All good. And happy new year! (This posted on Dec 30). Paraneoplastic syndromes are very interesting. I just looked up this: two of the most common are humoral hypercalcemia of malignancy (HHM) in squamous cell carcinoma and the syndrome of inappropriate antidiuretic hormone secretion (SIADH) in small cell lung cancer. There are many more, reflecting secreted hormones and immunologic cross reactivities.

I've always thought paraneoplastic syndromes were fascinating. And, for tumors such as these that tend to present at advanced stage, perhaps an early clue to the diagnosis!
