360 on drone is a very niche requirement. Has more limitation as well but can be a good substitute for an FPV?

Looks great. Creative. Different, and new ways to shake things up. Thanks Aldryn. Broke out the Mavic 2! About to sell mine to pay for Mini 3 Pro. M3P offers Mastershots, and connectivity options. DJI abandoned Mavic Air 2 for all intents. Cany even pair it to RC Pro.
the mavic 2 is still wayyy better than the mini 3 pro, that would be a massive downgrade
Love the 360 shooting ! 3D printed/3rd party extended legs should help with takeoffs and keeping the bottom camera off the landing surface. I use em quite a bit at the beach to have even more clearance when landing on sand.
Wondering if the extended legs will show in the video...
if you add extended gear it will end up in bottom camera view.

What about the flight time with the sphere on the air 2s?
Marvelous. Your explanations really helped me to "see" what was actually going on as you engaged a favorite beach and pier scene. I've been a semi-pro photographer and just never went further than school publications and could not break out to story telling video. This offers so much opportunity - it's like $30,000 an hour for this kind of production at the start of the drone phenom not long after the iPhone. The opportunities for sport product companies has reached far beyond the Hero days of body-cams only. We are now three times as far. AI editing takes flight time another distance, with this ease of integration of three cameras in two systems - not to mention the bulk computing power and storage and just the weight of the rig. Truth is on this vector - we probably won't need any such gear - nothing - ten years from now. We'll just imagine anything anywhere any time.

Nice review and camera system indeed ! I just don't have the drone to go with it, just having the Mavic Pro 2 Zoom at the moment. Although, I do have the Insta360 One X2 that I have mounted sometimes on the drone using a top mount (not bottom hanging), and it already gave me some pretty nice results.
Can you tell me more about how you mounted your Insta360 One X2 on your drone
is there a risk that the lower lens facing the ground might get scratched? or does the insta360 landing pad prevent exactly that?

The kit is all one piece. So you need to purchase the rig all together.

This looks like the rig I made after “frankensteining” my Mavic Pro rig to put it on Mavic Air 2, but I kept the original configuration. I did’t lose GPS with MA2.

I very much doubt it. This smacks of get the product at launch, do a quick review raving about it and what it can do, get views/clicks and $$$ through advertising and then move on to the next product.

Hi nice video, When you crop in are you still getting 1080P like on the insta 360. So you don't actually get 4K or even 5.7k
and that's the bad news I'd love to hear in this review if this is not sponsored content...
You don't get any GPS interference at all? I lose nearly half or more of the satellites when I turn the camera on. Makes it very erratic and difficult to pull off good shots under a tree canopy.

I went ahead and ordered it (Insta360 Sphere). Your video pretty much covered some of the cons I sort of expected with this type of camera. And I read some of the previous comments
about Insta360...and yes, it is a niche type of photography. But one that I do enjoy working with. I don't foresee me using this camera on even half of my drone
flights, but it will be good to know it is in the toolbox when I need it.

What mount can you suggest if I wanna put my lume cube on my air 2?
Have only found cheap Chinese ones and don’t really trust it much. Lumecube do one for Mavic Pro 2, but not air 2? Why I do not know as they’re almost the same shape.
Also, I like how you use the Air 2 when carrying a load…. Just in case.

Unless you hand launch and hand catch then you are going to end up scratching the lens of the 360
