Thanks Liz as always. I'm thinking of preparing the usual "lirycs and chords" for this one. On the web you can easily find the chords for the original, but this one has some very interesting news. Eventually I'll also included them in this thread.
From a grumpy old man who lives way across the pond in the UK, you guys really have a beautiful thing going on there but, please, please, please tell your mum to stop hiding away at the rear, she’s the concrete that cements the bond between you all, she’s very much the most important part of who you guys are.
I'm an old guy so I've loved this song for a long time. I heard it as a man's song because John Denver, Katie changed my mind. It's on my list of favorites now. Please never quit, we need all the beautiful music you kids care to make.
The appeal of this family band spans the generations and the globe. I'm based in the UK. I'm a fan; my kids are fans, particularly as we sing and play guitar together as a family at home. An incredibly talented family and always a genuine pleasure to listen to.
In case it's of interest, the band are back in London this summer. I saw a few kids at the show last year, and they're actually returning earlier than expected www.seetickets.com/event/the-petersens/union-chapel/3000403
Hi you have a new subscriber and I'm from Germany. This song always reminds me at my grand aunt Annie who lived, until she passed, early 1990's, in Rochester/Minnesota. She was such a good hearted woman. Loved her so much. Thank you for your music. It' a great pleasure to hear it, GOD bless you all!❤
Such a great song of Denver. And Petersens Sing and play so well . Thanks. It's like a tribute to John Denver . God bless John Denver. This is ONE OF BEST MELODIES EVER
What a warmth in the voice that envelops me. And what I also love about your arrangements is that you support the voices with the instruments and don't drown them out. So they can also "tell" the song in a real way.
Katie really shines on both vocals and fiddle, and now I see she did the arrangement as well! Hope all those who requested this song are as pleased as I am.
There must be a million ways to tell someone that you love them. This is definitely one of the best ways anyone has ever come up with. VERY well done 👍
I learned Annie’s song when I was 17, at the senior year of the prestigious Nunziatella Military School in Naples, Italy. I loved it so much, that I sang it on stage during Christmas Show that traditionally is held for families. I should have known: Anna (the Italian version of Ann) was the name of my grand-grandmother, my grandmother, my mother…Guess what? My wife’s name - I met her fifteen years after that Show - is Anna. So the name and the song are really near to my heart. Having you guys and ladies executing it in such an heartfelt way is a blessing. I really love you all, thank you for all the wonderful music.
I keep coming back to this. The purity, the simple yet complicated tones coupled with deep emotions hurl us back to a better time. A time we enjoy once again via the Petersen’s. Beautiful.
I saw The Petersens play this live tonight! I feel incredibly blessed to be able to have seen their performance and to briefly meet them after the show. They are all very warm and friendly people. I think the reason I love their music so much is that they pour so much love into it.
A.M. Radio 1970’s, this song left a lump in my throat then as a preteen and still does now. One of the most beautiful songs to ever hit the Airwaves. The Memory of John Denver lives through your acknowledgment in this recording.
This is the best version I‘ve ever heard since John Denver played and recorded it at the Universal Amphitheatre in Los Angeles in 1974. He is one of my favorite musicians and songwriters. Thank you so much❤️ Greetings from Germany🖖🏼
I had the privilege to see John Denver once in concert back in the 1980s and I will alway remember where I was the moment I learned about his death. This song is my favorite of his work. Lovely done.
I heard this song about 20 years ago when I'm having a lovely conversation with my mate. Aside from Country Road's song, this song is one of the best on John Denver's list of songs. For me, this song is so powerful, endless, and totally can bring me back to the old time when the happiness is surrounding, Family, friends, and a soul mate.
Love this song...just like I love my wife...this was our wedding song...good tribute to good old Mr. John Denver...may he rest in peace... and to you...keep up your work...
Every member is so talented but I remember the first time I heard Katie sing and thought to myself.....thats a voice I could listen to for the rest of my life.
Nothing today can match the sheer elegance musicality and class of these performances. Not manufactured, nothing at all sleazy or trampy . Real class, charming and multi talented ! Discoverd this channel yesterday and i,m already hooked !
I wholeheartedly agree! This group is second to none, in my book! They are so perfectly talented in every aspect but seem so graciously humble and "down to earth" and I love them them for that! ❤️😊
I'm glad you gave that survey! My Mom named me after John Denver; for reference, he hosted the Grammy's in 79, and I was born in 82. I wish I could watch these videos with her. She had great taste in music and would have loved the Petersens. Wish John was still with us, too.
To the Peterson Family : You are all so talented !!! Branson should be so proud of you. All of you are incredible musicians and singers. Please continue spreading your joy !!
In 1976 I received the LP "John Denver - Live In London" (at the Palladium) with this song on it, which my musically very gifted Welsh cousin had brought me, who also used songs like this to teach me my first steps on the guitar at the time. Happy times brought back again by your very beautiful rendition of this song. Thank you very much!
Oh , I miss John Denver so much. But his beautiful songs , for example ' Leaving on a jetplane ' will remain the same eternally. I like the way The Petersens sing this song.
Wow, so beautifully done and now my FAVORITE VERSION of "Annie's Song". The Petersens are such a multi-talented, humble, funny and class act family band, you have to love them!
My wife and I had our first dance at our wedding to this song almost 22 years ago! The Petersens are great and a breath of fresh air, but they could've taken this to a new level had they sang harmonies throughout the entire song! I love everything they do, but sadly was a little bummed for the shortage of harmonies on this one. Their harmonies are fantastic and it brought me good memories so thank you for that.
I'm a bit of a music snob, but wanted you to know that I think your sense of arranging is just WONDERFUL. It's like being invited in through a cracked door, then it opens wider to reveal a comfy home full of love.
Aside from her amazing singing, Katie's fiddle playing is beyond brilliant. Overall this group's voices and instruments are really nothing short of a stargate to musical heaven. Thanks for making these magical music moments.🙏🙏🙏🙏
One of the most beautiful love songs and also very personal for John and Annie Martell Denver.Katie's beautiful singing and great arrangement. Also Katie and Matt's version on their mountain trip was absolutely perfect-singing,moutains,lake,breeze...
@@Liz.Newton I liked that one because it just seemed so spontaneous, especially with the backdrop of the mountains, and the breeze blowing through Katie's hair, but I have to say Katie and the rest of the Petersens, Emmett included, took the orchestration up to a whole new level with this one! I love them both for different reasons. Hoping to catch them August 7th in Charlotte, NC when the tickets go on sale.
*LYRICS - Annie's Song*
------------
You fill up my senses
Like a night in the forest
Like the mountains in springtime
Like a walk in the rain
Like a storm in the desert
Like a sleepy blue ocean
You fill up my senses
Come fill me again
Come let me love you
Let me give my life to you
Let me drown in your laughter
Let me die in your arms
Let me lay down beside you
Let me always be with you
Oh come let me love you
Come love me again
You fill up my senses
Like a night in the forest
Like the mountains in springtime
Like a walk in the rain
Like a storm in the desert
Like a sleepy blue ocean
You fill up my senses
Come fill me again
(La, la-la, la, laa, laa...)
Let me lay down beside you
Let me always be with you
Oh come, let me love you
Come love me again
Oh come let me love you
Come love me again

