I'm developing trust issues when it comes to translations.
And here's a clarification for the names I'm using, I’m going with the ones given in the French version since I trust it more than the English version (And they actually line up with the Japanese ones that I could confirm)
Adin(as it’s written in Japanese too) instead of Odin
Rushie instead of Lucille(If anything, the Katakana ルシエ "Rushi-e" are typically transliterated as Lucie)
Law Sanan instead of Lon Sernan
Bloom
Blogs instead of Broom Brooks
I did accidentally say Doctor Berg instead of Perge (which is also how its written in Japanese, ペルゲ "Peruge")
And one exception: Nichol. In French he’s called Nicolas (which I believe could just be the translator using the French version of Nichol) and in English he’s called Cage. I went with Nichol…because it’s obviously Nichol.
@Kakarot197 depending on when the manga was translated, this happens in early stages when the English manga was first appeared in the west. I had several manga such as Black Cat, Flame of Recca, that had dialogue context that are different or skimmed over, which sometimes makes the story and characters weird.
Kakarot197 also is it possible to do a video on The Hizack? Cuz i found its name maybe mistranslated:
Hizack? Or Hi-Zaku?
Thanks Kakarot197, keep up the great work. These Gundam Lore videos are awesome. On a side note, thanks for doing a G-Unit Lore. SD Gundam G Genenerations made me interested to the series. I am currently using Burnlapius and Griepe and Odin/Adin and Odel. The Custom Leos I use for grinding hahaha.
Maybe use the translations from SD games then? It can also showcase the units ingame.
Thank you for doing the G-unit story I find it's over looked and doesn't seem to get the attention it deserves just like the New Mobile Report Gundam Wing: Frozen Teardrop. Sadly I can't find a good translation of it but end game Wing technology is crazy interesting possibly rivaling UC technology.
At least Oz Prize did something almost no one has ever thought on Wing Series
Customizing their own Leo

I plan on doing customs of the HGAC Leos for all the prize suits.
One guy who also did that was Valder Farkill himself(hydra gundam pilot). He customize his leo to a black unit with custom armor and booster before he joined oz prize, and used that to gain his nickname, the destroyer general.
Oddly there are quite a few custom Leos but most never appeared in the T.V. Series only the expanded story. Kind of like the custom Zakus only really appearing in MSV until side story manga and anime started taking off.
Tokita kouichi did good in designing overflashy mobile suits. But his storytelling was a problem. Valder character description seems like portraying him as OZ strongest pilot even surpassing both Zechs and Treize but his background is obscure and very unclear rather than "black general of destruction and destroy many enemies army during revolt, also Zechs's subordinate" and thats it. There's no explanation on how he wanted to usurp treize and why he so obsessed with facing treize and epyon while in reality epyon belonged to zechs.
OZ Prize is basically almost like the Glemy Faction all over again.

Wait a minute, there is a Leo model that exists that can go toe-to-toe against a Gundam unit. We need more info on those units and how they do not explode when you look at them funny.
@Black Chandelier Mirage The Tallgeese was never a Leo model, it was the old frame that the Gundams are based on. The Leo is a massive downgrade from that.
The Leo S and R are basically Talgeese units in Leo bodies.
I'd be more surprised to find an Aries that accomplished literally anything besides blowing up or crashing
Basically, leo s has been so heavily tuned it could go toe to toe with the tallgeese. It went full circle. But because of Roche's personality, weaponwise it is kind of weak, armed with only a single beam saber and a somewhat vintage looking rifle
@@ShawneeLad117 Look up Gundam Wing AMVs. There are 2 of them that called 'Leos are the perfect soldiers' and 'Aries, Lord of the Skies'. They collect most, admittedly it might be all, footage from the TV Series of them being effective. Oddly the Manga stories apparently show the Leo, Aries, and Tragos trifecta being effective.
I remember G-Unit being my true introduction to Gundam from finding a Indonesian translation of G-Unit Volume 1 on an airplane, on the small pocket where you put the planes safety manual.

@@setya4540 indonesian, Gramedia sells a lot of translated manga, Some stuff they translate are so obscure doesn't even have results in Google
G unit could and probably more Gundam related side mangas could be buried under the dozens of mangas they translated.
Gramedia translated a few Gundam Manga back in the days such as:Gundam Seed, Gundam Wing, Endless Waltz, G-unit and Battlefield of the Pacifists. Dont know about the recent ones.

Funny that my very first exposure to G-Unit was through knockoff brand model kits sold at a Toys R Us of all places. They have the red square BANDAI logo but spelled BENDI. For a long time I thought the lousy kit quality was due to them being knockoffs, but a few years later I managed to buy the original BANDAI HG kits (LO Booster Geminass & Aesculapius) and as it turns out the knockoffs were pretty much 99% accurate :))
Had me in the first half not going to lie.
BENDI that you can buy in the wet market for PHP 110(roughly USD 2+ by today's currency)😂
If only OZ accepted MO-V's Gundam plan, we would be treated with the 5 boys fighting an army of lobsters and crabs.

