It almost sounds like they used superglue to assemble that coupler. I’d probably stick it in a bucket of boiling water to see if that would free it. I really wanted to see that machine running, but I get that the customer is waiting for it and you have to send it, plus I’d guess it takes at least two people to operate safely. Is it operated from some kind of suspension equipment like a gantry or tripod?

I have a 61 inch Bad Boy zero turn. My covers are held on with a knob on each side. They already have a gap at the bottom on the outside edge from the factory but they would sometimes clog up like this while i'm cutting. I took them off and cut 1/2 inch off of them at the bottom all the way around and put them back on. My outer pulleys obviously stick out past the foot rest on the mower so i didn't want to remove them. But now that i've done this they rarely have anything stuck in them and when i'm done cutting i can easily either blow what little is in there or rinse it out easily with a hose. Works perfectly and still keeps you protected in case you step off the mower before the pulleys stop rotating completely.

Really good point, Warren! If the arbor isn’t real bad you can use a cold chisel filed correctly to swage the metal back into place so the blade will fit again. I’ve done this once so far and it only took me less than ten minutes. I discovered that technique from Russ The Deck Doctor. He’s the best mower deck channel I’ve ever found.

Oh dang! Just when I thought the stickers were an easy way to find part numbers! 😉 I’d probably cross out that number and write the correct one just above the sticker with an arrow to it so years down the line there’s no confusion.

I wonder about cutting slots into the covers so it’s possible to blow them out but still keep them in place, especially the metal ones on commercial units. Either that or fabricate some kind of tool-free system for covers so they’re actually designed to be quick and easy to remove and install. Any time I come across an engine shroud with through holes for the fasteners I get out the angle grinder and cut slots so the next time all I have to do is loosen the fasteners to remove the shroud.

Hey, Warren! Good to see you again - this time with 4 videos! Wow! 😂 I doubt I’ll ever see one of those in my shop, but interesting just the same. I fault the designers on this one. There should be some kind of sacrificial part like a snowblower shear pin instead of an actual gear which requires takedown to replace. I have every confidence in your ability to actually fabricate a collar with shear pin to make this machine more efficient and easy to service in the field for the operator instead of having down time in a shop. I’ll bet oil fields have sacrificial parts on drilling rigs for this exact purpose.

My 75755 brakes dont always stop the mower.from rolling. Even if i turn the engine off, it will keep rolling. I live on a hill so it is a pain keeping it sideways on the hill. Would this be a brake module issue? It seems like it always moves the brake rods but the brakes inside the transmisson just dont catch. Half the time it stops like normal though.

I found that this engine will not idle correctly if you do what you did. Maybe I missed something, I don't know. But my niece had a Graverly HD with the Kohler 7000 series motor and it would not run or idle correctly by just leaving the air vane on. When you idle it down the flap will go down and the engine will run rich because the air vane isn't keeping it opened up enough. Kohler makes a manual choke kit for this and it comes with a new carburetor, speed controller, wiring harness, choke linkage and oil sending unit. I put this kit on my nieces mower and it works fine. You will have to buy a choke cable and mount it on your mower somewhere, but mower runs just fine now. th-cam.com/video/eA0_nQlU6Bw/w-d-xo.htmlsi=f61q1Jw4iJwAONKn

Setting up a predator 670 on my sp-H stumper, it had a ch20 kohler with a toggle switch, so the wiring plug for the clutch connects to the harness that leads up to the ignition clutch switch and fuse, Can I basically by pass that if I hook it straight to the battery, the only difference will be that the machine can be started with pto on or off, on the old set up the machine can not be started if clutch is engaged and idea or help would be great

    • @wcjcnc

@@Rico-vms Yes, you can connect an electric clutch straight to the battery but you will still need an ON/OFF switch for the clutch so you can turn it off when you’re not using the machine so it doesn’t run the battery down. I would also put a 20 amp inline fuse in the clutch circuit just in case the clutch or switch short out in the future it doesn’t burn up all the wiring or start a fire.
