I had done a PSP before with CFW, but had misremembered the steps and the misclick on the left trigger, resultet in a software brick on a 3004 model. The third key combination left trigger and home, worked and I got into the system again and followed your steps and now its up and running again! Massive thank you for making these tutorials and software packs.

Clearly, the last tutorial video I watched was flat out wrong. They enabled the CFW in Infinity before installing it, which explains how I bricked my PSP to begin with. I had to do an actual web search outside of TH-cam before I stumbled across this video. Thanks for teaching me how to un-brick my 1001 PSP and install the CFW properly.

Your last video bricked my system, now I'm here at this video to get it unbricked Edit: Holding down home while powering on worked. It bricked because the Pro CFW wouldn't install right, so I installed LME instead, then switched to that in Infinity 2. Works now.
Seems like people digging up an old PSP has spiked up the last few weeks! Also have answered several brick concerns on my Infinity 2.0 video with the Home button fix, so figured a video would help more people out.
@@MrMario2011 The PS Vita is rare and expensive in the US, no wonder people now would look this console that also plays PS1 natively. The PSP has good titles, but the screen is not the best though. It seems there are some IPS mods!

Thankfully my 3000 had a soft brick, So I managed to do the Power button and hold the Home button method and it worked! I follow everything as follow and I manage to install LME again! Your videos are a life saver!

Just commenting to say thank you, and that the home button holding worked on my 3000. That said, it showed identical symptoms to the 1000. It is 6.61 infinity 2.3, on I think a Japanese PSP 3000
Ironically, the pandora fix was what allowed me to hack my late slim in the first place, I borrowed a 3.2 OE FAT back in the day and made a eeprom pandora from a spare and thankfully it still booted up, but my Go model proved much harder to tame until 6.35. For nostalgia, the slim still runs 550 gen as I used years ago and is currently being restored to working order

I know this video is a bit old but it is great. For those working on a psp go, it might be worth a mention that you need to place the chronoswitcher and update on the consoles internal storage not the m2 card.

i might have to get my old psp 2000 out of storage to try this, i had the thing since around 2007 and had ran pretty much every CFW that came along from that point, up through 5.05, 6.20, etc and then finally managed to brick it somehow with infinity.

I just got a 3000, 04g. Thankfully im not here because it's bricked, i installed infinity and cfw successfully. But it's still nice to be educated on how to use it, just in case. Since this video it's also been updated to support 3000, and 04g among others, so i feel safer knowing this lol.

Anyone wondering what the home button actually does when you power on your psp, it's basically safemode and it'll only run the os and nothing else, the L button is usually used to go into the recovery mode and those two are your best shots
Very thorough and clearly explained. It worked for me. This is how all tutorials should be. BTW can you delete the 3 leftover folders from the game list afterwards? There is 'Infinity 2', 'Pro Fast Recovery' and 'Pro Update' folders.
Hey, what’s up Mario, great tutorial. Out of all of the ones I’ve watched. This is the most relatable one so far. I just have one issue, everything goes great until the infinity installation. After it installs and it reboots, I don’t have the option of any of the two custom firm wears. Do you know where I might be going wrong? I have a PSP 1000.
@@MrMario2011 okay sounds good. Would you happen to know where I went wrong? Should I have put them in the PSP route folder? Just wanting to know where I might have went wrong.
So when I redid the process, I did every step and when I’m finished on my root, there is an extra file that says PSP(1) and all the files are in there instead of the root PSP file.
In the meantime there is a new unbricking option for PSP 3000, Go, Street and some of the newer 2000 Models on the way. If you are willing to tinker, just go ahead and search for it on wololo.net. :)

I need help! After installing the custom firmware aka going into pro Update and pressing x twice, the system reboots, but my buttons are all locked except for volume and brightness buttons. When I do the button combination to reset the psp, the buttons work again, but the custom firmware doesn't work
Great tutorial! I followed this and it worked for about 2-3 days, played a lot. But after that it bricked again, first crashing in every game and now it won't turn on again. Its a 1000 model and I could tried the pandora battery method. Do I try that or could be other thing?

Always comes down to missing that one step: You'll brick if you enable permanent CFW before installing CFW.

Yep, Infinity 2 really helped out! These days this video is mostly used by people who don't follow the instructions in order for Infinity 2.

Launch recovery menu and you can find that in the registry hacks section.

Install Infinity, then install CFW. If you do not see the CFW files then you put them in the wrong folders.

I need help! After installing the custom firmware aka going into pro Update and pressing x twice, the system reboots, but my buttons are all locked except for volume and brightness buttons. When I do the button combination to reset the psp, the buttons work again, but the custom firmware doesn't work

Great tutorial! I followed this and it worked for about 2-3 days, played a lot. But after that it bricked again, first crashing in every game and now it won't turn on again. Its a 1000 model and I could tried the pandora battery method. Do I try that or could be other thing?
If you weren't actively messing around with the firmware then it would be something else.
