    Probably one of the best looking watches I’ve seen in a while. That bracelet is stunning.

      @@happydogg312 Having 2 Omega divers myself i'd say skip one and go for a PO 600m .The bracelet is about the same (or actually the same, haven't seen or tested it ) and just looks better . Sure it won't go down to 1000m and more , but nobody does that anyways . You even save some cash on buying the PO's above this one . Investment wise , idk , since this will be sold a lot less so it might be a market there in the future , but i doubt it has better value in long term vs a PO . BTW i got a PO 2209.50.00 so a 1st gen coaxial , and i would love to have another PO if a few Speedmasters wouldn't be poking in my brain right now ...

    I just got mine a week ago. Love the size, very comfortable on my wrist and keeps perfect time. A real show stopper. The AD gave me a great price with substantial discount. I also have 2 other Planet Oceans and a Seamaster in Steel & Gold. Love Omega!!.

  • @durrenbt
    @durrenbt ปีที่แล้ว +19

    Clasp looks like a massive improvement. The clasps from older SMPs and Planet Oceans were so elegant the way they matched the width, height, and curvature of the bracelet links. I would love to see a return to that.

      The clasp is quietly Omegas best in a long time. Maybe ever

    Thank you for bringing us this one Bruce. It is ridiculous and amazing. I would probably trade every automatic watch I have for that! I will likely not dive again, but would absolutely love to take that one to 120 feet in Grand Cayman. My SMP has been there and worked flawlessly as a night dive watch. Night is my favorite time to dive and Omega’s lume application works well for any duration dive.

    Excellent review and I had the pleasure of trying on this piece at my AD today. I originally wasn’t interested, but like you, Bruce, seeing it in the metal has changed my mind. Stunning piece and it wears well on my 7.75” wrist.
    I’ll be making the purchase on Monday and your video has solidified my decision and thank you!

    Been wearing my blue/white Ultra Deep for a week and wanted to share some thoughts on the wearing experience. My wrist size is 7”-7.25” for reference. First, proper sizing is key. The clasp should be perfectly centered on the underside of the wrist. The bracelet includes one 1/2 link, which should make this possible for most wrists. That being said, I own a PO “creamsicle” which is exactly 2mm smaller in both diameter and thickness. I can honestly say the Ultra Deep wears more comfortably IMHO despite its larger dimensions and increased mass. I’m not sure why this is and I’m sure most will find it hard to believe, but that has been my experience. I love this watch so much, I’m probably going to do the unthinkable and buy a second one in a different color. I know, crazy. Anyone complaining about the price, I have owned and sold similarly priced divers from both Panerai and Grand Seiko, and this feels leagues beyond both in regards to build quality. Keep in mind that I own several GS watches and love the brand.

      Thank you for the feedback! Did you ever get to compare your Ultra deep with a Rolex Deepsea?

    • @theonlyredspecial
      @theonlyredspecial 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The best Deepsea is the 12 model. The 11 was terribly unbalanced and the 13 is a move back. I just bought this omega but with the fancy seiko snowflake style finish on the dial and it wears better than either the 11 or 12 series. The bracelet is better on the omega as well as it’s significantly thicker and feels much better on the wrist. I love it. They are all heavy in steel so I’d just point that out. I think the model I’m wearing is 247 grams.

    Nice review as always Bruce. With these specs you'd likely need 7.5" + for this to not look completely absurd on wrist. I thought my Seiko LX was bad with the height, barely getting any wrist time outside of summer months, this Omega takes that notion to another level. Beautiful piece admittedly.

    Just bought the electric blue/white dial version on bracelet. It was actually a preowned watch sold through an AD that I do a lot of business with. Mint condition and I paid 9k all in. I couldn’t be happier. I own already the PO “Creamsicle” and this is an amazing addition to my Omega collection. I have 7-7.25 inch wrists and I removed 4 links. Wears comfortably on the bracelet and I do not find the weight to be a problem. A marvelous piece of engineering! Bravo Omega!

    One additional point. The watch shown on this video has a Liquid Metal diving scale. The orange bezel version has a lumed liquid ceramic diving scale. Both are amazingly durable and scratch resistant. The blue/white version has an enamel diving scale. Unsure of enamels long term durability as compared to the other two. I will call Omega’s service department to inquire about this and post their answer at a future date.

    Nice review! This is one of the best watches Omega has developed. It is a bit absurd in size and weight but somehow it just feels balanced, refined, yet still like a piece of equipment. Very expensive equipment, like the difference between a mechanic apprentice Vs a 20 year seasoned pro technician. It feels very “masculine”. The perfect modern counter balance to my heritage line Seamaster 300s.

    I've really loved my 20+ year old Breitling Superocean, but issues with a leaky replacement crown have led to damage to the dial and a noticeable loss of accuracy. It's on its last legs. The new Breitlings are, well, as you say, "hokey", and after extensive research the Omega Ultra Deep looks like a worthy Superocean replacement. But I HATE tapered steel bracelets. What about the black diver's band? It's obviously much lighter than the Omega Steel bracelet, but does that create a sensation of disbalance on the wrist?

  • @christopher2818

    This is so much better than any other diver from Omega, and is what the rest of their diver’s lineup should be modeled after. Lose the ridiculous and ugly helium escape valve at 10. What’s the point of a manually operated dedicated escape valve? Simply use the crown.

    The quality immediately jumps out from the images. And I love that every design detail--the indices, the hands, the clasp--have been tweaked to make them simpler and more elegant. If this was a regular Planet Ocean with thickness under 15mm, I would have been sorely tempted. But as it is now, it is reserved for guys with substantial forearms and in sleeveless attires.

    Really like it, especially the no 2nd nipple which spoils Omega divers for me. The design of the seconds hand could be better, just snip that blue tip bit off. Id rather the case back was traditionally engraved as well. Oh hang on, i like it a bit less :) Good review !!!

    Terrific review/content.
    I wonder wht percentage of owners actually "saturatio dive" at all let alone down to near 1000m :)) 5 percent?? :))

    Omega needs to use this design for their less intense diver and slim down their model lines.

    This needs to be the Seamaster 300M's bracelet..

    You mention saturation diving as being extremely deep a few times. Sat diving is not inherently deeper than other types of diving...just longer.

    Great video! I hope you buy one and do more videos on it. Can you review the latest Grand Seiko Evolution 9 diver too? I like the style of your reviews.

    Please make a 600m like this. This steel, no screw down helium escape valve and nice and slim

    Look how beautiful Omegas can be without the helium escape valves sticking out :/

    Omega might do well with the innovative bracelet 'steel'.
