Because Maleurous was in my opinion the best story in Dragonfable we still had left, and sticking to the correct continuity would mean that this story would be pushed into the really far future. Since I didn't know if the let's play would ever even make it that far, and didn't want to risk never getting to it, I decided to do Maleurous first. I figured it wasn't much of a problem, since the Maleurous saga is a relatively stand-alone story anyway. Also, I had grown accostumed to a certain quality in the videos, by which I mainly mean the fact that characters could have unique voices. There are relatively few characters in the Maleurous saga compared to other stories, and the number of friends I have to do the voices with me is limited, and I wanted to keep the quality of characters having unique voices (or at least females sounding like females) going. Also, I wanted to use the Maleurous saga as a stepping-stone to test whether my friends would like voice-acting, to see whether I could use them for the main story. In that case, I'd have to rely on them continuing to want to voice their characters for a really long time, and didn't want to trap them into doing something they'd only enjoy for a short time. I thought the Maleurous saga was a nice and short self-contained story to test the waters for that. Of course, this all backfired somewhat, because doing the Maleurous saga took waaaay longer than I originally anticipated, and in the finale and epilogue of the story (which hadn't come out yet when I made the first Maleurous videos), Calamity is a lot more relevant because of references to Serenity.
