On the other hand, mid doesn't guarantee anything because you are just gambling the kill and the other mid's teammates not showing up, for which the only exception are enemy overextensions under t1. Ganking mid also requires a fuck ton of walking downtime, which puts me behind everybody else for no reason. Now I am not saying it is completely worthless, but it is WAY less appealing nowadays considering the objectives and tools at hand, on top of the prospect of giving your carry a boon on the farm race and delaying the enemy's early game by fucking with their offlaner. If I walk to the mid-lane it's either because I am playing as a Pudge, Mirana or someone else that benefits from good angles, or go for it after going for the river rune or the enemy's bounty rune, in which the objective is the rune and not the gank. Agree with you wholeheartedly. Why walk mid and gamble for 1 kill when we can easily flank 2 enemies, get regen (lotus) and give Pos 1 some breathing room. Additionally, the potential of buy back then quickly rejoin Rosh contest created so much fun! Should have been, at least, A tier change.
The twin gates lessen the importance of mid lane. That is why its more efficient to gank sidelanes. The only reason why you go midlane is to secure a rune thats it
I feel like the Rosh change makes it way harder to contest it. That is a big downside since it was a pretty big objective where a lot of interesting fights happened. Now you literally have to walk to the end of the map while they basically finished it already.
True. The general idea was good, but instead of evening the chances it now heavily favours one team or the other depending on the time of day. There should be some randomness or manipulation involved. Say for example: - every 2 minutes, there's a 60% chance that he changes position - if a team falls more than 5k behind in net worth, it will always be on their side (until they catch up, then it reverts to normal day/night rules) - when a watcher runs out, Rosh changes - some rules that block him from running when 4+ players are in the pit
I disagree only with the 40% map increase being C tier. It should definitely go up to at least a high B tier. While you're correct that now there's more space to farm, it's also scarier because the enemy team can gank you from all directions. As a carry, if you lose that tier 1 safe lane tower early, you're pretty much playing hide and seek for the next 20 minutes. I personally like the bigger map since my main three heroes are TB, Wind, and Necro. With TB and Necro, there's just so much more farm and patterns are better connected. With Wind, trees are everywhere for easy shackles and I can actually chase down kills since there's more map space to cover which makes it harder for slow heroes to escape. Overall, the game has never been in a better spot I'd say, both for players and spectators.
For me, the worst thing they did in recent updates was make it impossible to visit the enemy's profile during the picking phase. You'd have no idea if the enemy is a smurf or not.
100% agree with tormentor. There should be 1 tormentor in a neutral spot on the map. And it drops the shard and gives more gold. Spawns at a certain time and should offer a good enough reward that it forces a team fight for it when it spawns.

the backpack and TP scroll changes just make the game more forgiveable for players who struggle to manage items I don't mind the old backpack, you could just build your items in the shop and then ship them completely in one go, not really a big feature imo however they probably did it so supports can buy more items and have more fun, so it's good for supports, along with the other new support items
Dude, it's big feature for late game. You can carry refresher, bkb there when they are in CD, boots, you can carry consumables like cheese, refresher shard, lotus there. Wards, smoke, dust. Also if you don't have enough slots and you wait for item, you can put some item you want to sell in backpack so you don't need to go to the shop to sell them. Backpack is very good and extremely useful change. Just like tp slot.
I fucking hate the lotuse fountain. It just changed the whole equiliberium of the lane. Wands, faerie fires and supports with heal was not enough, now we have to keep track of that shit to when killing in lane.
Haven't played in years and the game changed so much. I will say after many games never used the outside of the map, portals, or those tormentor things.
