The Sydney grace coffee talk palette is the only palette I bought in 2022 and I love it! My perfect neutral palette
It's the only one I want. I stopped buying eye palettes, especially big ones, they always just sit.
@@aprilsilvers381 it’s worth it, I got mine in their Christmas in July sale! Pigmented but easy to use. The colors do kick up powder when you dip into them though that’s the only thing that bugs me about it
I have the top 2 Natasha Denona pallettes too. Love them. Can you do a 7 look with either or both one day? Would love to see.
The number one “ palette “ that was new to me this year, even though I it didn’t actually release this past year, that ive been the most excited about this year has been the sydney grace x Temptalia palette trio collection
Love that you also adore the ABH Noveau! It's such a well-chosen color story - lovely main color, great light 2 dark-span and consistent but versatile💋. Winner 🥇🎉😀! I've not been up to date in a long time, that ABH Noveau is one of the last ones I bought. Really feel like getting that Natasha Denona that you placed 2nd. Can't have enough of those types of greens!!

That Pat McGrath mini was the high end palette that got me back into makeup. That dark purple!!!!! 💜💜💜💜💜

This year I was just getting back into make-up and skin care and I didn't want to spend to much on something I was unsure of. I bought 3 Essence palettes - Taupe, Pink, and Nude. I've found that I used the Pink a lot during the summer and I've been more into the Nude since the fall. Of course I have been doing a bit of mix and matching between them. I haven't done a lot with the Taupe so I plan on playing around with that soon.

I think I have to go with the ABH Nouveau palette as my #1 as well. The color story is really well done. I bought my first Natasha Denona palette...the Retro. And, I love it. The Retro Glam looks great, but I went with the Sydney Grace Mel's bundle instead. Oh, and I bought the Nabla cutie in nude based on your recommendation.. you're right.. it's a winner!
My most used/favorite is Desert Lights by Flower Beauty. Also Mauves from Profusion. Very pretty rosey tones in that one which complements my greens eyes.
Yes! Desert Lights is my #1 holy grail palette too! The most beautiful one and done shadows ever.
I wish I could find Desert Lights in store somewhere.
I got the Nubian Earth palette and really loved it! Their Garden palette was also one of my favorites of 2022. I don't have a pastel palette in my collection and the shimmers are gorgeous! My other top palettes were ABHs two new ones and ND Retro Glam and Retro. Huda Empower as well as Adept Plain Jane Remastered and Glamlite Mikayla Paht 2.

@mandylea you know the palette Tiny Marvels was created by a TH-camr Mua that passed away last year, right? Even the cover of the palette was a unique creation from Mel's tattoo artist and its inspired on Mel's tattoos 😢 Since it launched that palette was always sold out and when Mel suddenly passed in Aug 2021 every one asked SG to bring it back cause many didn't get the chance of getting it before, since then I think that now its a permanent Palette and it's always sold out still 😍 Mel was amazing as a person, as a makeup professional and makeup lover and that palette totally reflects Mel's personality 💔 Even more than a year later there isn't a launch that I don't think of her and miss her reviews and tutorials 😢

I don’t think Mandy pays attention to social media, or any beauty news, or that she watches any other beauty TH-camrs, at least not the last year. If she does, she misses a whole lot of important news and doesn’t really listen to how other TH-camrs pronounce brand names, etc. She wasn’t aware BH Cosmetics went out of business, for example. She doesn’t read comments, either. I still like to watch her videos, and don’t necessarily think it’s a bad thing to not read comments or live on social media, since it can be so toxic and people can be so mean. She doesn’t seem to worry about views or subscribers, even though she asks people to subscribe and comment, and just does her own thing. I really like her channel, but I also super-duper cringe when she misses big news she *should* know, or mispronounces brand names, like Uoma.
Just wanted to say, I agree with you! I too, have noticed that she never replies or comments on her videos. Your comment was so thoughtful and yet helpful. Thanks!
@@jo4vt I agree social media its hard and unfortunately there are many toxic people on the Internet, but when a brand send products and one of them it's a collab it doesn't hurt find out who the person is 😳 at least doesn't happen to talk about a person that passed more than a year ago like if she was alive 😬 it just doesn't sound right 😥 especially for people who loved Mel and followed her for years 😢 Don't get me wrong I like Mandy and her videos, and been subs for quite some time but I usually don't leave comments, and every time I left one she answered me so no idea why you are saying she doesn't care nor read/respond to comments 😶
I think Mandy and several or many were good friends with Mel.
Her disease was horrific and a long battle. She was a lovely person
My favorite pallet this year is the ABH Rose Metals pallet. It’s right up my alley. It also made me look into the ABH website. I love her products. The foundation I have in 3 shades. It’s beautiful! I would’ve tried the bronzer but already have a lot that I need to use. I also bought 2 of the lipsticks that I need to use. Love your videos.
The Nouveau is my fav palette from 2022 as well! I just love it!
Sydney Graze pallets you can remove the shadows. I have moved a few into my singles collection.
To answer your question - it's the Morphe Gilded Desert palette. I was gifted it by my parents 4 Christmas & I ADORE the color story!!! I wish somebody here on YT would do a series of looks that uses EVERY shadow within that palette @ some point because I need inspiration.

