Why not use a piece of polyester insulation like a squeegee, I suppose will not dissolve. Or glass rod.
Some of the paper molecules used here could be transferred to the wood.
    Just a suggestion.
    Thanks for the video!

Thanks for your comment! Any sort of plastic used to handle CA glue, seems to make the glue harden instantly. Even with paper, the glue hardens almost immediately and one has to keep renewing the applicator. Brushing just doesn't work and neither does foam. I never had a problem with paper being transferred. A small wad of paper towel works the best by far. It's hard to imagine a glass rod working on an area of wood.
You just have a few seconds to apply the glue so you use the principle of wet edge, working in small sections. After you have made as even a distribution as possible, you can use an abrasive foam pad to smooth. After that, usually I apply a little bit of shellac with a fad and that makes the best, easily removed bond with the adhesive on masking tape, and that is the purpose of dressing the wood in this way. I got this idea from an article I read about finishing tool handles with CA glue, and paper towel is always the recommended applicator.