WOW i cought a blitzspanks video right after release, discovered you 3 days ago and been maining TA and binge watching your videos since, keep up the great work my man
I actually agree with almost every rating! I just think that The Tormentor really has the potential to be something great (and you gave some very good ideas on how to improve the concept imo).
while this video is good, it focused basically only on 7.33 and 7.23. There are so many game changing updates in the past that should've been mentioned. For example, just to list a few VERY MAJOR CHANGES: 1. remember when str, dex and int gave extra magic resist, movement speed and magic dmg if you are a hero of that type? if you are a dex hero in late game with yasha and butterfly, you basically dont need boots. 2. major change to melee heroes, who basically got a free stout shield from the very start. I dont remember which patch. 3. when roshan started giving aghs, shard, and refresher shard? 4. the rid of SIDE SHOP?? 5. limits on the number of sentries you can buy? Also wards becoming free? 6. jungle pulling giving the puller some gold?
i remember changing roles from mid to offlane when water rune came out lol that shit ruin the fun of snowballing and stomping the lane bc the lane can be saved by prioritizing on getting a rune instead of the normal walk of shame to fountain or waiting for your courier to deliver consumables
What if the day/night cycle was different? Instead of having the map instantly switch to day/night every 5 minutes, you see the night/day work its way across the map.
Add a dedicated slot for boots, valve. Sick and tired of having to drop boots and feel like I'm crawling everywhere because i have to make room for aegis or refresher or gem or whatever. It's not fun. And losing a team fight because you weren't there in time is frustrating.
The problem is BKB change has straight up killed some heroes. Sven and Razor are completely unplayable in pos1 right now, Luna is now significantly more frail. This means my only good pos1 is spectre, so I'm stuck playing pos 4 (Love universal change basically buffing the hell outta Nyx and Venge tho)
How can you put neutral Items on A-Tier is beyond me. The fact that it is an unnecessary RNG element that can have a huge boost on certain heroes alone is reason enough to not put it any higher than D-Tier. Adding the fact that they felt it needed so many overhauls (Limiting to 1 per Hero, Designated Itemslots and Token Rework) shows it was a bad change.
Now you mention it, Black King Bar fulfill the same role as Ash Blossom (or handtrap in general, from YuGiOh). Ever since their introduction, both Dota 2 and YuGiOh now revolve around said addition (and allow the dev to be suck at their balancing job), to the point, and both also allow YOU to play the game.
True Title: BEST and WORST CHANGES in Dota 2 as a TA spammer LMAO I only have two things to strongly disagree tho, the Rosh honestly would rank it A-tier... (in addition to your point of teams camping in top lane) it made the players make use and explore the corners of the maps that are previously just useless stretch of wilderness, second the Water rune gives you a lifeline for when you're losing your lane, i personally would rank it as A-tier as well.
My biggest gripe with the universal heroes change is how it's broken both ways. It made some heroes incredibly busted, while it keeps others almost unplayable. Mostly because the only way Eisfrosch could come up to "balance" the heroes at the time was to reduce every stat on them. With cores, it's not as big of a deal, as they are going to get the farm anyway and mitigate the stats loss with items. But then, there are heroes like Dazzle and Dark Willow, who already had pretty meh stats before the change and now they have even shittier stats. And unlike a, say...Venomancer, they don't even have good ways to farm some items, and the items they are going to eventually buy aren't likely to give many stats anyway. Also, on a more minor note, let's be real. Some heroes feel like they were put there just to keep all 4 categories nice and symmetrical, but not because they truly feel like they belong there.
wdym dude? Universal change is good as f. It made me climb out from 1k when my bozo team performs badly I just buy double wraithband and medallion and start soloing enemy support on my own then get midas and farm counter items and shit on enemy carry with sod+my team. iF IT WAS old attribute system my dazzle and other supports that are universal would be so hard to transition into carry since the utility items only give 1 attribute meaning I would get lesser right click damage and utility
No Techies' entire kit getting reworked and nerfed to oblivion, rendering him utterly playless in any game, forcing Techies mains to back to oc Dota where Techies was still the nightmare fuel that he is.