I agree, youtube seems to hate morphe bit honestly Im quite satisfied and impressed with morphe shadows, I like my jaclyn hill (new formula, supposed to be not as good) more than my lorac, abh, sydney grace, and nabla palettes. Ive been scammed by influencers.

Summer Days is in my top 5 palettes of all time. ☀️ If you combine the bottom row shimmers, it’s next level! I thought California Coast might be the one to dethrone Summer Days, but I’m with you. CC needed a shell pink for inner corner work. Still love it with my whole heart 💕
Happy New Year! I just bought the Essence Taupes palette and love it! I’ve always been a fan of grays - feel like they set off blue eyes well. My other favorite is the WW Walking on Eggshells. Inexpensive but effective palettes are big wins for me!
Agreed! How many palettes do you have that you use every color? I love every shade and the formulas are as good as high end. It is in my top 3. Also the matte grey is the perfect eyebrow color for my grey haired features, and that perfect grey was hard to find.

My top 3 palettes of the year had to be the ND my dream palette, Lunar beauty nude prism palette, and ND retro glam palette in that order! Retro glam could move up as I use it more but the my dream palette flatters my green eyes sooo much more and lunar beauty really killed it with their nude palette!

I do love my Syndey Grace Times Fancy Face Tropic Palette. I use it with the Pat M. Holliday palette and My Mel Thomson Times SG, Tiny Marvels. These are the best!!!! Quality is so GOOD.
I can't believe Viseart was not mentioned. As far as I know the Viseart brand has a cult following especially among professional makeup artists. I splurged on two Viseart palettes and will never need to reach for or try anything else. Perfection.

That was couple years ago. Recently they had such a good sale I talked myself into the Bijouxette Etendu and the San Francisco Etoile. I am just happy when I use these palettes -- the colors are so beautiful and dense and they feel luxurious. Applying the shimmers with my fingers is so fun. 😍 Btw I am light skin with yellow undertone and every shade is nice on me. But I didn't get any real cool toned palettes. Hope this helps. I don't think you'd be disappointed with Viseart but maybe wait for sales if you need to -- I think they have sales pretty often. 🌷

I’d like to see a look with the ABH Rose Metals palette! It’s very pretty but looks really dark to me!
My number one palette I tried this year is a tie it’s between the tarte full bloom, and lunar beauty nude prism.
Number 16 is the Cutie Metropolitan. I understand the lil slip up since both palettes' packing have very similar color stories, I usually have to keep them separate so I don't confuse them myself.

