Hi Catherine Having a lazy Sunday morning and catching up with my flower videos on TH-cam. Loved this one, corncockles and cornflowers are fab together
A lazy Sunday morning sounds lovely! Hope you enjoyed catching up with TH-cam. Corncockles and cornflowers are a greats combo. My aim this week is to see if I can get some Bells of Ireland germinating easily 🤞
Thank you Catherine. I really enjoy this kind of video. Very informative. Lovely to see the flowers you are discussing in your arrangements and bouquets. I have some purple ones that have overwintered lovely in the greenhouse, will be ordering some of the white variety they look very pretty.
That’s great you have some overwintered purple corncockles looking great. It hasn’t been an easy winter to get them through. The white ones are lovely, slightly bigger flowers than the purples ones and gorgeous to use in arrangements x
I grew white ones for the first time this year and I am madly in love! Will be sowing tons for next season, both white and purple. I have yet to see any pinks.
Hi Kay, the white ones are amazing aren’t they. I love the markings on them against the white petals. I am so looking forward to seeing what the pink ones turn out like this season. Thanks for watching 😊
Fantastic content Catherine 🫶🏻🌱🌺🌸🌷🌸🌺🙏🏻thank you I have some autumn sown sweet peas in an un heated greenhouse that are waking up to grow in a big way ☀️ 👁⚡️🌱💚🐉💚..😳😃still getting frosts here in Cornwall. If they are cool flowers am I able to harden them off and plant out when there is still a chance of frost 🤔 big snow chill heading across the island next week
Thank you 😊 I would start getting them hardened off but the weather is unpredictable for the next week or two. It keeps varying between lots of snow and very cold to higher temps and rain in our forecast so I am not sure what we are going to get. I am going to start hardening my hardy annuals off and aim to get them out mid March when hopefully the worst of the weather will be past by then. Sweet peas and hardy annuals can tolerate a little bit of cold but it’s just how cold is it going to get?!
Hi, I am really glad you enjoyed it. I have lots of different videos like this I want to do. Some might be later in the year as I need to film a bit more. Buplereum is one that will be coming but a bit later as want to get some more footage for that one. If there’s any others you would like that I do grow here just let me know 😊
1st time corncockle grower here 🙋🏻♀️ I’ve got some corncockles in my polytunnel - they seem to have gone quite heavy and floppy - is that normal?! I’ve put some horizontal support netting for them to grow through which is helping a bit. Thanks!
Thanks for watching 😊 They do get tall and have thin and wiry stems so would need the support netting to keep them upright. I don’t think mine get that heavy and floppy though. I am wondering if it’s because they are in the polytunnel. They are cool flowers so don’t mind cold temperatures and become quite robust plants overwintered outside. I wonder if they are floppy because it’s warmer in the polytunnel so shooting up faster and therefore weaker stems. How warm has your polytunnel been?
It does get very warm in there and they are already very large plants. I have some outside too and they are much smaller and not floppy at all. I will see how they progress and what the season brings! Thanks

❤Corn cockle is my favorite flower and I love you so much ❤
Corncockle are great flowers and I especially like this new light pink variety this year. Thanks for watching.

This was fantastic! Thank you. I look forward to the Orlaya video. I was wondering if you're going to speak on Buplerum?

Not sure if I missed it, but are these a full sun flower? Partial shade? Ty
Hello, thanks for watching, they will do best and thrive in full sun but can tolerate part shade.
