it together.
No autotunes, no special effects. Just a man and his guitar
John is one of those rare people who I will remember all of my days. His death was a loss for all.
This guy had such an Amazing Voice!! He wrote Beautiful Songs and Performed Them Beautifully!! Lost way too soon!! Rip John Denver!!🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
this may come as a surprise to you, john was kind of a joke and made fun of by his contemporaries i use to wonder why
Boy oh boy....THIS is how you deliver a song live folks.
Damn, I'd completely forgotten what a great voice he had - power, emotion and in perfect tune
His voice stayed absolute perfection right up to the end. But the personality and entertainer in him was gone after he and Annie divorced. I think his heart really just went out of it after loosing Annie. He just wasn't quite the same after they split up. But God bless him for having the strength to keep singing and performing for us.
great powerful voice .. never sang out of tune.. he was one of my favorite growing up... too bad we lost him so early and so young
I love when the live versions sound as good as the recorded version. Beautiful voice.
This was sung at my wedding in 1988 and it still gives me peace
My mum died 20 years ago and my brother, sister and I were clearing out her house! We looked round her empty bedroom and cried! All that was left was her old radio which was in the middle of the room! Suddenly the radio came on and played this song! When the song finished it went off! My sceptical brother went over to see how this could have happened! It wasn’t plugged in and there were no batteries in it! Our mums name was Annie and we believe she letting know she was still with us! My brother said he wouldn’t have believed it if he wasn’t there! X
I believe it. Bless you.
Oh sure, that can happen. The ones who has passed are still with us. I have the same sort of experiences.

WOW, amazing occurrence. Awesome
@@mikejohnson2638 How would you know if you've never experienced something like this?. Millions of humans experience similar things every day.. and these anecdotal evidences are backed up by millenia of spiritual teachings. Hold your rude judgement until it's proved otherwise maybe? I wish you a beautiful experience one day soon, to open your stubborn heart and mind.
I didn't remember Denver having such a strong voice. He's awesome 👍
I feel like his voice got even better with age.❤
Google or TH-cam John's song "For You". The range he hits is unreal.
Still here 10/10/2024....my god what happyness we have when there are moments to be happy.....
My boyfriend bought me this single, way back in 1974. I've still got it. Memories.
Yeah. Too good. 🌟
Damals hat eine Gitarre und eine Stimme gereicht, um die Menschen zu berühren. Ohne Primborium und großes Tamtam. Wunderbar.
John's voice has an operatic power. His lyrical genius just brings you to your knees. Perfect combination, perfect performance. Love John. Rest in peace. Although we never met, you are my friend.
Love and peace.
That's nice. Wish guys like him were still here.
no backup singers, no lights, no pyrotechnics, nothing fancy. just excellent playing and singing and excellent song. doesn't get get better.
I was lucky to grow up listening to John Denver, unlike a lot of singers he sounded the same on stage or record. Today's artists have so many background instruments but John didn't need them he had his amazing voice.
61 in 2025 and still listening to JD he was an awesome singer and songwriter. My all time fav of his is Home again.
There are singers...and Joan Baez. Her voice is extraordinary. This is a sad, yet gorgeous song. Perfection.
I miss the 70s and 80s! I am so glad I grew in those decades.
My God he had such a beautiful voice.. 😢😢 Bring you to tears in a good way.❤
His music was the other part of spiritual feelings. I always feel like there's a guidance in his lyrics each time i listen to his songs
Makes me think of my dear little brother. A highly intelligent man with many friends and relatives who loved him. But on that starry night he took his own life. I miss you every day brother. A piece of me died that day. Love you and I'll see you when my time on earth is over.
Whenever I listen to this wonderful version of "Annie's Slong", I just feel more alive than ever.
he's an extraordinary live singer. Nobody from this century can touch him.
Oh boy I get tears in my eyes every time i here you're voice John. Beautiful.
He was fantastic. RIP John. You are still so missed.
He's just so good💯👌✨☺️
The Legend ❤❤❤❤❤
I just close my eyes and get lost in this song.
A song that resonates through the ages, timeless and forever.
I’ve listened to many performances. I think this one is the best.
Sure do miss him! ❤️🌹
A national treasure John will always be.
What a beautiful song with beautiful lyrics -really touches one's heart.
When the artist… His song…the voice… And the message combine… Magical!
1 Mar 2024: Such a loss to the world when John D rode his plane into the sea. Incredible talent lost. Always loved his music. RIP, John D.
One of my favorite from mr. Denver's
Dad is gone. He showed me John Denver . Thank you Dad!!! I love you!!!!
How many singers can do that?
Just a guitare and his voice create such sound?
What a wonderful singer and songwriter.
What a voice! What poetry! What a wonderful musician and composer….❤❤
My mom’s favourite song… she died 37 years ago (in 1987) when she was so young, just aged 37… I can still see her smile and hear her voice when I listen to it… Forever loved… ❤
this was my mother's favourite song too. She died in her 70s in 2016. This song is iconic to that generation.
After all this time ALWAYS. makes me cry to think that he is no longer with us. Such a tragic loss of life.
Such a great voice
What a beautiful treasure this world lost when JD passed. His pure voice makes him immortal.
He sung from the heart. That made all the difference.
John Denver was an environmental leader and his music reflected that his legacy will live on. He was taken way too soon from us in a tragic way but his songs will live in our hearts and souls forever.
The master of the 12 string......superstar......enough said!
Go Tom! Awesome and still got it
What an amazing clear voice John had. Such talent, no backing singers or dancers prancing about just John bless him where ever he is. 🎉
