A brilliant guitarist. I was fortunate to see him in concert in Shrewsbury in 2014. He somehow imitated the sound and tone of my 2 year old son saying "uh-oh" with his guitar and used it as a recurring theme in his improvisation. Wish I had filmed it, it was brilliant, as was the rest of his concert. Love his arrangement of La Foule.
This is the Roland Dyens whose playing and music I fell in love in the 90's. Imho, he was and still is the greatest musician on a classical guitar. Improvisation, composition, interpretation... he had it all. The man had more sublety in his little finger than a whole busload of so called virtuosos. I will miss you Roland.
With arrangements and harmonic depth, complexity and intrigue, this guy was on another planet and is still miles ahead of everything we hear today. His original compositions were also astonishing. I recently just heard a cover of someone playing his arrangement of Bluesette ... Another Show stppper. His arrangement of Nuages and night in Tunisia are unreal, in fact pick one, anyone, they are all astonishing - a great men, a legend of guitar. Sorely missed
It’s so sad to watch him play especially at his peak . The man is genius in every respect . Dare I say that he was the best guitarist ever . What a loss and from what I’ve read about him he was a genuinely kind man . He raised the guitar to a level that cannot be duplicated.
Beautiful Roland Dyens, his masterful playing, his humour, his interaction with the audience is just phenomenal and unequaled. He will always have a special place in our hearts .Thank you so much for posting this jewel of a video.
Such a beautiful concert! Roland Dyans visited my home with some friends from St.Louis Classical Guitar several years ago.He and I jammed on the tune Blue Bossa! That was thrilling!!
He was such an amazing musician! I, too, was lucky enough to see and hear him live in concert twice. He was wonderful indeed. Thank you for posting this.
Wow..👌 Unique in approach and interpretation.. 👌Variations are also more special with technical nuances especially and harmony.. Good job.. 👏Warm cheers.. 😘Thanks so much.. 🙏
Bernard Lallement.

Indeed !
He was a very funny and happy guy indeed. Always joking around and very approachable. I met him in a guitar festival almost 10 years ago.

That first piece reminds me of a thorny cactus baking in the desert sunlight or noodles randomly jiggling in a pot of boiling water.
He plays like a magician !
simply the best .... compared to todays "famous" players he is still light years ahead
He was not only an excellent interpreter, but also an arranger and a f... composer! It's insane.
Superb concert !!
The master Dyens in a great moment.

Nem semmi koncert! Köszi a feltöltést!
Bravo!!!👏👏👏👏
Superbe ! Merci !
How can guitar be played this well?

Nice video, considering how long ago it was a and such things. Thanks for posting it.
What a treat! He definitely played with a lot of pizzazz. It must have been a great concert to attend in person.
How is he so good damn
The last encore piece was done with less than his best efforts as if to finish the concert after such being exhausted!!
Priceless
What a Treat!
Thank you very much. Good!!!!!!!!!☆(TS)

This was before Roland's hair fell out creating a massive bald spot on his forehead.
