    You are who I learned to make my first granny square from! I'm so glad I found this video because I've been dying to make a different granny square but still needed something easy! And I learn the best from you so I knew I would be able to pick it up. Thank you for making these videos. You have helped me more than you know! ❤

    Thank you so much for sharing this video.
    I'm new to this . Before seeing your video, I was only able to do a normal stick in my grannie squares. Now, I have made the most beautiful daisy squares using your easy to follow instruction. I'm absolutely thrilled! Your explanations were so clear and easy to follow. I made a few mistake but went back to the video and sorted them out.
    Once again, thank you!
    Love Mo (Madrid) 💕

    Oh MY My MY Christa! ok first i'll say.. its awesome that you take the time to make sure everyone knows how many loops on hook when you connect, how to check if you make your slip stitch or not etc!! kUDDOS SIS!! sometimes you do and sometimes you dont and most the time you cant see it and i've not heard anyone else mention it. Thank You for that ..it's the type of tutorial i think is best helpful to everyone knew to crochet or someone that knew to the pattern. NOW!! lol DAISYS ARE MY ABSOLUTE FAV FLOWER AS WHITE IS MY ABSOLUTE COLOR FOLLOWED BY BLUE. THE MOMENT I SAW THIS..OPS CAPS I was instantly filled with joy! no kidding~ Ill be making this for spring!! hope you dont mind a copycat as these colors just scream happy . when your in a battle due to health well, one can have this about all the time and they would feel better for it. WONDERFUL! thanks again Christa x's

      Oh THANK YOU, Kathleen!! I'm in LOVE with those daisy granny squares too! I made them into a blanket. Did you see it? I think it's Vlog 17... let me check... Yup!! th-cam.com/video/mNAryBzqGgM/w-d-xo.html I haven't done the border yet - YET. Like a YEAR later! Haven't found the right one - or decided on the right one! lol
      And I am SO glad the tutorial was helpful to you! I have some students that will shamelessly repeat the same question until I figure out a way of explaining it to them that makes sense - which I am eternally grateful for! So I try to pre-explain things that I know they would get stuck on. :) Nice to know it is also helpful to you!
      BIG BIG hugs! And hollar any time! Christa. xx!

    Oooohhhh I like this....I want to try!! I ended up watching how to connect them, but need to learn this first.
    I did learn to crochet like over 20 years ago when I was pregnant with my son, hes turning 23 in February. My sister taught me, but only learned the wave blanket and how to make two baby blankets. I believe I made two wave blankets back then. I picked this up in spring and can't read patterns to well, so I have been watching youtube, and thats how I found you. Actually only started watching you tube maybe 1-2 months ago, and have learned lots and wanting to do lots!!
    I want to make an easy cardigan!!

    If you don't mind me asking what brand of yarn you are using? The colors are so vibrant!

      Hi Jens! If you only knew how long I tried to hold my yarn "properly"! ha ha ha! Oh well - I hold it how I hold it. It works for me. ;) We have our own brand of Acrylic yarn - almost every color of the rainbow! And yes - very vibrant. It's just regular craft yarn - worsted, or aran (?) It's a 4, if that helps. How many squares does it take to make an adult sizes blanket??

    • @SecretYarnery
      @SecretYarnery  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, Moka Doll!! Each square is about 5", so for a 5' x 6' blanket, you would divide each of those measurements by 5". So 12 x 15 = 180 squares for queen size. 🌻🌺🌼

    I'm new in your channel, thank you for sharing you make it so easy and you explain it very good, I have a question can a blanket be made only with the flower and be join as you go. Thank you

    • @SecretYarnery
      @SecretYarnery  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Sylvia! Thank you so much! It is so nice to know that my videos have helped you! That's awesome. :)
      The beauty of granny squares is that you can mix and match ALL of them - as long as they each have the same number of rows, and made with the same size yarn/hook. You can even make 4 small ones that add up to the same size as a big one, and them alternate between joining a big square, and then joining a square of 4 small ones.
      And yes - join as you go is perfect for granny squares! The trick is to decide if you want a joining color (like the grout line between tiles), or not (each tile touches the next tile - no grout! :) Here is the join as you go video - the same technique can be used for any granny square pattern: th-cam.com/video/VHSlJZMrn6c/w-d-xo.html
      Hope that helps?
      Christa. xx!

    How many skeins of each color were needed to make a blanket?

    • @SecretYarnery
      @SecretYarnery  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, Carla Libbey!!Depends on teh yarn and your tension. General rule of thumb: six 100g skeins = baby blanket.

    • @SecretYarnery
      @SecretYarnery  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Funny Baby! Thanks so much for watching! I can usually get about a dozen (12) 5 round granny squares from one 100g ball of yarn... sometimes more, sometimes less. Depends a lot on your hook size and tension. I would guess 10 balls of yarn? So hard to say! Christa. xx!

    Why did you chain 3 on the final corner when the other corners are only chain 2?

    • @SecretYarnery
      @SecretYarnery  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The normal corners are a chain 2 + 1 single crochet. (3 stitches). The last corner we are joining - no single crochet. So I do a chain 3 (3 stitches). Hope that helps? xx!
