CRAZY Foreshadowing in INSIDE OUT...

- Hey, ever notice this in Inside Out? Riley's parents' emotions drop a hint about what's gonna go down with her own emotions. It's like a sneak peek into the future, you know? So, Riley's parental emotions are like the upgraded version-way more balanced, not stuck in just one vibe, and they've got this big console where everyone gets a say. And guess who's running the show in Riley's mom's head? It's our girl Sadness, taking the lead, as she is the first to notice Riley's emotional struggles during dinner. As the movie later explains, one of Sadness's crucial roles is empathy. Cool, right?

Anger being the lead emotion in Riley’s Dad’s mind isn’t necessarily anger, but more likely protectiveness. I couldn’t really think of any examples
pride
Gritt and strictness
I think he was supposed to represent Riley’s dad’s stress. Since it’s shown he’s high up in decision-making for his company, He probably has to make a lot of stressful decisions and in a higher up position probably has to be more blunt and direct. So it would make sense for anger to be leader (since stress wasn’t established as an emotion yet, which imo is an emotional state too)
@@CaliberBlueadding to that, you ever noticed his “second in command” is fear? Anger and Fear could be the “Stress” that he has to constantly deal with at work
Not just that, Anger leading for him doesn’t necessarily means he’s an angry person, but perhaps a stern protective on
He’s protective cause he fears for his family’s safety so maybe that’s why his Fear is the second in command to his Anger? His Fear is why he’s stern and protective?
How about being stern
This is absolutely the BEST theory i've seen about Inside Out
it’s not a theory he just said sadness can feel empathy
Yes true
@@pattik_fr I like that
Makes sense
What is the theory?
I think that Disgust leads my mind.
lolll
Me too tbh

It is pretty interesting how one simple concepted film contains such details. It is just explanation of emotions, yet you notice more and more. Great touch
I always liked the Mom's emotions.
Sadness is the lead emotion, because i think she might have depression or something. But the other emotions are positioned lower like theyre lifting her up. Rileys mom has depression but she keeps herself healthy and happy and uses her sadness to help identify sadness in others.
My head canon is that Riley’s mom is very sincere and that’s why sadness is her lead, her dad is very passionate and that’s why anger is his lead. Riley is very positive and that’s why joy is her lead. I don’t think everyone must be run by joy/happiness and if not then they’re depressed/anger issues.
Damn bro you’re wrong. Riley's mom does NOT have depression. Sadness is the lead emotion because she is empathetic and not depressed. She is sincere and compassionate; the reason why sadness is the lead emotion in her.
@@honestybaddie Exactly. If anger is the lead emotion doesn't mean they will have anger issues. Same goes for sadness. Anger indicates Pride in Riley’s dad.
My mom,basically
Maybe not depression, but just hardships in general. Depression is like a parasite, rather than something caused by sadness. Depression can form solely due to traumatic events, or even hormone imbalance like how PPD is caused. Long-term trauma to the brain that causes the brain to rewire a little bit and allow more harmful or pain-inducing chemicals or hormones into the body or smth
I’m not too versed in brain sciences but it’s just observations. I’m big on learning anything that interests me so I have a lot of small facts of every “thing” (like “science” or its sub-categories. Imagine a 3-D filing system with files inside bigger files. A multi-dimensional web of information. So, technically, just imagine neuron structure entirely dedicated to building and storing information on topics in detail of general things; aka actual memory in your brain. It’s tiny. A microscopic web of living DNA solely responsible for working in the most important organ of the body: the brain).
Also, the memory ball/orbs in the parents minds contain a fair few blended colours, per the film's resolution and recognition of emotional integration
I was wondering why Mom Sadness wasn't acting like a baby.
Might be because the mom sadness was grown up, maybe in the next movie we will see all the emotions get a little more mature since Riley is growing up
because she’s an adult lol
@@itz_dakota7773SPOILERS!
You are correct! Well, it was Joy who matured first though
@@DZTWoo awesome to know! Hopefully I'll get to see it soon
Literal Emotional maturity
Riley's parents not having Anxiety is a plot hole. Should have thought of that character if they going to show other people's emotions.
