    I played this in Afghanistan on my 3DS. I had a handful of retro games from the ambassador program or some shit and I played this for a week and loved it. I also got into Fire Emblem because of the GBA Fire Emblem game that was on there also. Something about sacred stones or some shit

      Bruh Fire Emblem is my SHIT! Love that series. Also you had the ambassador 3DS?! Maaaaaaan I wish I had that when it was a thing.

      @@2elusivereviews I probably would have never gotten into turn based RPG’s if it weren’t for the ambassador program. I avoided them like the plague growing up. I tried Phantasy Star 2 on the sega genesis when I was in middle school and that turned me off to turn based. I was told much later in life that PS2 was probably the worst game for a new turn based player to try lol

      @LuciferHunter-kt7pm Oooooo...yeah Phantasy Star 2 is a horrible first experience. I played that sucker after experiencing other turn based games like Grandia, Breath of Fire 3 and FF6 before hand and I remembered putting it down forever.

    Good observations all around, Fusion is also my favourite for much of the same reasons, followed by Dread. I especially love how it plays with its linearity. At first missions are as straightforward as following the objective marker, then as you go you have to think about how to get to the marker at all, then it just starts going off script entirely, and it's both in the narrative and gameplay, so brilliant!

      Yuuuuuuuuuup, straight facts right there!

    Great analysis. I actually loved your perspective on the plot and I will never stop recommending this game to people

      You and me both, homie! I had to say something after beating this game on the switch recently.

    The controls were a bit clunky, but it was a great story with some really fun and challenging fights.

      In what way are the controls clunky?

    It's unfortunate that my first and only metroid game is Metroid prime on the Nintendo DS... I think it was then that I figured out that metroidvanias isn't my cup of tea...

      @2elusivereviews  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Ouch...I'd say try to play a different Metroidvania game entirely. Prime is VERY different from your traditional game, especially since that one is done in first person. If you like, I can recommend some more later.

      Ehh... Metroid Prime Hunters really isn't a great example of what the series has to offer. I think it's fair for what it is and when it came out. But it's near the bottom of the list for me.
      If you ever feel like giving the series another shot, I highly recommend Zero Mission or Fusion as your first 2D Metroid. Dread is a great choice as well, though it's arguably the most difficult game in the series and that's not a selling point for everyone.

      @@2elusivereviewsI played metroid prime blind, I knew nothing of the game, I just thought it was another platformer. Aside from the Kim Possible game, I was never keen on platformer-shooter games.... But I just said "what the heck, it's metroid, maybe I'll surprise myself by enjoying the game and any of the subsequent metroid games" turned that sucker on, got a little hype with the text screen like any other kids are and when the game started............ My excitement dwindled drastically like the black dude from Lilo and Stitch when every time he orders his mint chocolate chip ice cream and he was about to eat it, it falls to the ground.... That dude was me with metroid prime....

      Yeeeeeeah. A lot of people praised the game for being good, but clowned it for being too linier. Left the fans divided for a good bit. I however love the hell out of this game since day 1.

      Same, had this as my only gba game back in the day when it launched.....nearly perfect. I never understood the "it's too linear" complaint.

    • @2elusivereviews
      @2elusivereviews  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @nephilexfrost7202 I can kind of understand the complaint. Thing is, it doesn't really hold too much weight due to what the game is trying to do and succeeded on top of that.

      @@2elusivereviews don't get me wrong, I understand calling it linear....but it couldnt exist otherwise. In previous Metroid games the mission is pretty much 'go do a thing, check in when your done". In fusion....your done with the initial mission just !minutes into the game, then it evolves event by event. Look at BOTW. A game that is TRULY open is hard pressed indeed to tell a compelling story. So I just don't understand why complain about the linearity is all.

    • @2elusivereviews
      @2elusivereviews  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @nephilexfrost7202 Ooooo, straight facts indeed. And that is a good example to use. Admitidly, BOTW isn't my cup of tea, buuuuuut I give it mad props in its ability to tell a good story. It's the reason why I kept playing it.
