    I have now re-reviewed your review! Thought timestamps might help anyone else wanting you thoughts on specific products and conclusion:
    1:20 Brief History of Bilt Hamber
    3:35 Auto-foam snow foam:
    12:00 Surfex HD - great all round cleaner, many dilution rate options
    17:52 Auto-Wash - no additives added. Super concentrated (5ml per bucket/15ml per 5 gallon). Anti corrosive properties to prevent rust
    22:47 Korrosol clearcoat cleaner / Auto-wheel cleaner - bleeding fallout products
    - 27:45 Differences between them explained
    30:49 Clay Bars (conclusion: best in class, especially value)
    37:30 Finis-Wax: Easy to apply/wipe off, great value for money
    . Last well. Great wax
    40:57 Double Speed wax: if you can only have one wax, get this. Last longest, highest gloss, slightly more "grippy" to remove but better water repellent.
    47:11 AutoQD detailing dressing (ionic cushioning product/claybar lube). Can be diluted 75%product:25%water for gloss boost)
    51:32 Cleanser Fluid: Removes hydrocarbons, wax and traffic film. Use to prime the paint, then apply the wax/sealant
    55:25 Conclusions
    - 55:35 Products that are missing from the range (still missing in 2019).
    -- No compound/finishing polish, ceramic coating, glass or tyre care
    - 55:60 Final conclusions
    Summary - all great products. Those that are instabuys/best in class products:
    - Auto-wash shampoo for best clean residue free finish, super concentrate, big bubbles, value for money is insane
    - Auto-foam - best at actually CLEANING/breaking down the traffic film
    rather than looking nice and smelling of pineapple.
    - Korrosol clearcoat cleaner / Auto-wheel cleaner
    - SurfexHD many usees for different dilution rates. Note: Price has gone now in 2019 (5L/£23)
    - Clay Bars Range - best in class by a long way. 'Regular' clay for most abrasive. Great prices
    .
    1:01:45 Thanks to Bilt Hamber and confirmation no script was provided
    Must have taken ages to make this video so there's my way of saying thanks for all the info!

    I'm so glad I found your channel. I'm a not a professional detailer or anything, just a hobbyist, I've got into detailing myself last year when I was able to afford a complete respray on my car which I was sparing money for years and the fact that I love to take care of my car with proper products and my god I've come to the best place I could. Your reviews are absolutely great, the experiences with certain products you share are spot on and are indeed a big help! And you speak totally clear (which is a big bonus for me watching/subscribed from Hungary) I haven't even heard about Bilt Hamber products since, but I'll definitely place an order on their site. They products are really a big bang for money. Keep the videos coming! Cheers.

I have used your reviews and tutorials as pretty much my go to for my initial sourcing of products from a DAS6 Pro to MF cloths and drying towels etc. This video has pretty much got me kitted out with all the cleaners etc that I will ever need (and more if I properly get into this detailing lark). I'd encourage you to buy - you won't be disappointed. I've been an 'auto-glym' chap for years, dabbled with McGuiars (?) but not impressed, but gave Bilt and Hamber a go because they seemed to be a cheaper alternative. They are not as cheap as some waxes et al - but you need so little. In fact, the less you use, the better. It has to be a 'mean' application for best results. I'll stick with B&H from now on.

    Great review vid, thank you. I've become a big fan of Bilt Hamber in recent months. It's just a very good all round range of products. No fancy packaging or flashy labels, no harsh chemicals, just stuff that works, is easy to use, and is well priced. British, too. My neighbour introduced me to the Auto Wheels initially, which works a treat. Slowly adding other products as my existing stuff runs out. For shampoo, I've always been a massive fan of the Autoglym Shampoo Conditioner, and have come back to it every time after trying most of the others. Will definitely try the Bilt Hamber when that's gone though.

      yer real no nonsense stuff. not really a scene brand. mainly surfactants and cleaning chems with an interest in anti corrsions. line is lacking like glass cleaners, plastic dressings products etc. And their paintwork protection stuff is wax based. nowadays I break brands down. cleaning chems (wash products) / decon / abrasives / protection / accessories. BH are the kings of the cleaning chem and decon catagories. everything they make they just formulate it to out perform other products and I really trust their ability to deliver on this and I think other people notice it as well.