My jaw literally dropped open when you held up the ABH Nouveau. A split second before, that palette flashed in my mind because I am crazy about it, but I thought you would choose Natasha Denona or Sydney Grace. When I saw the pretty green packaging, I was so surprised, but very pleased. It is my favorite palette EVER!!! It is just so me with the grungy, muted, gorgeous shades. So classy and all the colors so well-chosen. Love the linen-like palette cover. I found it on sale for $46, I think at Macy's a few months ago. It did not disappoint at all when I received it in the mail. I will probably buy another because I know that I will always love it like no other. So, glad you love it too. I want Rose Metals and know it is lovely in a sisterly way to Nouveau. The more I see it, the more I want it. It's like an extension of Nouveau, but Nouveau will always have my heart. 😍Your whole look in this video is just lovely. Your eyes are gorgeous and I noticed how very pretty your blush is. This year, all the new palettes i tried were ones I got for last Christmas, so Giant Wolves is topping the list so far, but also surprisingly fond of Too Faced That's My Jam. The colors are prettier in person than they even look online. Your choices were interesting, and the last few palettes are ones I'd love to have.
My number 1 palette was the ND dream palette - I have to force myself not to use that sometimes. But I also found Sydney Grace this year and I love that Tiny Marvels palette so much. I like that sweet indulgence palette too if anyone likes color. It is on clearance for $10. I can’t believe it’s not sold out.
I just bought the Tiny Marvel's palette yesterday along with the In Memory of Mel's bundle & 2 of the $10 Chase your dreams & like you am surprised it's not sold out lol beautiful 9 pan palette that's why I got 2 😀

I so agree with your #1 palette! I bought it and felt guilty about spending so much, even though I used a coupon, I ended up returning it! What?! Huge mistake! I missed it so much! I ended up purchasing it new from Mercari. Paid $17 for it. But, I was ready to wait for my $10 bday coupon to repurchase it at Ulta. I get compliments every time I use it. It is my favorite!

Abh makes one of my favorite formulas, but I haven’t bought any of the new palettes yet. I feel like the rose metals resembles the Jackie Aina palette. And the other new one is similar to Tiny Marvels. Since I already have those I guess I feel like I don’t need the new abh then. Maybe they’ll come out with something more new looking in 2023. I really want to try more Indy brands this year. Like Lunar Beauty, Odins eye; something different. I have Natasha Denona palettes and I have a Huda Beauty palette. The formulas are good, but I want to try something new.
I wish the Sigma Ambiance palette was a different color on the inside so I can get a better feel of the color story. The gold packaging is pretty but I'd rather a more muted color on the inside.
This! The inside color of their palettes being so reflective really take away from the color story imo.

I purchased your top two palettes for me this Christmas. Retro Glam came first and I haven't gotten to the ABH on yet. Finding it hard to put down the Retro Glam.
My favorite palette I tried is Nomad Paradise Islands, looking forward to pulling it out more in spring

I would love to know and see the difference using a dry or wet shadow, pros and cons. What do you wet it with? When and why should you wet it? Love your videos. Happy new year 🎉
If you’re talking about wetting shimmers, you can wet them with anything like water or setting spray. Most people use setting spray. I’ve found the best ones are the setting sprays with glycerin in them. They help so the shimmer goes on creamier, smoother and without fallout (or at least a heck of a lot less) and it helps it look more metallic like if you’d applied it with your finger. Most will be more impactful when applied with fingers or when wet. But there’s some formulas that are already creamy and metallic looking when dry and don’t change much when wet. But if u have a shimmer you feel is a little lackluster or feel has a lot of fall out, try wetting it. Pick some up on your brush like you normally would, then lightly spray it with setting spray (you want it damp, not soaking wet). I also like to use those dual ended sponge tipped eyeshadow applicators. I get a bag of disposable ones from the dollar store and use them to apply shimmers. They always apply just like they look with my finger, and I found I don’t need to wet them at all when I use the sponge tipped applicator (or my finger but I can’t get precision with my finger so like the sponge tipped applicator or brush for precision). Some mattes can be mixed too to make them into kind of a gel liner. I’d recommend a mixer for that though more than setting spray.
I don't understand why Essence didn't release some of their small palettes in EU... I can't find the taupe and the rose anywhere for the life of me. - oh, and I totally agree with your n.1! Totally awesome palette!

For those who like the Natasha Denona Retro Glam, but really love the Sydney Grace formula, try the Mel's Memory collection from SG. It gives the same feel as the ND, and contains a few more shades. While the colors are not identical, they are comparable. Both palettes are lovely, of course.

Just a side note I have the nars orgasm laguna bronzer and the multiple and I love it in the summer time I don’t know why I would not come up with those colors myself but there’s something about them that I love with a little bit of sparkle like when I’m feeling kinda ick it looks good I also bought some Natasha denona and all I can say is that I’m trying to go through my makeup cuz I have a lot and I don’t want to waste money so I’ll be wearing makeup to work looking forward to the New Year!