They could have put them In the back room (since anxiety isn’t an everyday feeling for most people)
But dont you lose Anxiety as you grow up? I may be wrong but most adults feel Like they dont have any Anxiety in them
@@funguy3259 Oh you absolutely do not, some people are just more chill a lot of the time
@@funguy3259 Haha, no.
We adults learn how to conceal and hide anxiety, so as to show us strong and dependable to kids, but it's very much present in out lives.
You grow up when you notice how adults are not invincible nor always right, as they are as human as any kid out there.
@@funguy3259 I'm 30 and oh boy how wrong are you...
I think my brain has 2 leaders, Joy & Sadness cause I’m an optimist but I also feel empathy for even inanimate objects.

@@meadowchanyukikosangacha2643 I thought jokes were meant to make people laugh
@@azaliaavalos3987You are a joke, but nobody's laughing.
Since Riley’s mum doesn’t have anxiety or envy as an emotion, I think anxiety and envy branch out during your development and eventually become a part of the main emotion they correspond to. Anxiety gets absorbed by fear, etc. Because the emotions are still developing inside Riley so they aren’t strong enough to do it all on their own.
I wonder what will happen in inside out 2
Me to
Me thre
Me for
Me fiev
me socks
I would also like to note that the parents ones have seats and I feel like that contributes to a lot more than anyone talks about like they’re probably all fighting because they don’t have any freaking seats if I had to stand up all day and do that I’d be a lot more annoyed
I loved how the parents emotions are more mature while Riley’s are are more immature.
‘Cause Riley is younger of course
I think they wasn't really doing any unique design for other's emotions, because they appear briefly, so they're just looking like a person they belong to, but Riley's emotions are main characters and they was designed much more detaily.
I wonder what emotions would be the lead for us
it’s a movie
not real
Disgust and fear would be the best leader 😂
No I mean for us each like which one for each of us
@@MikaShiyaz i dunno for sure
But based from what I've seen in my place.. And if u put them in inside out universe
My coworker has anger as the leader (which is annoying and noisy as hell)
My boss has sadness which sometimes troubling me
And i got fear
LoL
@ssg3legssan No way really?
I’ve always knew. Each time you see their head, it’s different emotions controlling them.
My God, I love this movie so much. Hopefully the sequel's good.
I have a sense that Mom is led by Sadness and Dad is led by Anger because those are the emotions that are culturally acceptable by women and men respectively if not Joy. And adults, though they experience joy, aren't driven by Joy as an emotion, as children typically are. Women are "allowed" to be Sad but not Angry, so Sadness takes the lead. Men are "allowed" to be Angry, but not Sad, so same thing. I think these depictions are showing how society has shaped emotional development.
Inside Out 2 adding more emotions:" Hold that thought"
Then Inside Out 2 comes out, and you start wondering where the other emotions are in the parents' head
Probably roaming around in other parts of the head kinda like Joy and Sadness forced adventure from the 1st movie since I heard that there was supposed to be more emotions and stuff that were scrapped
Seems like they can come n go
Sadness is my favourite emotion because of her empathy.
What I also noticed is that mixed emotions are present in the movie
Not like disgust being to feel other emotions but that one emotion can look a certain way like sadness but have the color of another emotion
During the credits we are shown the inside of other people’s heads and there was one character who had all of his emotions be anger but each with a color of a different emotion
Besides the regular color for anger
There was a yellow anger, a blue anger, a green anger and a purple anger
This means that it’s possible for one emotion to have the roles of two emotions
One emotion is the physical appearance and the other being a color of an entirely different emotion
You can have a joy who is also angry by having a red joy or a yellow anger
One thing I don’t understand is that the core emotions are always present in every persons age but in Inside Out 2 we see new emotions coming in that aren’t seen in older people both young adults and older adults. I hope they can explain where these extra emotions go 😂
Honestly, I think IO2 will come full circle into IO1's development as the new, varied emotions eventually merge with the main 5, enhancing them and bringing them to the point seen in the parents. Sadness isn't leading the mother's mind, Empathy is.
Sadness is basically a feeling of feeling sad for others which is known is empathy.
