Great video. Little tip for getting handlebar grips off - poke the straw from a can of WD40 or similar underneath and squirt a bit down there, should twist right off. Just remember to clean it off if you're replacing with new grips.
Yo, andy i got the same bike same color. I did the same thing, change the handlebars. But i also put a rear bafang 750w wheel hub with a 35 amp controller and a CSC front 1500w hub wheel with a 35amp controller too. Got a motorcycle signal switch and i installed front and rear signal lights front headlights, rear tail lights a horn. Change the gearing on it, hydraulic brakes. All i need is another big battery im saving to get one. Dude I done a lot of stuff to it and it fun and fast. Wish i could send you a pic. Well cant wait to see what you going to do to your fat bike. I have a barracuda rogue 20x4 fat bike (36v 250w). I've changed the controller for a 1000w version and added a 52 volt battery ,it runs great with the stock 250w motor .Great acceleration and a top speed of around 25mph
Just ordered parts to do this on my Rad Mini 4 in the States. Using a Jones H-Loop bar now and it's just awkward. Feel like I'm flapping my arms like a dodo bird. Upgraded the controller and display last year with the stock 500w motor. A 750 arrives in a few days. Thanks for the handlebar tip !! Been looking forward to the change.

I have an engine x which I'm happy with. I was thinking of fitting a bigger toothed crank though as the 7 speed tourney is a bit short on the gearing. don't particularly like the idea of ghost peddaling. it would be a cheaper and less aggro option to fit a 52+ tooth ring. what do you think?

This mod is a bit of a waste on the Engwe, because the adjustable handlebars are a really good feature that can give you a really comfortable riding position. A much better mod for the Engwe is just using a riser bar to give you a wider handle bar. The BMX mod is however a great mod for the Fiido M1 or M1 Pro which has a ridiculously stumpy fixed stem, and a really uncomfortable riding position if you're average height or over. In either case removing the stem is a totally unnecessary solution to the problems posed by either bike.
Ah yeeeah, Andy that intro music just lit me up 😎. 1. The old school BMX steerer expander is good but if your arms are jacked they tend to fail loosing their grip. But this is usually doing crazy stuff on them and I know your not that inclined hehe. 2. The new handlebars are ace, they really transformed the look for the better with more confidence and control. Looking forward to the next upgrade !

I have the same caliper with the cover that falls off. If you lost the cover just put a 25 cent LR44 battery in it and a layer of electrical or rubber tape to hold the battery in.
I don't know about you, but the more that I Google looking for a new bike as a doner for some big power mods, the 20" fat bike is where its at, a lot look exciting. Especially if a 8kw motor paired with a 200a controller, it will either be hours of high power fun or 5 minutes of dangerous hair raising fun...

i never found a video for doing this mod on my vitilan v3 ebike. This wa the only video that helped mje since it looked to be the same mechanism. This mod is perfect and I highly reccomend it to anybody wanting to do the same. For me I just had one person holding the bike while i was twisting the grip off slowly with two hands. This let me preserve the grips to reuse instead of ruining them.

Two years and still going well so roll on some drier and warmer weather. How about some two meters or seventy cms bike mobile. 🤔
I like the look but that +- button should be within reach without letting go of the handlebars. I am constantly switching pedal assist modes where I ride to get around tight obstacles blocking trails etc, too bad it couldn't reach the left top bar position.
Dig what you are doing Andy. You know your stuff. A few companies make this style bike...maybe the same frame for all different brands Lectric XP 2.0 I believe is similar as an example.. I would like to hotrod one of these also. Put an aftermarket big amp controller inside the top tube and have a high amp 72V 20 amp-hr + battery made or make one yourself with bluetooth BMS in a shark type battery case with 21700 high discharge cells and screw it to the top tube which is square-ish and would be very solid. I want one of these for fooling around on as well. Cheers from the other side of the pond which is still the wild west for ebikes.
Im intrigued by what you're going to do to this bike. I have a barracuda rogue 20" fat bike. I do find the 250w motor is lacking. May look at possibly d Putting a 1000w conversation kit on it and seeing how that goes. I shall be watching this.
I have put a 52T in front, now it`s more relaxed. Now i`m looking if it would be possible to put a torque censor on it. So the power is more controllable.

I have a mammoth fat tyre and love it untill the chain come off and done my sensor in. Still got throttle but the milage has halved 18 miles top speed is 20mph with me on it around 18. The sensor is solderd to the control panel. Would you recommend i cut the sensor wires and attach a new one or will that be useless. Be great if you could get back to me will make a short video to show you what i mean thanks Bert&Smokey. 👌👍

What about making contact with the guys who make the Electric Racing Bikes that are raced in the IOM TT and see if they will send you a kit of parts to build a faster bike.
I got one yesterday but they seem to have changed the software it won't unlock. I've seen a few comments from others with the same problem. I think it is only models sold in the last month or so. Does anyone know a workaround or of other options.

Next time you need to remove a handlebar grip. .. push a flat screwdriver inbetween the grip n bar then spray water in. Remove screwdriver an twit grip , it will come straight off , without damage
i lgot a tip , from a mate who owns a bike shop. when you have to get the grips off, just spray some wd40 on the bit facing away from you and give it a twist leave for a while then they come off easy. 👈👺👀👀😒👀👉🦉

I love the look of the fat bike wheels and the BMX bars but the frame is just bothering me.... I wish they'd make a decent BMX framed electric bike for a good price, they do have the Zooz bike and Electric BMX Racer but not a BMX street bike. Did you fix it, I saw another TH-cam video, guy had same problem out the box but found the cable was loose, tightening it solved the gear change problem

The bars look great but is it possible to fit a long saddle kinda Raleigh Chopper style. I like the idea of converting a fat bike that has the feel of a Super 73 for cruising around on.
The handlebars really change the look and handling of the whole bike. Best upgrade.

BMX bar is the best upgrade on my fatty (20") e-bike too. Night and day difference. Stability at its finest.
I bought a similar stem and it came with little spacer things to fill in the gap under your new handlebar setup

You need to get into 3D printing, very handy for making Mount's for controller's and stuff

Andy mate, you can get spacers to fill that gap under the stem. Any bmx shop should sell them.

Starting to see why you didn't show taking the stem off, I can't get mine of the bolt is stuck it's driving me nuts.

Cool mods Andy. I've got a Hitway BK6, and I really dislike that long folding stem. I'm fitting BMX handlebars this coming week.
Get some black 1 1/8" mtb spacers for your stem to tidy it up 🤙🏻🤙🏻

If you would like to have a higher sitting position, would the BMX handle bars sit too low you think? Maybe a longer stem will fix that?

What's wrong with the 48V 1000W motor? Seems to be the industry standard.
What is the range on this stock bike? Without any battery upgrade or rear hub motor change? The company site does not have that data available.
The future reference you can get scaling rings which are used for tall people that would fill in the gaps

you should be able to increase the rpm settings on the display unit to give it more boost.