What's more, the products themselves really are "as advertised", got the snow foam and the auto wheel, they work like a charm, I don't feel ripped off and the job gets done. A little difficult to find their shampoo here in my country, but hey..

    BH as impressive as ever with the products featured here and this brand review is still excellent! I can't think of another brand that rates best-in-class in as many areas. I like to think that they haven't expanded into compounds and coatings because they're keeping a focus on outperforming the competition instead of just matching them.

    I have been using the Regular and Medium Clay bars for years and will never swap to anything else. The main thing that got me sold was you dont need any lubrication or quick detailer to use it. Water was perfect and can save money as your saving buying a new quick detailer any time you detail someones car.
    The Shampoo is 100% the best i have ever used hands down, and i have sampled a huge amount.
    Also the ergonomics of the auto wheels and korrosol bottles are really nice, companies likes Gyeon have forfeited function over form in order to make a fancy looking bottle which doesnt feel right in my big hands!
    And finally price wise you cannot beat Bilt Hamber they are my go to company 9 times out of 10!

    Very nice summary! You are progressing rapidly with your reviews. BH is my go-to manufacturer together with CarPro.
    You used quite much product occasionally. I can make about 10-15 cars with one bottle of Cleanser Fluid. It is effective glass cleaner (expensive though) and works very well dissolving tar. Finis-wax is about 33£ and DSW 14,95£. Finis is easier to use but DSW sheets better. I tested them Bouth side to side and finis had better longevity. Would say DSW longevity is about 5000-10000 km or 3-7 months and Finis 8000-15000km or 4-9 months if You are maintaining them correctly. Top work!
    Can You make next: CarPro, Bouncer's and Obsession wax reviews?
    By the way I agree that they should make: Coating, spray sealant.

    26:00 Know it's an old video but just got through another bottle of wheel cleaner having done only 16 wheels for £14. Even spraying from the centre of the wheel to outside to minimise it going thru onto the discs. Never thought of cleaning them first, sounds counter intuitive but this makes total sense. Nuggets of info like this are gold. Everything I'm looking into now (Gen Purpose cleaner/wheel cleaners atm) seems to take me from one of your videos to the next one being just as relevant so I've been on a non intended binge. I;m relatively new to the hobby, but learning a tonne here, love this channel. This was like an hour overview of detailing for beginners not just showing the products. yer if you use these reaction fallout removers on dirty wheels, the reaction is wasted turning rusted ferous particles thats just mixed in with the dirt.. all its doing is melting the rust layer on unbounded materials. when really they are best used to dislodge embedded iron. They will also tarnish your disks and pads so you need to be carefull where you spray them. They are best used periodically to decon your alloy really.. or when they are really filfty.. good pre rinse and blast down is always worth doinf welcome to the channel m8

    I'm glad you mentiond that the med/hard BH clays are quite stiff in use. I thought my hands were going to break trying to mould the stuff on a cold day. I'll definitely try the soft one next time. The other advantage of BH clay is that you can use water (according to the pack) so you save money not buying clay lube.

    Thanks so much for your thorough, yet entertaining content. I have learned so much from you and 'Car Cleaning Guru'.
    I have tried a couple of Bilt Hamber products. The car wash is brilliant. 5mls to a bucket of water is ridiculous. The 300ml bottle is good for 60 washes! I traditionally use Meguiar's Gold Class shampoo and I like the shine it gives, but you have to use quite a lot so I run out quickly. BH Auto Wash is much, much better value for money and the clean is as good if not better. The low suds is initially disconcerting for those that like thick, luxurious suds but it still works and my microfibre drying towel literally squeaked across the glass and painted surfaces. I also like the fact that it's environmentally friendly so it's a guilt-free experience too. I agree that it's a bit of a faff to measure but rather than a syringe, just use a measuring cup that you get with cough syrup. BH need to redesign the bottle - the liquid is too runny for such a wide mouthed bottle.
    I was frustrated with the BH 'normal' grade clay bar that was just too hard to mold into a shape. My hands were aching just trying to flatten it and fold it every few minutes. This added to a lot of lost time as most of the surface area was not making contact with the panel. Not a pleasant experience - even warming it up in hot water made no difference. The only positive note is you only need to use water, rather than expensive clay lube and I like the fancy box. I understand there's a softer version but I'll stick with Meg's detailing kit now that it comes with a bigger chunk of clay and decent amount of lube.

