- Shown here, CSX Q353 gets the go-ahead from the Wheeling Crew to depart Connellsville Yard. Then, a CSX high-rail appears while CSX Q353 exits the yard. When all of a sudden, CSX Q138 comes east with 5 double stacks in a row leading the train! This is quite a rare sight for the Pittsburgh subdivision.. CSX Q138's power was CSX ES44DC 5402, CSX SD70ACe 4831, & CSX C40-8W 7663. Q138 was quite long this day! Then after CSX Q138, & Q353 cleared the yard, Wheeling, under the CSX ID of Z480, departs.
Thanks Kyle! It was quite a surprising day for action here!
Very beautiful continuation of shots. Congratulations. 5*
Awesome video, Ian! That was a great catch with the meet and the SD70ACe! 5*
Good to hear you have a good job.
wow nice catches..and yea is was a busy day..that Hy-Rail was nice !!! 5* and favs
So I see the engineer of Q353 didn't blow his horn for that crossing and Q138 did. Very strange but nice meet! 5 stars!!!!!
Oh yes; most certainly so! Thanks Again
Makes more sense considering whoever is waiting to cross the tracks can already see him in the yard anyway. And your welcome!
Thanks Jeff!
Thanks! It was quite a busy day! The High rail was quite interesting!
Thank You.
Your correct. I should have looked into that more or less. McKeesport is still a public crossing zone to blow for. They still sound for crossings from what I see... Usually whenever the crossings are OOF ( out of service ) they do not sound.
Thanks Mal!
Glad to hear that you are at least employed still.. That would be interesting as a job, but I'm sure it was quite interesting with the removal of the Baltimore & Ohio CPL's..
Sorry for a late reply, and thanks!
Its because that trains inside the yard don't have to due to when they are working, they dont have to blow every single time.. When on the mainline, its mandatory. Thanks!
Haha That's the busiest I have seen it here in years
Its been that way for years on end about crews being grouchy, lacking sleep, etc. , etc. I've been told by some friendly intermodal conductors that they refer the coal crews as to " walking zombies ".. I've even had the honor of being made of fun by one. The signals they have now are hood's.. Though east of Greene Junction ( and Greene Junction itself ) are still equipped with CPL's. Though CSX is already beginning to replace the Pittsburgh & Lake Erie Searchlights near Pittsburgh..
Thanks for clearing that up for me. How goes things?
nice video bro!
Nice vid!
Haha