I have what seems to be the same earrings but in a gold/brass finish; Lucky brand at TJMaxx/Marshalls for $12.99. Bought them a couple of months ago.
Since I started a project pan, I'm not so excited about buying a new eyeshadow palette:) it is difficult to have a pan 😀

The other problem with the Taupe it Up palette is that it isn't TAUPE! It's grey but without the brown tinge that would make it taupe. So it was a particularly bad color story given what they called it. It also seemed like the tones were not particularly workable or flattering on a lot of different complexions. Definitely my least favorite of that bunch as well.
I love it. It's the only palette I have like it and I actually do find it flattering. Sorry I should've said which palette I'm referring to, the Colourpop That's Taupe is the one I find flattering

I love grey-taupes and I don’t love essence mini taupe one either. It’s also kinda patchy. I love the neutral one though! I have most of the essence mini palettes and at that price I can’t be too mad at any of them
I love greys and Taupe it Up is actually my favorite cheap palette! Though it is very powdery and I have to be careful applying so it doesn't end up all over my under eyes making me look punched in the eyes.

Unique does not mean everyday wearable or flattering. Honestly I don't watch videos that are heavy with duochromes. They are not flattering on everyone and I rarely, maybe never, have wore any duochrome I own

Indie brands have the BEST duo/ multi-chromes! They blow name brands away❣️ Unfortunately, most of them are very colorful, so you probly wouldn't like them.... Love these ranking videos❣️
The rose will go on pallette I probably like more than anything else I own, although I do use the dark chocolate browns from the elf new classics for my outer corner, still though the $4 price tag with how flattering those essence palettes are convinces me that people are scamming us all.
Sydney Grace will definitely be on my list for this year.

SG is my favorite eyeshadow brand hands down. I do not have Tiny Marvels, but have the Enduring Love in light which is their best selling palette I think. It's mostly neutral but with a few pops of color. I also have several of their singles. Like someone else mentioned below they have a Xmas in July sale which is their biggest one of the year. They also have a good Black Friday sale too, hope that helps!

Sigma’s mattes are a nice formula, but the shimmers are just dry! They swatch nicer than they appear on the actual eye. Just my humble opinion.

I agree about the Nubian Earth from Juvia’s place. It’s such a beautiful colour story so I bought it without even watching reviews and when I got it, I was like wth happened to their formula?? Those shimmers are terrible! Good thing I got it on sale. SMH.
I skipped out on the ND pastel color. I would never used this. The colors are for younger people. Looks like a Clair palette.

Do you have any suggestions for the best dupe for the Naked2 palette? It was my first high end pallet and I LOVED IT. I loved all of the shades except the pinky glitter one. Now it’s discontinued and I want a new option!

I love Sigma. TAKE IT BACK! I'm just kidding. Kind of lol. Given how much you love Retro by Natasha, I think you'd really enjoy New Mod. I was surprised because it is one of my fav of Sigma's palettes, and berry toned isn't typically my jam.
Sigma's mattes can be a bit strong, and I don't think the purples were the best sampling of their mattes. There were a couple of shimmers in that palette I didn't love earlier. I love the 1st 6 shadows in the palette, though, so I love the palette. The neutrals are chefs' kisses for me, and that warmer purple is one of my favorite shadows in general.
I think Ambiance is beautiful. It has my kind of neutrals. I love those terracotta leaning shades. I do tend to overlook it until I find myself drooling over a neutral palette. Then I pull it out. I really wanted Not A Box of Chocolates but I think it looks pretty similar to Ambiance.
I do kind of feel about Natasha they way you feel about Sigma. Especially the minis. The shadows dry out quickly, and the packaging breaks so easily if you dare to go through and wipe it down.
My number 1 palette this year by far, Natasha denona my dream. # 2 ABh rose metals.
Other high ranking palettes would be huda empowered, pat McGrath that mini palette, and mothership X, Nars…. The abh nouveaux palette, the tones of the greens clash with my skin tone. Instead of looking flattering, it somehow drains the color from my face and makes me look dull. Doesn’t look good. So that’s a fail. The nd retro glam is I don’t like but I like that brand so I’d be happy with it because of that… 😬 but, that goes to show how different colors look different on different skin tones and different eye colors!
