I love your paintings, I could sit and wach for hours. At 61 I'm stilll learning perspective, But, I'm trying drawing everyday, when I get a chance. I learna lot from watching you. Thanks Dusan.
I think it's a long trip to paint as well as you! Every piece of your canvas is a treasure! It's great for you to show those demonstrations and I hope that you could give some explanations on the tips. Thank you for all !
Wonderful work sir...I’m a trying to watch all of ur work...and I must say the music is also wonderful! I am a professional guitar player artist with several albums to my name...mostly from the late seventies early eighties...I created 5 CDs 💿 a few years back to keep my music alive and well...I got cancer and then heart problems so I’ve slowed down and taking care of my health but now I’ve found u and u have given me a new sense of purpose and creativity...so I am breaking out all the paints and palette and easel! I will let u know how I’ve done...bless u sir and ur family...I love ur talent! I too live near the ocean about 2 miles and I love going at sunrise! Comes up on my side of the world from the east...take care sir...I plan on buying one of ur paintings...
Thanks Dusan for your reply. I think that you are great at what you do. You place so much feelings into your paintings and I am absolutely amazed. I keep on working, practicing, although like I wrote to you before, I am 71 this month. And might not live more than a year, but still won't give up on becoming a better painter. I find it so gratifying. Our work is what we will leave to the world. It might become extint if we don't take care of it. Our work is a gift to the world to see of especial moments in time present. Again thanks for your kindness in replying. You are a great human being. May the Almighty God blessed is He, give you more wisdom in your work. That will be your contribution for the lost moments to someone who doesn't appreciate what the Almighty God blessed is He, has given us. Blessings my dear.
Thanks Deanna, I'm happy you enjoy watching my paintings. Nothing to lose by giving painting a go, sometimes it's not about the outcome but how you feel while you are making it.
If you were there all day, the sun would have moved and the shadows may have changed. This happened even with Constable's paintings - his tree shadows were in different directions in some of his works, so you're in good company! Brilliant work though, I really enjoy your videos.
Bravo Dusan, Superb Oil Painting -" At the Jetty Coogee Beach" Perth. I feel like I'm there, just viewing your Fantastic Painting. Your colors and detail are Amazing ! Enjoyed your Live Painting creation. Truly you're a Gifted Artist Dusan. Big Thumbs Up # 1.7K Plus ! Have a Great Christmas 2021 ! Stay Safe ! Enjoy your Week, Kind Regards, Glenn M. Hola Dusan, no es nada fácil esbozar una marina que tenga cierta gracia y cercanía, sin embargo tú, lo has conseguido con esta obra cotidiana. Gracias por compartirla.
I read your bio and i must say, i disagree with the part of Having aLong way to Go! Your work is absolutely amazing! I’m captivated by each one! Thank you for sharing your beautiful work! Each is stunning!
Dusan love it. I spy a ship on the horizon, now a seagull on the lights or railings would make it realistic were they are fishing. Just my take ans suggestion. Love your work.
Hi Dusan congrats on the 10k followers my friend well deserved for an amazing artist😁👌👌this is a brilliant scene my friend enjoyed the video and left u a like 😁😁👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Beautiful work Really enjoyed ur tricks that how u play with colours while watching Ur videos. It's inspirational for me bcoz m an beginner ,Ur videos help me to stay calm nd be with patience with my art . Love from India ❤️🇮🇳
How you do to make those lines so perfect? And the people, you make it look so easy.....i am in love in the way you paint! 🎨 your work is really amazing!! :)
Dusan, you've put me in the 'Impressionistic art cupboard.' How will everyone in art group feel when I 'come out.' Do I have one of those 'talks' with lots of throat clearing and do fidgety displacement activities at the same time. All these years of saying I loathe - LOATHE - impressionism (I hate Monet & Manet & Van Gogh et. al.) Maybe get everyone to watch you creating this painting. You are such a prime argument for pro-nature v nurture or inborn talent v training. And your style and execution of work shows so much natural, inborn talent. .................Anyone can learn to paint but for just a very, very few, their natural talent and inner eye will take them beyond this. It will cross all social barriers and make people stand and stare at it for longer than any similar paintings in an exhibtion. .........................................................................................................................I just love this work. Impecable execution and attention to detail which will attract attention. Then invite interaction. Makes your mind reach into the picture; stimulating imagination and thought processes. Put someone of 6, 16, 60 or 90 in front of this picture and everyone will have something to talk about. A story or memory to share. ................................................................... But, as one of today's best selling artists told me - his best sellers all contain nude women and/or men! Perhaps add a couple of nude bathers on the beach or in the grass :))
Thanks for that Chris. Your intro made me laugh. I think you're right, it may require some nude bathers to finally sell it, although with the rain and cafe scenes it might be a bit more tricky.
