Hi there Mitch. Fantastic video. Straight to the point, and very informative. I just have a query relating to the QSC PLD 4.5 power amp. Fantastic amp. Have just acquired this as my main amp. I have allocated my old main amp to the backup (Crown XLS 1502 Drivecore). Also a brilliant amp. At present the QSC is wired in my rack with just the A and B channels setup as full range feeding my top end (JBL 1500 EON). Seperate signal fed out to the subs (Powered JBL JRX 118s). All good thus far. The tops have an impedance of 8OHMS, and when I set the amp up to match this impedance, I, of course, get each channel using 1250W / side. Is this the best setup for the amp / speakers I have?. This produced huge amounts of level to the speakers with small movement of the mixer sliders. Not too sure if this is going to be beneficial to the speakers, and what would be the level to take them to the maximum when I need it. Would I be best to switch the Nominal imp. to 16Ohms per channel on the QSC, Effectively halving the output power to the speakers. The JBL eons are rated at 300watts average, think they will take twice that on peaks. So not too sure how to equate what I can use, and for how long!. Any help is appreciated Mitch. many thanks!.
