Love It I remember those days I had a 6 row 7000 on my 4630 Deere and then to a 1770 16 row in my 4560 Deere what a change. Keep up the good work brotha!!!
After all these years to hear the sound of that 466 engine that still sounds powerful. I've noticed that you gear up, and throttle back with light loads. You have a nice 1982-4440 there. I was able to tour the Waterloo Works when the 1982-40 series was being built/made. Your drone high in the sky showing your farm is outstanding. Very beautiful property you have.. Heck! I'm just glad that you are taking the time to film and post these video's. I just found you guy's yesterday.
1978-1981 "40" series have turn handle cab door handles. 1982 is the only year of the push button door opener. There is one more "clue for the 82", but I will keep that one to myself! :)
I had to repost this. I was thinking of the wrong tractor. The 4240 has the redesigned air intake manifold on the 1982. The 1978-1981 4240 manifold is different than the 1982. These Iron Horse tractors have many outer part design differences if you really look into them. I'm getting rusty
Nothing like old school johndeere tractors 4020 to the 4960s nothing better I grew up with the old john deeres I remember the first one my dad let me try to drive it was a 69 model 4020
I'm thinkin JD's next technical upgrade is going to be a drone control in the cab. I used to do my homework back in the day when running a big field. and that's a lot of field for a 4 box planter, woof+
that was a great video. little easier running the drone when you dont have to drive tractor too. that is beautiful country i know i keep saying that but i love to drive through there havent been for years hoping to take my dad to see see the midwest this summer he is a retired farmer he needs to see Iowa, and Illinois at least.
been to Iowa a lot my wife grew up on a farm in Fredericksburg just north of Waterloo.they had a flat farm. but we use to make a trip to Prairie Du Chien to get cat fish, you probably know the fish market there. that is a beautiful drive, there is a lot to see there. have you been to Spillville to see the billy clocks? when you live your whole life in this desert it is nice to see green in Illinois there is a lot to see in that country also love it..
Read the Description!
that very honest tractor model,It will be the first tractor that I bought in my life.
Nice to see a 4 row planter still in the field. Keep up the good work.
225 acres with a 4 row....god bless you....Hope you have a good season!!

Damn how did you know it was a 1982?

Oh yeah the door handle. Why do you have to keep the other one to ya self?

I use a 7200 for my wildlife food plots. Reliable old planter. Use in tilled soil & no till.

Like your videos, brings back alot of good memeories.
love the planter!
That 4440 isn't over kill at all. Lol my school farm has the same planter, they work great
that 4 row looks good. If i could grow corn i would kill for it.
Looks good!
I like paid for equipment!
john deere 4440 what a good tractor
That planter is going to get a work out with that many acres! But run it till she won't go anymore haha
Less acres of corn this year than last year.
Nice 👍 video.

Most of Iowa is flat. Make sure you check out Northeastern and Eastern Iowa to see the hills

how is your light bar mounted cuz ours is mounted to the plastic roof and it shakes in the feild
What the min hp tractor need to pull that planter
Like 50 or less. Lol
So u really don't know thanks
how many acres do you chop
15
Is there a specific reason that American farmers use mainly pull-type equitment ? Here in Europ is even a 12-row cornplanter a 3-point hitch type .
Your asking the wrong guy. Probably because it is better. lol
jacky bruckers I think that's because of accessibility. Alot easier to drop a pin than try to line up a 3 point
Midwest Allis Fan That is making sense .
jacky bruckers why do you guys use 3 point equipment?
lifeblood_ dirt Better traction and easier to maneuver . And carried machines are a lot cheaper .
Excellent, what is your crop yield?
220 average
We have a 4 row 7000 as well. Finger meters?
Whats the song called from 9:10
Is that muffler bent? kinda looks like its sitting back towards the intake a bit.
Probably
Have you thought about getting a 6 or a 8 row?
12 row
Thats even better
It will be a few years though. We need to update another piece of equipment first ;)
Whats tge 6:10 music called?
Why run wheel weights? Wouldn't that result in extra compaction or do y'all need to extra traction at points
Ran out of time to take some off. We would need some but not all.
Did you do all the planting or did your dad do some to great vid man.
Dad does all the planting
why no duals on the 4440?
Don't need them
I guess that makes sense since it's only a 4 row planter
We have a John Deere 7000 6 row
Nice
Are you I 36'' or 30"?
36
what row spacing?
36
6:32
YEE YEE!
