I agree with you on the appeal of the younger Islay whiskies. I had an opportunity to taste an Laphroaig 25 and an Ardbeg 23, neither of which were worth the money, albiet beautiful and complex. "The color of honesty"; love it! It really puts me off when a distiller extols the fake color of their whisky. It should say something like "expertly colored golden hue". I pass on most whiskies that are colored with the exception of cheaper blends and mixers; background whiskies. You guys have the most entertaining and analytical reviews. Keep them coming please!
Drinking this and wstching review.Almost looks like water or white wine.Really good though,nice sweet peat,like Laphroaig Quarter Cask almost!!Very nicely balanced dram...88/100 is my mark!

The Cask Strength version of this is brilliant and great value at $100 at WG. I rate it my best value whisky for the price.