The dad's lead emotion being anger also complements this, as its seen and said during the movie that one of the key roles of anger is motivation and protectiveness. Its also hinted that in the dad'a head, fear seems like a chairman or a second in command to anger, as fear's main role is to analyze a situation to protect themselves and others around them.
I’m aware that this is a video about the first Inside Out, but to be honest I think the leader of my head is either ennui or anxiety
I love Inside Out a lot.
Yeah, I've had a thought on the emotion that sits in the middle is usually what the person feels the most
One theory I would like to add is a person's lead emotion is probably the first emotion that person felt after being born, like how joy is Riley first lead emotion. This would mean when her parents were born the first thing they both felt were sadness and anger
Sadness definitely leads my mind
I wonder why her leading emotion is sadness and the dads leading emotion is anger
Having a speaking voice doesnt mean 1 emotion is in charge or leading. Humans are a bit more complicated than that lol
As we have seen all the emotions take turns being the lead...riley just was growing her emotions out of sorts as she grew but primarily joy as she is a naturally joyous person.
But joy never took over if anger or disgust had a role... and instead they stepped up and took over and even would say "no!" To the others to het their own ways.
The emotions just switch around depending on the environment and situation...just like gasp! Real emotions lol
Joy didn't like sadness taking over because it often resulted in joy not having a place. In other words...joy can also show envy or displacement.
Desperate to avoid this in the movie she forbids sadness from doing anything.
It's not until the end she realizes she doesn't have to let only 1 emotion take charge at a time and that instead they can work co-inside hehe together to create a proper and healthy environment .
Sadness is the lead for mom. Anger is the lead for dad. It make sense
Also I noticed that the parent's emotions are seated and Riley's isn't.
I take that as meaning they have more control over their emotions as adults should, and teenagers emotions wonder around and go all over the place as they can and do
Fear and Anxiety working in tandem in my mind:
Finally a theory that's not cringe
I finally understand Riley‘s mom emotions. The only reason is why sadness is the leader is because when she gave birth to Riley. She was crying.
I found it very telling that mom’s head of command is sadness and dad’s is anger… I just found that very telling. That’s how it is for my parents for sure 😂❤
I thought that since dad's lead emotion is anger that he has anger issues. No wonder the mom had sadness as a lead emotion
Bro did not just say “pretty cool, right?”
When I saw foreshadowing I thought it was gonna be about the puberty button XD
I have the “I got ya big guy” in inside out 2 stuck in my head
Mums lead emotion is sadness and Riley's dad's lead emotion is anger 🤨
I never liked the theory that the reason why sadness is the lead for the mom and Anger was the lead for the dad was because a potential abusive relationship between the 2, this theory feels way more high hearted and more realistic for Pixar
Did you ever notice how the emotions are more mature in the older characters....uh
..yeah? That's the point? It's not hidden, it's literally written into the plot.
Who’s here after watching inside out 2
I also find it interesting that the 2 main ones in the Dad's head are anger and fear and those are the 2 emotions in Riley's head that are male.
Dad’s Anger is lead prob cuz sometimes he’s short tempered.
It is mentioned that Anger wants everything to be fair, So for Dad to be protective and want things fair makes sense. Moms are expected to me more in tune with their child's feelings for her being more empathetic also makes sense.
Riley's mommy is empathetic
Riley's daddy is protective
why does he sound like a robot 💀😳😳
Rayl's main emotions are joy and sadness, and displeasure, then suffering, and finally fear, all together that give empathy . And yes and no, each emotion has an expression of empathy that together give empathy in its complete expression or something like that
the best emotions are those of the cat in the end
Anger + sadness = a unique emotion that I’m not sure has a name. It can manifest in a positive or negative light, like any emotion.
Is interesting because when Riley finally allows herself to feel sadness, her parents can see and more closely understand what's going on in her mind.
So that’s why joy is the boss for Riley? Because she is a kid and kids prioritize joy.
Im 27 and I guess anxiety leading my console in my head 😂
I thought the mom was depressed
I think that the leading emotions are the ones that appeared first
I suck for not being able to notice something so obvious
I think whichever emotion leads the person depends really on their personality. Some will have sadness as their forefront, some Anger, some Fear and others don’t really have a leader. Riley’s Mother likely has Sadness as the main leader because she’s an empathetic type of person that dealt with sadness her whole life. Riley’s father has Anger as the main head because he’s about control and likely this is a result from dealing with anger all his life and likely going to Boot Camp and joining a band to help control that. For some kids, we see none of their emotions are leading the charge like Riley’s first date, so he likely will have the other emotions leading once he hits puberty like Anxiety, Ennuee or Envy.