I don't agree on your take on the tormentor doesn't give gold, it does. imagine saving 1300 for shard on supports it really helps them especially position 5 who buys team item all the time (wards, smoke, dust etc etc...)
I think the water rune is okay, but it should spawn at 4 minutes but not 2, its impossible to pressure someone early on waves because you fully harras them down, they just get bottle, use all yhe charges, get water rune, use it and gain 2 more charges, so weird
BKB change was something I advocated for yeaaars before finally dropped the game for good last year. I wish I was there to see it changed. Now, another problematic item everyone makes is Blink dagger, and it needs reduced cast range and maybe price increase. Blink is a bit different than BKB because you have to make BKB to play the game, but Blink has this fun factor to it being able to jump around. It only has too long range and shouldn't allow to jump outside of screen borders.
shrine honestly felt like some missplay on valve / icefrog side.. it intent to keep the engagement in the lane so heroes less likely to walk home after small skirmish but the fact that it exists as is, a free heal no matter what, made it become the turtling style gameplan. esp when it exits behind T3... it honestly could come back with some kind of remake which heal players that channel it a-la salve so any damage you receive will cancel the heal while additionally break the shrine in process so i cant be used again for some time..
In my 2500+ hours of dota, its crazy to think that I could actually count on one hand the amount of times I bought bkb on my carry, yet the changes affected me so much when enemies bought it that it feels different now (crusader 5- Archon 2 btw)
Blitz's opinion on bounty runes being a fun way to "engage more fights around the map" is an excellent opinion. This might be a hot take but I actually think Dota needs to rip off Heroes of the Storm's mercenary camps for this exact reason. Putting a camp or two somewhere on the map that will push a lane for you if you take it would be a great way to add another objective onto the map that gives an obvious boost in power to the team that secures it, without being too fucking broken or benefitting only cores. I also want more things like this on the map!
my suggestion for the next dota update: Tormentor in Rosh pit and gives off more rewards, Tormentor and Roshan will exchange places every day and night cycles. Roshan will now have his own TP animation and will not use the portal anymore. Tormentor will just pop-up like it used to if its time to exchange places with Roshan. Roshans TP can be cancelled so you can have the chance to battle Roshan and Tormentor(if it pops up and Rosh didnt left)
Idk. I'm still salty for that patch where they strip techies of his arsenal of bombs and left him with a nerfed version of his previous Q as his new ultimate.
Almost every one happy that techies is changed. It was too annoying to play with him, no matter he is enemy or ally. Techies the only hero that got reports from both allies and enemies at the same time.
As a pos 5/4 player: duck cores for hating tormentors. You can never get them to take them for they wont get the shard, and you cant do it on your own. And duck you saing they suck, for 1400 g reward is hugh for a support. Plus you can stack to make the trip worth the cores trip. Tormentors are awesome and i wont hear any other opinion. PS: its the ultimate opportunity to assert dominance, if you just take out the enemys tormentor at like min 25. just show whos boss.
I always said it and I'm gonna say it again. Shrines would've been recieved more positively, if they'd make 'em behave like Healing Salves. Sure you could heal there like it was in the game, BUT if an enemy hero damaged you, it would cancel out the heal. It would still not be great, but the reception of it wouldn't be that bad imo.
PS: The tormentor issue you said in the video, for carries it sucks to go out of their way, BUT ... as a support I always stack the 2 ancient camps 2-3 times for 'em, so their long stroll would be beneficial for them. Nowdays as a support one big chunk of the game should be spent by stacking camps anyway, if the Tormentor was mainly made for supports, this is like the only way how to get your carry to help you out with it. In pubs anyway, getting your carry to do something that doesn't involve farming in the early game is impossible, he might had a super good lane, left the lane with 5 kills, 0 deaths, missed only like one creep wave, yet they'll still prefer the farm over catching the panicking enemy or taking objectives and pushing with the advantage you have. Stacking the 2 ancient camps is just a juicy neuron activator for these, so whenever they get to the ancient camp closer to the Tormentor? Sometimes you still need to spam click that fucking cube anyway, but 8/10 times they'll help you out :^)
the other day i had a game were the rosh tp bugged and rosh started running from one end of the map over and over for like 20 minutes then he figured it out

Would it make sense to make back pack slot purchasable ? With an increasing price for each additional slot.
