Product prices going up actually does make sense. Panini and Topps see how much people resell, and buy these products for so they just up the prices. Really just brought on by the consumer for the most part.
The problem is, the customers aren't getting to the retail prices for the most part imo. The breakers buy it all up and the small guys have to pay more just to get any.

I paid 16 a pack at target yesterday, bought the whole box, wasn't great, I think the mosaic blasters have been the best value. I have opened at least 25 megas and about 51 blasters and for me the blasters have been better. I opened the box of value packs yesterday and the best card I pulled was jayden daniels pink and michael pennix silver mosaic.