    john i use both the korrosol and the clay and as you say best i've ever used the only reason i am not using the speed wax and the rest of the range is that i have shed loads of stuff to use first, plus i have emailed bilt hamber regarding a question on a product and every time they answer very quicky and in a way that is easy to understand...they are really good..i would love them to do a coating for glass making them hydrophobic and a cleaner...cheers for another cracking review mate.

    Just want to add that you can use the Autofoam in a hand pump sprayer and it'll work just as well, if not better imho, as well as being more economical. I use 80ml per 2L and it'll be enough for up to 2 cars.

    John, great video as always!
    2 things:
    1 - I am using auto-wash as my shampoo (first shampoo I've ever bought for my P&J), and I really like it, but to be honest, it never really foam on me like on Your video. Suds, even if there is fair amount of them, don't last long in the bucket.
    2 - I also use double-speed wax (again first wax i bought), and I really like its durability and beading. But I really hate how it hardens on panel in matter of seconds... the name sort of makes sense to me, because you need to double your speed to buff it of :D but looking at your video, I think I still need to work on my technique.
    Keep doing a good work, these brand reviews are brilliant.

    There is a housing development behind my house going up. 60-70 homes. Ive been struggling with cleaning my car due to the constant dust. Washed my car today and noted all the top surfaces (bonnet/roof etc) have got what appears these pitted spots which are all perfectly spread. They’re tiny and pick up awfully in the light! Cannot get them off for toffee! The paintwork feels smooth to touch but this video has definitely swayed me to try the reg clay bar! I’m hoping it does the job.
    I have a feeling the spots are possibly lime from the cement which has been rained on my car and dried in the sun :(
    Brilliant informative video

    FYI the QD was tested as a rinseless wash years ago but ended being a QD. Its listed in Bilt hamber sub treads on Detail World forum.
    I wish you would also put a opinion on Cleanser-polish which is another great Bilt hamber product and of course Auto-balm which is a very unique product.
    Other than that...great job again. I really like these product line reviews. I cant wait too see which is next...

      i did cleaner polish... the only issue is they dont have an abrasive pre wax cleanser.. And the cleaner polish only comes in 500 ml.. would be nice to be able to get 5 litres of it.

    • @AJ-nl8bg
      @AJ-nl8bg 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bilt hamber has 2 polishes or AIO products. One is Cleanser polish (yes I know...its has a similar name to cleanser FLUID) and Micro fine. Both have micro abrasives.
      Cleanser polish does cut-fill-protect.
      Micro fine does cut-protect.
      Another AIO (sort of) is Auto balm which fills sort of protects (it hardens on the surface).
      Anyways...love the videos.

    • @ForensicDetailing
      @ForensicDetailing  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      cleanser fluid is non abrasive though right? and the other one is a filler glaze polish rather than a cleanser right?

    • @AJ-nl8bg
      @AJ-nl8bg 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah yeah...cleanser fluid (the one you used) is a non-abrasive spray on type product that dissolves waxes and oils. In my eyes its sort of a supercharged IPA type product.
      And then BH has their polishes or AIOs I to be more exact:
      One is Cleanser polish which is another product BH have that is an abrasive filler heavy gloss enhancing polish that also leaves behind some sort of resin protection that is compatible with either sealant (double speed) or wax (Finis) or even other brand sealants or waxes (a good combo for example is BH Cleanser polish + Fk1000p).
      And the other is Bilt hamber Micro fine polish that has fine abrasives in it to remove old waxes (like other abrasive pre-wax cleansers) and a carnauba based protection which should serve as a base layer for Finis or other brand carnauba waxes.
      I have also read somewhere that combining Cleanser polish followed by Auto balm and then Finis should restore gloss, hide most swirls and protect the car making it anti-corrosive for quite some time.

