i'm having a hard time finding anywhere it is written in the regulations that the leader cant be less than 18in, can you cite the code for it? great demonstration on the leader tying!

I know that all the shops that make leaders make them at least 18 inch and I have always been told and read they have to be 18 inches but I would call fish and game to verify before I used a less than 18 inch leader, im sorry I can’t site the code , but fish and game have made it hard with all the regulations and no books and they change stuff mid season.
I was taught the same thing, and grew up fishing for salmon in the rivers of British Columbia, but I was under the impression that it was simply for presentation . I would never use a leader shorter than 18 inches but never considered there was a law against it. Some areas the locals cry flossing if you bottom bounce or bar fish with too long a leader . But no advantage could be made with one that’s too short , as far as I’m concerned, chances diminish shorter than 18.
@@joshhanna7047 I personally like the shorter leader but my buddy bill likes the long leaders and we both catch fish. I think the main thing is putting something in front of them that they want to eat.

Ya I have caught fish there in the past but not that day I do better by the power lines and that is were most people fish.
What I do is do a regular leader with a Rubber egg sinker with a rubber in the middle to hold it so it don't go back on you easy simple stupid