"Did you ever notice the point of the movie?? 🤯"
I heard a other thorie.. that they think the main character in control is what the person feels the most, like the mum is sadness, dad is anger, and Riley is happy.
But then we never see the dad angey or the mum upset.
we do see the dad angry when Riley was being rude at dinner.
@@youraverageteardropfan oh I see.
My bad, haven't seen it a while, I just know he isn't often angry
My question is why the parents dont have Ennui, Humility, Envy, and Anxiety
I am confused why there aren't other Anxieties (for example) in other people.
It's just a teaser trailer, hopefully they clear it up in the movie
So I'm guessing Inside Out 3 will be about the emotions developing and Joy accepting the fact that she'll no longer be the captain of the ship and maybe Sadness...
In the new movie shouldn't the parents already have their anxiety and stuff cuz they already had there puberty
Mostly teens feel those emotions
Mostly teens only have those emotions. None of my parents said they have anxiety. Maybe it’s because of their jobs.
My internet says no
i think it would be funny if the feelings names changed as riley’s vocabulary grew as she got older. melancholy, loathing, dismay, delight, and pissed
Her mom is run by sadness 😢
Sadness is probably running the headquarters for Riley’s mom, because people have types of sensitivity. Riley is probably really sensitive.
And dad's lead emotion is anger
i think anger leads my mind since im always angry (most of the time )
I do believe who's the lead emotion has to do with the four temperaments. Mom's melancholic, therefore Sadness leads, Father's choleric, so Anger's in charge and Riley is a sanguine, led by Joy.
Come... Fly with me, Kachina.
One thing I can't help wondering is how Riley's parents emotions reacted when they were making Riley💀

As a kid Joy is the leader but as you grow older you feel less joy 😭
My theory is the first emotion to pop up during birth is the main emotion or leader
I remember when people took it as Riley’s dad being abusive or something
I pointed out to a friend how each of the parents’s emotions are either male or female vs riley’s which are mixed.
I noticed this too and wondered if there’s a point where they all switched over
at the end of inside out one they also said what could happen and in the beginning, they moved so it was also another hint!
I feel like if there was an emotion for shyness and confidence
Those to would be fight instead my head
Anxiety was foreshadowed in the first film of inside out, because she was foreshadowed on bing bong’s flower and Riley’s shirt
Finally someone dont says Rileys father hits the mothee
My mom: Sadness My dad: Anger Me: Disgust My brother: Joy
I have a theory, what if the reason why Riley’s emotions are different genders is because some of them are like fear for males or joy for females (saying she has female-like joy, male-like anger, how a man is angry or how a woman is joyful etc.)
Nah moms depressed😂
did anyone notice how the mom has only female emotions and the dad has only male emotion but riley has both 🤨
MANDY’S CANDY WE ALL LOVE MANDY’S CANDY
But also the parents only have these emotions while riley is going to get new ones???
They might be hiding in other parts of the head like Joy and Sadness did when they were on a forced adventure
i thought bro was the charcters at first
and emotions of adults are all sitting down for some reason
Am i the only one waiting for cocaine to enter there?? 😅
There’s also a theory going around that Riley’s dad was a soldier and maybe fought in Afghanistan. The emotion that’s in charge in his head is anger and all of his emotions act similar to an army setting. Someone also mentioned that he served before Riley was born, so that’s where/when he met her mom. As we see in the film, the mom has a memory of meeting a Brazilian Helicopter Pilot.
Also I think because the dad's emotion's are male and the moms female it can maybe mean that Riley got here anger and fear from her dad and joy, disgust and sadness from her mom
Joy leads riley to stay happy no matter what
Sadness leads mom to be empathetic
Anger leads dad to be protective
I just watched this movie yesterday. It was a nice watch 😄
Cool to know these facts!
And that's why I hated Joy she thought sadness wasn't important
