How can you test the sensor to make sure it's a good one? Are there certain ohm readings that we can check for?

Most guys just replace them. The check engine light is the test.

@MattsShop in my yukon, I have the 2 up front and I'm assuming I have side impact sensors since I have the side airbags in my seats, plus there's the pressure sensor under the passenger seat. I don't want to shotgun money at the problem, so I'd like to figure out which one is the issue and I don't have the diagnostic scanner that reads the bcm codes. That's why I was asking if I could check the sensors individually by reading them with a multimeter, etc

great video, at a guess you could probably take a multimeter to the junk yard and test the ohms and compare it to a good one

I only paid $30 for a new one for my 05 Buick LeSabre from advance Auto

But those are aftermarket replacement parts which people have reported to have varying degrease of success with. Especially with GM trucks like the silverado. He was way better off getting used OE GM ones at a junkyard then buying aftermarket replacements from the parts store. My 06 Silverado has had the airbag light on for over a year now due to these sensors.
