Love this painting! I'm very partial to oils so of course, I'd love to see you do more in oils. It's so simple yet beautiful. Thank you for this video.😊
I’ve only recently found your videos, but I am learning so much from them. I usually work in acrylics but am now tempted to try my hand with oils, Thankyou!
I agree with you. Subtlety is key. We've all seen lots of high chroma paintings on You Tube that look garish and cartoonish. Mixing subtle colors makes beautiful paintings. I really love your color mixtures and how you gray the colors. I always look forward to seeing your videos. Keep up the great work.
@@GebahiArtworks I just read your artist statement and see that we have a teacher in common, Roger Bansemer. I personally took lessons with Roger for a couple of years. Then painted with him weekly in his studio live portrait group in his Clearwater studio in the 90's. I consider him to be my greatest teachers as he never held information back and gave 110%. Your work is what I consider masterful and I can see Rogers influence in your work also in your teaching style and giving 110% to the students that you are influencing.
I’m so glad I found your videos , I’ve been in a slump and your videos have inspired me to try again, thank you so much for sharing your videos with us.
. A lot of your paintings are so familiar to me as I lived in S. Florida for many years. I now live in Tallahassee, Fl. , and paint there. Very different from S. Florida. I do like the way you do the grasses, the use of alizarin crimson, and ultra blue.. Beautiful. !! Thanks for sharing your talent..
Love your content Karim. Your brushstrokes are so loosey goosey . So difficult for me to not overwork my paintings. Would love to see something similar in acrylics with a palette view
Thank you Jay, I’ll put that request on my list!! With my more recent videos I put a palette so that you can see the mixing. There are some time lapse videos though that don’t.
Glad you did this in oils as that's my medium Really appreciate your paintings this is the second one I've watched and they're excellent I will subscribe and hope you do more in oils 😊
Hi. The horizon sea sky, blur it a little and you will not see such a straight line. It will give more depth and lontanansa to the bottom. Beautiful picture and work. Congratulations.
I really love your work. So beautiful. I hope and pray that I can paint like this one day. Do you give any pay for oil lessons online or sell any dvd or download lessons? Thank you, Tina
Thank you so much !!! You just have to keep at it. I don’t currently have any pay for lessons but I’ve been looking into doing a Zoom private class where you can paint along and ask verbal questions as opposed to having to type! I’m still working it out.
Great video and beautiful painting, thank you so much for sharing your techniques. Could you let us know what colours you used for your tonal ground? Thank you 😊
Thank you for being so instructive about the process as you paint, I am learning tonnes from you. One difficulty I have is adding fine details such as the sea oats and grasses on the RHS of yours. The underpainting is tackie from two days ago, I'm using linseed medium, ( not liquin or galcan ) and the paint just won't come off the brush and stick to it. When I make it thiner, it flows on but then disperses into the paint beneath. Any ideas? - thanks again.
Sorry for the late response Kevin!! The first layer needs to be thin, the linseed oil in the first stage is not helping, you’ll just get it muddy. That’s why I use Liquin or Galkyd fro Gamblin! They help speed the drying time of the first layer so that you can put a thicker layer above that! Always start thin and go thicker subsequently. Use linseed oil for the subsequent layers, unless you’re doing alla prima, which is all in one sitting, even then you have to map out your painting before starting and and have to be careful! The key is start thin!
Thank you!! You can use acrylics to tint your canvas before starting. I used burnt sienna! I used acrylics because it’ll dry fast so you don’t have to wait unlike using oils to tint which takes anywhere between 15-30mins to set up.
As a beginner I love painting seascapes but... it never looks realistic. Now you show me how to mix colours and a lot of technics that will help me. Thanks for the tutor, it's a beautiful painting an I will try it myself. Grtz from Belgium
Dilute the paint to a thin consistency to be able to make finer strokes, you will need to dip into you paint after every 2 maybe 3 strokes! Sadly I wish we could make more than 3 strokes but that’s just the way it is, Lol ! I know it’s a pain, I have to deal with the same inconveniences!
Will try, it’s because acrylics dry fast and I can do the painting in one stage. Oils would be I 2 stages for me, but no worries, I’ll try to get more oil paintings for you !
Very good and informative. A very good demo . Like to see more oil painting demos!
Thank you Jennifer, I count on doing more!

Thank you very much, I will attempt to do so!!
Once more, thanks for your generosity. This is a gorgeous piece, you obviously like the flora on beaches/dunes.
Thank you, it’s what makes the painting for me, love the different patterns on the dunes!
I’ve only recently found your videos, but I am learning so much from them. I usually work in acrylics but am now tempted to try my hand with oils, Thankyou!
It’s my pleasure Suszie!! I’m venturing out myself experimenting with gouache!

@@GebahiArtworks That would be fantastic!
Great video and beautiful painting, thank you so much for sharing your techniques. Could you let us know what colours you used for your tonal ground? Thank you 😊
Thank you very much Lynn!! I used burnt sienna for the ground to give it warmth.
@@GebahiArtworks Thank you!
Super!!!!!
Merci encore !!
YOU PAINT BEAUTIFUL GREETINGS FROM ZAPOPAN, JALISCO, MÈXICO A KISS
Thank you Lupita!!!
What brush do use for the finer strokes and sea oats! Type, brand size, please. Hope you do more oils. Thanks, Deb
I used a Princeton “select” liner brush! It’s a #1 synthetic bristle.

Beautiful painting, as usual. How did you tint the canvas before you started the painting?

Great video. Looking forward to painting it but will be using WMO instead. Do you think it matters if I use acrylics for first coat?
Barney Rubble it won’t matter, it will actually help !!

Eddie Vanlaethem anytime!!! I’ll eventually have more videos.
@@GebahiArtworks Thanks for quick reply. Should dry a lot quicker without the tackiness.
I’m having trouble getting the liner brush to make the quick grass strokes without running out of paint. Any advice?
