Here’s my take on this subject, I’m a Harley Rider, but I have a soft spot for Sport bikes. My old man taught me how to ride on his R1 back in the day when I was 14, grant it, it was in a big stadium parking lot, and then we rode through side streets. Honestly you can be a beginner on any bike, whether it’s a scooter or a Hayabusa, the point is, you have to respect the machine and know your limitations. We don’t get paid like professional motorcyclists, so why ride like one? At the end of the day, you can get bit on a Harley just as much as you can on a sport bike, do what makes you happy, just be careful. I hope that helps. Nice GXSR-750 btw, that sounds sweet!

Beautiful bike. I wish I fit on one. I sat on one before buying my ZX4RR. I have short legs and short arms. I even lowered my ninja by about an inch to be more confident on. No regrets though. I always tell people to go smaller. It's just safer advice. Like if someone is ready for a bigger bike the worst that happens is they switch bikes to a bigger one. But if someone not ready for a big bike gets one the worst that can happen is they lose a lot of money or get hurt or worse. I just hate to be the person who tells someone something that gets them hurt

The gsxr750 isn’t a good beginner bike. If you want to be a good competent rider for life start on something small and get good on that. Learn the clutch, brakes, accelerator, cornering, riding in traffic etc on something low powered & comfortable ride the ass off it then and only then get a 600/750.

Horrible advice for a 600, 750 or 1000 as a first bike, the comments are appalling, why would you start on something like that? Riders like that are the ones that ride the big bikes slow, never reaching the full potential, I see it everyday, guys on R1s, S1000RR, Ducatis, they can't even do a proper u turn or stop correctly

@@chillwithkea Something with far less power and more relaxed geometry. An SV650 is a good starter bike that you can grow into a bit. Want more aggression? Convert to clip-ons or throw on other aftermarket bars.
Other similar bikes like the Ninja 650 and CB500 are also good for beginners and give a little more sportiness out of the box.
