Running from the law - EDSA Busway

  • There’s no easy day on EDSA, unless you give up.
Watch as the MMDA continue their efforts to bring discipline to EDSA.
Many people have said that it’s time for LTO to start suspending and revoking licenses.
Although without impounding, it’s quite possible that some people would continue to drive, even with a suspended or revoked license - as we’ve seen in the past.
The MMDA have a clear image of the driver, passenger and the plate number of the rider that failed to stop.

Big difference between traffic violations than evading law authority and endangering the lives of law officers in front of these fast running motorcycles. They must get arrested instantly, with jail time and impound their vehicles. Enforced the law to the fullest consistently with no mercy. So people that supports the traffic law or any other laws, will not get frustrated and be disappointed to the officers enforcing the law. Polite, strict and firm officers are always commended and respected.

With the new penalties on Monday, do you think there will be more frequent violators that will run away instead of paying the ticket? Knowing it will cost them a lot, they might opt to just floor it. Should have a specific penalty for that, no? Just a thought 🤔

Yes they allow it. Gadget addict had a video where a civilian's wife was about to give birth and they were allowed to use the bus lane.

I think more of these violators will be trying to escape the enforcers because of the high penalties. Gonna be more dangerous for everyone.
There's really no way to stop Filipinos from violating rules.
Edsa Bus Lane is so good for commuters but we, Filipinos, don't like anything that's good for us.

This is the California vehicle code "Vehicle Code 2800.1 for evading an officer is a misdemeanor. As such, it carries a maximum penalty of not more than one (1) year in the county jail and a fine of up to $1,000 dollars, a lesser penalty than the more serious § 2800.2 Felony Reckless Evading which can be charged as a misdemeanor or a felony." The penalty for a felony is maximum 3 years in prison and up to a $10,000 fine. They should implement something like this overthere. Tignan natin kung tatakbo pa sila.
