Maryammm k There’s no right or wrong spelling of a name. Maryam is of arabic origin so the original spelling in arabic is just one way but translated to this alphabet there are multiple ways to spell it and multiple versions may all be correct. the ي can be translated to y or i so Maryam and Mariam are pronounced the same. just to give you another example with the name صفية, the arabic spelling is clear but the latin spelling could be Safia, Safeeya, Safiyyah, Safiye etc. and they are all pronounced the same.

You’re most likely right that she’s gonna look like Omar. The first born girl almost always looks like a girl version of her dad 🥰 And since you liked the names Elle and Elliana, here are some beautiful, arabic names that you might like:
    - Elize/Eliza: Unique, precious and joyful
    - Emma: Entire, all
    - Erina: Beautiful lady
    - Eira: Snow
    - Elham: Inspiration
And since you liked Noor (also spelled Nour), as a possible middle name, I think that a first name starting with a or e is great! For example Eira Nour. Or you could switch it up with using Noor/Nour/Noora/Noura as a first name. For example Noura Elize or Noor Alya/Alia. 🥰

These are “Arabic” baby names and not necessarily “Islamic”! Islam is for every culture and you don’t have to have to name your baby an Arabic name, but should have a good meaning no matter what language it is in! :)

You don’t have to name your baby an Arab name , muslims come from all cultures so any name as long as it’s not a bad meaning is perfectly ok!

    • @ramlaabdullahi7385
      @ramlaabdullahi7385 4 ปีที่แล้ว +19

@@laurak4961 Non-Arabs do not have to give their children Arabic names. What is required is to avoid names that are used only by the followers of other religions and which are usually used by the followers of those religions, such as George, Peter, John and so on. It is not permissible for Muslims to use these names, because that is imitating the Christians in the names that belong uniquely to them. End quote from Ahkaam Ahl al-Dhimmah by Ibn al-Qayyim (3/251).

ramla abdullahi Names like Haneen and Tasneem are arabic names, but as Leena said, they are not necessarily „islamic“ names. they don’t identify you as a Muslim, they identify you as an Arab. christian arabs for example use these names as well. However I understand what you mean, names like Maryam, Aisha and other names that the female sahaaba had are definitely Islamic and not just arabic names.

Since you really love “Elle” you could go with Aliya (an Arabic name)
    - Talia (has two meanings: The one who recites the Quraan and Heaven/Heaven’s light)
    - Lujain (is actually mentioned in the Quraan & means the shinny silver)
    - Tala/Talah/Talaa (has a few meanings depends on which language you search - Means gold in French - Means a young pretty girl in Greek - Means a small palm tree in Arabic - Means the morning star in Philippines{Tagalog}..)
In the GCC we usually go for the names of prophet Mohammed’s wives/daughters/...etc (Like Fatima, Amna, Amina, Aysha)
Or choose words from the Quraan that hold cute lovely meanings (Mariam-mentioned 34 times) / (Aayah-which is ofcourse what a Sura consists of. >> Plural is Aayat, also used for a girl’s name)
Or go for names of pretty things like
Dana (a kind of pearl) // Lulwa (an actual pearl) // Dalal (sweet, softness, tenderness)