@@emmanuelwilliamquinton9152 nahh, it'll only benefit the cores, as supports can't farm shit
@@keratos92 I Agree with this. Support who need backpack the most will get hit like truck if they need to buy it because their net worth was just bad
LETS GOOOO OUR FAVORITE DOTA 2 CONTENT CREATOR IS BACK!
with an old man slow hand like me, the memory of drop items to the ground to upgrade one item is a nightmare. So the backpack sure be S++
For example, just to list a few VERY MAJOR CHANGES:
1. remember when str, dex and int gave extra magic resist, movement speed and magic dmg if you are a hero of that type? if you are a dex hero in late game with yasha and butterfly, you basically dont need boots.
2. major change to melee heroes, who basically got a free stout shield from the very start.
"It is the item that allows ice frog to be bad at his job" I actualy never thought about that, but holy shit, it makes a lot of sense
I'd quite enjoy the defenders gate if they were on the other side of both bases lol, easy access to that 1 corner camp would be much nicer
The wisdom rune creates a lot of fights and counter play in pro matches where it's essential to secure it, I think it deserves an A tier imo
What if the day/night cycle was different? Instead of having the map instantly switch to day/night every 5 minutes, you see the night/day work its way across the map.
This is the 10 year anniversary video that we have all been waiting for.
"Undying free revive"
-RIP.
I miss it.
Blitz rocking that "risk of rain 2" music in the background!!❤ 29:57
I really didn't expect to hear this masterpiece in a video about dota 2
I suddenly remembered the time where exp gain, gpm bonus and respawn time reduction talents is a thing
How can you put neutral Items on A-Tier is beyond me.
The fact that it is an unnecessary RNG element that can have a huge boost on certain heroes alone is reason enough to not put it any higher than D-Tier.
Adding the fact that they felt it needed so many overhauls (Limiting to 1 per Hero, Designated Itemslots and Token Rework) shows it was a bad change.
talent tree replacing bonus stats was when icefrog started power creeping dota2 mechanics
The worst change is frankly the limit on consumanles. As an offlaner who gets abandoned my pos 4, being unable to ship out a lot of regen just sucks
One of the best video that explains perfectly the state of the game right now
Are you tired of waiting for a blitz spanks video? Not anymore 👌👌
True Title: BEST and WORST CHANGES in Dota 2 as a TA spammer LMAO
I only have two things to strongly disagree tho, the Rosh honestly would rank it A-tier... (in addition to your point of teams camping in top lane) it made the players make use and explore the corners of the maps that are previously just useless stretch of wilderness, second the Water rune gives you a lifeline for when you're losing your lane, i personally would rank it as A-tier as well.
Wisdom runes give xp the both the hero that gets it and the hero on their team with the lowest xp. So even if the carry takes it the support benefits
It made me climb out from 1k when my bozo team performs badly I just buy double wraithband and medallion and start soloing enemy support on my own then get midas and farm counter items and shit on enemy carry with sod+my team.
iF IT WAS old attribute system my dazzle and other supports that are universal would be so hard to transition into carry since the utility items only give 1 attribute meaning I would get lesser right click damage and utility
small brain
No Techies' entire kit getting reworked and nerfed to oblivion, rendering him utterly playless in any game, forcing Techies mains to back to oc Dota where Techies was still the nightmare fuel that he is.
I don't agree on your take on the tormentor doesn't give gold, it does. imagine saving 1300 for shard on supports it really helps them especially position 5 who buys team item all the time (wards, smoke, dust etc etc...)