Love it! You are an amazing artist my dear. It's just the way you develop the paintings with that pallette knife. I wonder, do you make a study for the paintings you have in mind before starting? Or do you just create the paintings as you go along the procedure? I am simply amazed by your technique. Thanks for sharing with us viewers. You are very kind.
Thanks Rut, Depends some pictures like this one is from several trips to this jetty over time with the majority of people in it are people I know. Its rare to have an idea ready made for you, to just simply paint. Either I'm there and no one else is, The angle is right but weather is not, or the people in a scene are great but the scene is not, so I change it. A lot of things we now days do using programs like photoshop, I do manually with my painting, my underwater sunken ships paintings are probably the best example of showing how I approach my work in general.
Thanks Zhang. To be honest they all work just fine, sometimes I need something smaller and sometimes I just switch because it doesn't feel like it's doing what I want it too.
Hi Dusan, how long does it take for your oil paintings to fully dry? I'm running out of space to place my paintings whilst they dry so wonder if you have any tips?
Hi John, Depends on whether you have added any medium to it or linseed oil which will add more time. Generally with my work with no added mediums they take about 14 days to be touch dry while the rest of it cures underneath. I used to just hang them up and display them on the wall while they dried. The darker colours will skin over first within a few days and reds and especially white will take longer. Failing that if you're handy with wood / mdf you could make a simple multi shelf drying rack, doesn't have to be pretty, just separate the work and keep it safe from one another and the dust.
Just my preference Denz - from my description - Please note that the base coat is acrylic paint, which is dry. It's primary use is to seal the ready made stretched canvases that you can commonly buy. They aren't sealed enough and are quite 'thirsty' and absorb the oil from the paint to eagerly, which is not good. The base coat can be any colour, which does influence the colours you place on top.
Painting live or plein air would be best, so many things to pick and choose to include in your work. Nothing comes close. Video is a distant second and then there is the usual photos and drawings.
Great art! I really like how you incorporate people into your paintings, look so natural and make the picture alive. What kind of instrument do you use for the small detail work?
No, se usi diluenti o medium, la vernice che cola è difficile da usare. Uso la vernice appena esce dal tubo, quindi mescolo i colori di cui ho bisogno.
you have a wonderful majestic simple style of painting, I'm still trying to find a style , I'm basically a copy machine, I can copy anything . petalythepainter
I like how you use your canvas as your palette too, and then Poof! the palette paint is swallowed by your painting. Excellent painting.
A-mazing. Enthralling to watch this scene unfold. Someday I will have a Dusan. Blessings from Kansas~

Nice work,,,,,dear is this paper or canvas?
Thanks Syed, it's canvas
Very nice! I notice you used different palette knife to paint, can you make a simple video to introduce what the difference between them? Thanks!
Thanks Zhang. To be honest they all work just fine, sometimes I need something smaller and sometimes I just switch because it doesn't feel like it's doing what I want it too.
@@PaintingsbyDusan Thanks for your kindly reply, love your paintings.
Is there an advantage to using a dark canvas vs a white one?
Helps work out the tonal value of a colour compared to the darkest colour already on the canvas, other than that it get's covered up pretty quickly.

why do you always paint on a black coated canvas? :) whats the reason behind? is it effective rather than painting on a white canvas?