In fairness, the pilot of the Mercurius Shuivan, called the pilot of the Gundam Geminass, Adin. That's in the SD Gundam G Generation F game for the PS1.
The PX System is closer to the Bio-Sensor or more accurately the Trans-Am system with elements of the EXAM. It basically increases the Mecha's performance while causing the pilot to get high on Adrenaline.
It should be noted that the Geminass was one of, if not, the first Multi-Mode Mobile Suit designs. Also it is funny how the Geminass is a recycled name that was originally going to be used for the Mercurius & Vayeate but was changed to make the units stand out more.
G-Unit was one of the early Gundam Tokyopop releases so that came with issues.

7:13 Funny parts is, if you go read the Chinese version of G-Unit manga, the problem were something else...
In the previous page, Lucille were complain to Odin about he have a record of 3 times more non-necessary movement when compare to Odel, then Odin says it must be Odel who messed up the control so he can't pilot it well. Lucille fires back and tells Odin that this unit has been modified and tuned to his piloting data...
Then Odin's line in the right most speech bubble of this page were "Then why isn't there a replacement shield?", then Lucille's speech bubble in the same picture says "Your personalized new shield is currently under construction!".
Then Lucille's speech bubble in the upper left picture says "Now shut up and carry on your training!", were Dick in the same picture says "Odin, I do suggest you just do as she said...".
And the right most speech bubble at the lower left picture (which belong to Dick) says "Because Lucille's face now looks even more scary then an Oni... *Donk! Ouch!!", Then Lucille's speech bubble says "Are you ready? (for the next training session)" when Odin answer with "Ok! Ok!"

Lol great timing, I've just finished this story line yesterday on SD Gundam Generation cross ray.
Oh , i read this manga, but me and my friends more focused with 4koma chibi bonus. It takes almost half the books! Really! And the jokes really funny, especially if you're Gundam fans.
It also crossed over with the Wing and G characters as well. Domon and his cup ramen I especially remember.

Minor thing: the PX System is unrelated to the Zero System. The Zero System is essentially a non-Newtype/Psycommu version of the Bio-Computer from F91 but on Steroids. The PX System is more similar to a non-Newtype/Psycoframe version of the NT-D system: it gives uses the heightened senses of the pilot to push the suit past its limits for a limited time, causing the unit to glow, and with stronger pilots being able to bypass the time limit at their own risk.
G-Unit is in SD Gundam Crossrays. I am happy they are considering it lore.

But Gundam Wing is practically a part for part retelling of the original Universal Century timeline story. 90% of the story matches with only slight variations to keep it fresh. You can bring up almost any part of Gundam Wing and I can tell you the universal Century counterparts to it. This will actually be a fun exercise so I will be looking forward to your replies

Just finished the G-Unit story in Cross Rays not too long ago. It did feel kind of fast but I thought that was just the game compressing the story for their stages.

I'll agree with you that Oz Priz doesn't make much sense in the normal way but given how Gundam Wing degenerates into factions post Gundam team's entry into space, with Oz, then Romafeler, then Trez Faction, White Fang, then in Endless Waltz the originators of Operation Meteor showing up with their mobile suits. So Oz Priz fits right with this.

I still have my three tokyo pop volumes of g unit and i really like it. I hope that retelling or continuing of g unit manga that came out japan i think back in oct or nov will get an english release so i can enjoy it as well and i hope the new p bandai g unit after 01 and 02 is the hydra gundam or one of the stardust knight unit leos

couldnt ever research it back then agew ago but was pleasantly surprised a few years back when i had the idea to look it up again and found some translated scans of it.
@@Nomadic_Gaming yeah GBA 1 and 2 was my first look at g unit as well and it was love at first site with the hydra gundam. Im glad the old hg kits are getting world wide reissue in April so im getting them all cause im not paying the over price for those old kits on ebay lol
I like to point out that in the translation in SD Gundam G Generation Overworld, Aiden's name was mistaken to be Odin.

Hello, I have been interested in reading these mangas because I like the Gundam Wing story. Does anyone know if there is a place to purchase English G-Unit mangas?
Found them on Amazon last year, but I can't say for certain if they're still for sale. The versions I got were used, and in good shape, as well as reasonably priced.
Hope someone does a reprint of these with better English localization like this video pointed out.

Tokyo Pop released in back in the 2000s. I believe it is out of print now what with Tokyo Pop no longer existing.

Meh, they survive and are seen at Odel and Tricia's wedding in the Manga. Though apparently an interview did confirm that they are annoyed that the Adin/Odin and Odel ended up with other girls.
This wasn't the first time TokyoPop was being too liberal with their translations or "editors notes" that got information completely wrong. Recall the first volume of the original Astray manga, and there's a "note: Coordinators have telepathic abilities" between Gai and Elijah.

Dr. Berg is the sixth Gundam engineer, the one who took the Wing Zero data and went into hiding with it. Between the time of his father's death and the time he reappears with the Wing Zero, Quatre made his way to MO-V, found Dr. Berg's abandoned Wing Zero design files, and built the Zero.
All the Gundam scientists had the Wing Zero data, they collectively decided it wasn't wise to build it and used the data to make the other Gundam suits. Continuity issue crops up with Howard also being referred to as the sixth Gundam scientist, though he left after the Tallgeese was completed but before the Zero was designed.
Well Berg is probably the 7th scientist and becomeing the 6th after howard left. He is the only one who sells out from all the scientist
