    Theres not a night time ban on flights into EMA, unlike Heathrow, plus with its central location and being next to the M1 makes it an ideal cargo hub. East Midlands Gateway logistics park also under construction next door to EMA, and that has millions of sq ft of warehousing and a rail connection.
    EMA is also used by the UK based F1 teams and Rolls Royce engines (built close by in Derby) for freight as well. Its cargo ops are definitely more interesting than its passenger ops.

    Probably the best airside footage I've watched with Big Jet TV despite the horrid weather. Really informative and interesting footage and great input from the EMA guys. Totally awesome Jerry and Gilly.. Happy New year Big Jet TV and I'm looking forward to a big aviation 2020 ✈️

    Great show, love watching every second of it! I also managed to catch a Kalitta air 747-400f (N707CK) parked outside DHL not so long back.

    Great video. Really enjoyed live near Edinburgh Airport and regularly hear/see the Star Air 767 head to east Midlands most nights.. aswell as the west Atlantic jets too.

    Did you know during the day EMA has more passenger flights, but the later it gets the more cargo flights coming in/out.

    This should happen at Manchester airport 😊

      It would be nice, but is there the ramp space with the current overnight stayers, that go out early and already park over there by Cargo Centre during the night and also the objections from villages on the 05 end of the runway of increased flights at night.

      @rossnolan2883 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mark Plane I understand how ever never say never the time will come and they will have to change their schedule for the freight to come in otherwise there is not worth having a cargo centre in Manchester that was my only worry 😊

      EMA is more central, and closer to the south east than MAN. A big consideration with these hubs is lorry drivers driving hours, drive down the M1 in the early hours and theres loads of DHL trucks going to / from EMA. Big bonus with EMA is the 24 hr operations compared to most airports. Manchester Airport owns East Midlands Airport so I wouldn't hold your breath with freight moving to MAN

      @@sharpley753 true but it's something worth thinking about and I would enjoy seeing the cargo planes every so often ☺️
