Thanks so much for this video!! I tried to get the engine top back on for 30 minutes without success. I could see I needed to move the cam gear a little to get the shaft into the recess in the cover, but I couldn't figure it out. This came up in my search and I had the top back on in 5 minutes after turning the crankshaft as you recommended. Great clear instructions that really worked.

How do you go about cleaning the matting surfaces for a new gasket? I tried a wire wheel that gets messy, razor blade gauges the metal.
Joe Jirak I use s razor blade knife along with a wood chisel. I'll post a video of how I remove gaskets.
