What a decent movie! Not surprised only 405 likes..nobody wants to watch a "corny" film like this. But these are the values I grew up with in the 1950's: my mother was the president of the PTA + garden club. My dad was an engineer who started every day M-F leaving cut grapefruit on the table then going to 6:30 am Mass before working. He was my brother's Boy Scout leader. I was so blessed and appreciate it more every day. This 🎥🍿 is so special. Thank you so much.
What a melody! Old good tune, heard all the time in the BGM. I miss home with Mother, and hereDanny too, a fine boy who should change the world. Dynamism of Dad and his son, Bravo!
Thank you posting this film. I havent seen too many movies with John Boles, except some with Shirley Temple. He's a handsome gentleman type and a good singer.
Typical classic old Hollywood with the Cowboy and his brave "Indian" sidekick. Portraying a man as a caricature with all the stereotypes of a Native American.
Heathercliff, I agree. They made entertaining films, and that's probably why the movie industry had it's" Golden Age". Nowadays, they seem to think we all want to see violence, cruelty, explosions, stressful situations, etc. I hardly watch t.v. now : ( just have a look at the number of films, dramas, soaps, etc., involving crime, murder, disasters, aliens, paranormal rubbish, porn, foul language, any sort of nastiness ) , except maybe the more challenging quiz shows, fine classical music, or documentaries..sure there are some excellent things made now, but the general trend is downwards...... it's so sad really . It's so nice to dip into the huge number of old films and shows here on TH-cam. They have been particularly valuable during these sad virus times, making us laugh . I've just found Jay Leno's " Headlines" , often l.o.l. , every few seconds.😊. Thank you so much for valuing these old films and letting us lose ourselves in the stories. Saw " The Luck of the Irish" not so long ago, a charming film. 😊🇬🇧💕🇬🇧😊
@@rosemariemann1719 We certainly seemed to have been led astray. It is sad how we have willingly allowed for it to corrupt, especially onto young minds. They will never know a time where most of us drew the line when it came to depraved degenerate behaviour. What a world. And yes, I’m so grateful to TH-cam, to be able to escape to a time not long ago that was less agro, self obsessed, and demanding of respect without earning it. Be well ❤️
To me, the most memorable scene in this movie was when John Boles sang the song "Danny Boy"for his young son on the dinner table. It was a particularly moving scene, featuring thru John Boles character singing his love for his son Danny. It reminded me of my father, who also sung me songs when I was a little lad. It is a treasure to see this old movie again. I often watched the afternoon TV matinee during those hot summer afternoons along with my friends and siblings at home when I was a kid, and this was one of those memorable gems I remember to this day. Thanks for uploading this pizzaflix. For those who dislike this movie, you sirs/madames have no soul whatsoever!
What a sweet kid! I usually don't like child actors, but this kid was adorable. Reminds me of my son when he was young. Always so happy and kind hearted.
So good I re watched the movie right after the first viewing. So touching it brought back memories when I was struggling at the age of 19 years old. The day I left my father home. Boy have I done well for myself. Praise God 🙏😇
Great movie, great acting, showing principles that the entertainment industry just does not do anymore, great story line and ending, with hard work and proper love for a child.....
Typical classic old Hollywood with the Cowboy and his brave "Indian" sidekick. Portraying a man as a caricature with all the stereotypes of a Native American. One character says "If you're gonna be an Indian be a good Indian" ...Are these the principles of which you speak?
It's too bad that Hollywood's scruples have been missing the mark on teaching good morals in recent decades. This movie is a great lesson on family morals!
25:00ー子は鎹かすがい kasugai? It is said "children hold a marriage together." I love the human relationships between a child and its parents that is shown like here. Thanks. Let's return our innocent minds.
These movies are my Prozac! Ii guess that makes you my shrink, Pizzaflix! Thank you for the dose of sanity in this crazy, mixed-up, impersonal, plastic world, which is still quite beautiful. 😅
When a down-on-his luck singer turns to radio acting as a means of supporting his young son, he ultimately discovers the means of realizing his professional dreams!
I have watched this movie several times and it has made me cry every time. John Boles was wonderful and the little boy was superb. Ahh, tugged at my heartstrings, thank you so much.
A wonderful story there were more standards VALUES than one could mention the acting was more like true to life you feel as though your standing right there next to them l thought each actor was so true to their roll it's so refreshing to watch a movie with all of life's true happenings Boy was incredible ❤❤❤❤❤

But he was given credit in all 10 of his TV series' guest roles, such as 2 episodes of The George Burns and Gracie Allen Show. A "tear jerker" of a "comedy". I've yet to see a Phil Rosen film that I didn't like. It's a bit sad, though, that -- like many of his contemporizes --P. R. didn't have as big a budget as he deserved.
This man is too shy. He should start to sing in front of this secretary. Naughtiness wins. Just singing for private moments doesn't help him. He should believe in himself. Remembers me to a new movie with Will Smith. Also a father and son story.
Typical classic old Hollywood with the Cowboy and his brave "Indian" sidekick. Portraying a man as a caricature with all the stereotypes of a Native American.
The kid is a good little actor but I'm not sure it's any better to dress a boy up in men's clothes than it is to dress a little girl up in women's clothes-- it just looks unnatural. The father needs to grow a backbone, he's too milktoast.
Dear Ms. Wanda James, If any character needs to grow a backbone in this movie is the woman named MILLIE, or in short, Danny's mother. It was Danny's mother decision to put Danny in military school not the father, who wanted to take full responsibility to raise his son properly. If John Boles character did not have any backbone he would not have snubbed the butler at the door or demanded that he take full custody and responsibility in raising Danny right even though he had very limited resources and was in fact, on the verge of becoming a pauper. John Boles character is not a milk toast he is a man willing to take responsibility for the care and welfare of someone he loves and do the right thing possible. If there is any milktoast character in this movie, again it is MILLIE, the negligent mother! Please watch this movie again and make comments that are base on the movie's premise.

What happened to Hollywood? How are movies like this not being made anymore. There is a huge audience hungry for this.

I Truly enjoyed the video So heart touching, of a FATHER and son. Excellent MOVIE. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
I really enjoyed this movie and the acting from young Billy Lee was superb. I thought he resembled Haley Joel Osment a bit!
Oh yes! I kept wondering who he reminded me of. Thanks for putting me out of my misery 😊.
That little boy is so darn cute.
Almost as cute as the kid on over the top
I sure do like his army outfit
