Hey, Hey, Hayyyy Part 2 lol. He really is really cleaver with his words. Sometimes too cleaver because I'll see reactors just smiling and slowly bopping their heads while they have a 1,000 yard stare on their faces because their brains broke trying to keep up with all of Ren's metaphors and bars haha. And like you I never catch everything the first time with any musicians lyrics, but Ren is a word Santa because even after 20 listens to certain songs I'll catch a line or hidden meaning to something and get all excited about it only to look around are realize and half talking out loud and half speaking gibberish with my earpods in and everyone on the train is looking out me funny like I'm just another crazy person because New York City is fullll of crazy people nowadays haha Wait till you do his song "1990" even though I was an 80's kid there's soooooo many awesome pop culture references that it's a trip down memory lane!
Honestly, I love a song that keeps giving like that. Even for months. I have another artist that I love that some may never catch all of his bars because you have to know him.. his story. I love intelligent writing that gives me little gifts later. Ren fits the bill. Just a part of a verse could be an entire video/breakdown.

Lyrics that make you think and lyrics that speak what's on my mind or how I feel about something but they write it in such a way that I could never express outwardly as well as they could. Like I know what I'm thinking but when I say it, it comes out like word vomit. But when they write their lyrics it's so effortlessly done and sounds so easy to say. Ren's song "Chalk Outlines" is like that. When I was on antidepressants years ago I tried to explain that walking dead feeling. Having absolutely zero feelings or emotions and just existing in a skin bag was no fun haha.