This song is a voice of the human soul. Thank you The Petersen´s.
Why do I always feel better after a Petersens' video? Never mind, I'm just happy that I do.

This was sung at my wedding 47 years ago by a good friend. My husband passed away 6 years ago--I miss him so much!!!
Sorry to hear that. My wife and I also chose this song at our wedding too, a nice classic that says it all.
May peace be with you always!
I am sorry for your loss.
Almost 45 years... I saw John Denver sing this... I cry Anytime I hear this... God bless you Lyne... prayers ... ❤️

My daddy used to sing this song all the time.
He left this world in December 2018. He would love this
John Denver would be Proud!

I wasnt expecting the key change and it sounded even better
Katie is the sweetest girl in the world. Is always a pleasure listening her to sing. Ciao from 🇮🇹. Gianfranco.
One of John Denver’s incredible love songs. Banjos and Dobros can put out so much sound. Here, they pull back for the soft song.
I keep coming back to this. The purity, the simple yet complicated tones coupled with deep emotions hurl us back to a better time. A time we enjoy once again via the Petersen’s. Beautiful.
Katie's vocal is splendid!
How can anyone not love this group a delight on ear and eye.

The decision for Katie to sing this song was pure genius. Bravo!!!
A voice of an Angel. Always tasteful when adding a wonderful arrangement. It shows respect to the original artists. John Denver would've been proud.
Katie embodies the absolute beauty of the Celts and their musical genius. Love to all the Petersons.