Missed: Picking heroes at the same time, techies finally reworked, old repel, diffusal having charges.
Probably not as important for the majorities, but the new Dota 2 Reborn UI is what got me started playing a lot
U missed the WORST UPDATE ever : Techies rework....
*BEST
If the side Gates allowed for 3 second invisibility or 3 second haste, it would be more impactful for the defense team, otherwise, yeah, its useless.
8:03 i agree. Look at every game or even every tournament. 5 gossamer against TA, 4 philly boy when losing, 5 ninja gear. It's kinda insane.
Selecting neutral items is the best recent change in Dota & not allowing people to hoard them anymore
Ah, you are that one carry in my team that doesn't build bkb😂
@@yarikyaryi Yup, every game.
You didn’t have to mention your rank, it was already implied lmao
That explained why u re on crusader - archon despite 2.5k hours on dota man
Ballista was so good its just plain broken
Blitz ranking dota patches: i sleep
Blitz announcing he's streaming again: real shit
❤❤❤
Just adding neutrals is an S tier update, BUT CHANGING THEM LATER SO PLAYERS CAN CHOOSE WHICH ONE THEY WANT IS AN S TIER UPGRADE
I also want more things like this on the map!
tormentor exist = "i won't buy shard even the shard upgrade is very very good" mindset exist
I used to grief blue wards when other support isn't buying them and use them to block enemy camps to annoy enemy carry
7.33 removed that completely
I think the report system for the community's best players to judge others is also a big patch that should have been included.
if you want my opinion, the tormentors was the worst change in dota 2 (as a support player) and the courier was the best one so far
this is the type of guy that wont want to kill the tormentor to help his supports...
He likes changes/additions that engage players to fight
Also him putting wisdom rune on C, like that is always a battle ground for supports
my suggestion for the next dota update:
Tormentor in Rosh pit and gives off more rewards, Tormentor and Roshan will exchange places every day and night cycles. Roshan will now have his own TP animation and will not use the portal anymore. Tormentor will just pop-up like it used to if its time to exchange places with Roshan. Roshans TP can be cancelled so you can have the chance to battle Roshan and Tormentor(if it pops up and Rosh didnt left)
a random tormentor on the rosh pit so weird
Idk. I'm still salty for that patch where they strip techies of his arsenal of bombs and left him with a nerfed version of his previous Q as his new ultimate.
Bring back the old can't even say it or YT will be mad skill. Sui**de techies
Almost every one happy that techies is changed. It was too annoying to play with him, no matter he is enemy or ally. Techies the only hero that got reports from both allies and enemies at the same time.
Wow the change was so bad that the hero went from totally unpicked in pro scene to highly contested in every tournament smh
you are doing this video as midlaner , some are really good for supports
Blitz you can also add the time when blink was changed so it has cd when you are damaged by heroes and their units.
I believe in you
Edit : Shrine with meepo is just "god" like you could never die and your gpm just goes 1k+
The tormentor is there to remind you how shitty or awesome your team is (as a SEA player)
Hex not disabling passives is the beginning of the end imho
We used to fight even our team mates for a single fookin bounty rune. Fun times.
PS: its the ultimate opportunity to assert dominance, if you just take out the enemys tormentor at like min 25. just show whos boss.
tormentor is the most extra that gaben added in dota
As a support player, I freaking hate Wisdom Rune, make playing support so much boring, if you have a bad game you can be lvl 5 by 12 or 14 min
Hope you'll hit 100k subscribers soon, funny content, keep it up
I always said it and I'm gonna say it again.
Sometimes you still need to spam click that fucking cube anyway, but 8/10 times they'll help you out :^)
the other day i had a game were the rosh tp bugged and rosh started running from one end of the map over and over for like 20 minutes then he figured it out
Back in the Day, TPs used to be 125 Gold
And back then, gold was Hard to come by.
Ready for more 10 years of love and hate with this game blitz?