    If you like the trigger sprays on the Bilt Hamber bottles, the green Mr Muscle Window and Glass cleaner (in the UK at least) uses the exact same mechanism. Some other household cleaning products also use the same mechanism, so potentially a source of spray bottles a bit cheaper than the empties from Bilt Hamber. You might want to give the household cleaner bottle a quick rinse out with some BH APC first :)

    according to follout removers: remember that the time in which the product starts to "bleed" don't mean that is is better than the others. actually from chemical point of view it can suggest that it will dry up faster than other products and that you can't work with it as long. the best way to compare these products is to wash the wheel properly: acid, alcaline, and than follout remover (half rim with one and half with other) and swap them after. Than you can see very clearlly which one wipes out more of iron particles.

    • @ForensicDetailing
      @ForensicDetailing  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      what ive done in the past is use test panels with fallout on them.. tape off sections and spray one squirt over the panel with fallout specs and film it. After 5 minutes I look at the fallout specs and see if they have bleed out completly, compare etc, review the footage on a big screen. Ive done half and half tests on cleaned alloys as well.
      what Ive found is the ones that take like 30 seconds to a minute to get going (so to speak) are not as potent as the ones which react quickly. So I still think the speed of the reaction has some sort of indication of the TGA content level. I have not noticed BH autowheel be prone to drying quicker (in fact the opposite) its a bit more gel and thicker than a lot. It also has this very slight foaming property which I find helps you work the product with a brush a little bit.
      I think you raise some great points though.. I would struggle I think if I tried to do a "best of" style video on these ones...

    How can anyone argue with their clay at that cost? AG is over £30 and Megs about £24 for the kit. You also forgot to mention that where most clays also recommend detailing fluids as lubrication(or maybe I missed it), BH just uses water!!! Just got their soft clay this week(for soft Honda Paint) along with Korrasol. Have you used their HYDRA-WAX yet? As an old school "Hard" wax user over the years im keen to see how this stands up, longevity wise, against the likes of AG HD wax. I like the way they include applicators and Micro fibres as standard with their products. Its a shame they arent more accessible, availability wise, in the likes of Halfords though. Seriously I think they wipe the floor against the like for like products from AG and Meguiars etc. Like most people if i need something, I want it now, and not have to wait for it to be delivered.

    • @ForensicDetailing
      @ForensicDetailing  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      BH is pretty widely available but making into into halfords is not easy. I love BH products, but megs and AG have some pretty cool stuff as well. clay its hard to look beyond BH at the price point, megs 50g clay bars for 9-10 pounds i think is massivly overpriced. I think they even realised that and moved them upto to 100g for ten pounds (took them a while to do it though)

    Hello, just found your channel and been glued for hours. I currently use BH clay and shampoo and after watching this will be switching to their snow foam, auto wheel and either finis or double speed products. One question for you, or any other subscribers, I live in a rural village Cyprus which brings it’s own challenges - heat, lots of dew in the mornings at our altitude, dust - from dust storms, dusty roads and passing farm vehicles. I’m hoping to get a brand new car later this year and debating whether to go down the ceramic route and regularly top up with Reload (I acquired some recently), or stick with a more regular product such as double speed or Finis. Like the idea of ceramic but I know it’s important to prepare properly and once you go down that route I’m in the hands of the pros who are few and far between over here. Any thoughts welcome. Keep up the good work.

    Hi John, I'm not sure if you will see this message as the video is an old one. Having watched a number of your videos I am would like to understand a little about the subject. I am not intending to get involved in machine polishing and the question I have is does that mean I shouldn't use a clay bar on my car because of the marring that will cause and therefore I won't be able to remove that from using any hand applied products? Really enjoy the information included in your videos. cheers!

      hmm I personally wouldnt clay unless I could machine polish. But there are people out there that tell me they dont install a single scratch when they clay (deluded). If you do a very light clay on good paint you might get away with an intensive hand polish to remove the marring but hmm no. I would get machine polisher mate you need one and they are cheap.

    Don't ever use Double Speed Wax in very warm weather. Even applying in the evening when it's cool... I found if it was very warm and sunny the next day or two it would cause significant "sweating" of the wax. Bilt Hamber warn of this on their website. They call it "blooming" I think. Also seemed to kill the water beading on the horizontal surfaces, while the vertical surfaces weren't negatively affected.
