WHEN TO HIGH SIDE! || Raft Surfing Explained! || R1 Rafting

I will make a separate video down the road on the importance of jumping to the "New Highside" When you are already highsiding. Your boat is stalled. But your boat is then going to rotate. It will be crucial to jump to the "New High Side" This will be the part of your boat that will be spinning up against the wave.
Simply, In this case I just need to jump from the river right side of the pile to the river left side of the pile where the nose of my boat is going to spin.
In this footage I do lowside. But more importantly I am stalled and the boat is spinning me down into the low side. Fueling that fire. So the other technique that I can help develop is to not allow my body to get sucked back down the trough but stay disconnected from the boat and maintain my body position over the top of the pile. Easier said than done. But I will try to practice what I preach and see if I can prevent the Stalled "Highside Spin Down" and just turn it into a controlled spin!
