I own the LX-100 and "upgraded" to the GX-85 mainly because I can use different lenses. I also own the Olympus OM-D E-M 1 mkII which I don't use as much as the GX-85. I felt the Oly was a reach considering it's about the same size as my Nikon Z7. To me the reason to shoot MFT is the small camera and lens size. If I'm more concerned in image quality, I'm shooting high resolution full frame. Yes, there's a huge difference, especially when cropping, among other things. But I still love my GX-85 and use it a lot.
I own the Panasonic GX 9 . It really is a great camera. The only flaw it has is the auto focus. Panasonic didn't bother with focusing as much as Sony. I would also like a modern series of 12-32 II lenses etc. I want a lot ;:)
Hello from New York City! What is your favorite RAW converter software and why? Which photo do you use? How good is the G85 have shutter lag using TTL Flash? From a GH2 and GX1 shooter. who wants to upgrade my gear. Thank you for your informative videos.
I use Adobe Lightroom most of the time, it is not the best compared to newer software, but I have used it for a very long time and already feel at home with it. I haven't used TTL flash with the G85, but the regular flash shutter sync speed is 1/160s which is average. I have used it for strobist off camera flash photography in the past and it worked great. You'll be happy with a G85 for sure 😁
I own a G9. I use it for hybrid photography. Maybe I’ll purchase the G9ii used in a couple years when the price declines. The GX8/85/9 are used for street photography. Wish the GX85/9 had an audio jac too. The GX is more of a photography body. As such it demands a tilting screen. The flip screen gets in my way when deployed making the camera more obvious because the screen sticks out. Mask On Nurse Marty (Ret)
You kick off with the LX100 which is not a micro four thirds. It may be pedantic but micro four thirds (MFT) is a lens fitting. Whilst both LX100 and LX100ii use a four-thirds sensor, they use a reduced area of it which they utilise to provide multi-aspect and digital zoom. Whilst they share much of the tech with MFT they are fixed-lens compact digital zoom. They may serve as an introduction to MFT but they lack facility. Getting that wrong right at the beginning is a bit of a turn-off.
has been using GF9 for a month, loved it!

Good point regarding the 12-32mm II lens, that would be very interesting.

Just wondering: I assume you have a preference for Panasonic Lumix over Olympus, can you explain why?
Love your videos btw as they are very informative and make me enthousiastic to step into the m43-world instead of moving towards Sony.
I love my g9. Perhaps i will buy the g9ii. But it is very expensive.

I agree, I wish the GX cameras beside the GX8 have audio jack. They are the perfect all around camera. Thanks for sharing 😁

It’s obviously you love the g85. Lol.
