I read this book to my kids and fell in love with the story. It's one of my very favorites! I didn't even know there was a movie. I just watched it, and they stayed exactly with the story line. I loved it! This was a blessing to me at a time like this.

To all the Farmers: what an honorable occupation!!! Farmers sow the seeds, growing crops, which produces food from a yielding harvest!!! "I am a Farmer and Proud of it". No finer thing in God's green Earth...Where would we be without the farmers?✔💯🌾🌿🍂🌰🌱🌞☀🌧🥒🍎🍅🍐🍋🍏🌽🍊🌶🌳🍃. What a movie 🎥

Delightful. I felt like I attended a church service. What lessons this film demonstrates! Guns are so common in todays movies; blatant violence, shootings and killings. In "Laddie," Pryor's gun wasn't even allowed into the Stanton home! I enjoyed also seeing much of the film from the child's perspective.

Today even politicians (for example Prime Minister Justin Trudeau) can't speak with such fluency, especially with such wisdom like this "little sister" does.
Before the 60ies people used to speak like this, now everyone is just tattering, ummm, emmmm, eh, aaaah, can't put a single short sentence put together with fluency. And there is no wisdom in their talk at all.

Alice Lowell; Thanks to the perverts in HEllywood, we're losing our beautiful language and the gentile mannerisms of the mid 20th century. Etiquette has completely faded away; gone with the wind. What was once common civility is turning to cruelty and decency to degeneracy. Our language has morphed into SLANGUAGE. We seem to be left with many malfunctioning moral compasses and not enough repairmen. America can be truly great again if we all strive to be polite, kind, loving, peaceful people of integrity.

    • @Twinzma

I understand what you're saying, but parents raised those that raised the next generation, etc...
It's not Hollywood, but parents that are so hands off their children, and even before the 60's every generation has their own slang. If you don't believe me, watch a 1930 movie, and how the youth spoke then. It has nothing to do with politics either. It's home, and parents. Can't blame Hollywood for raising your kids, because with a solid parental foundation, Hollywood wouldn't be able to control their manners and language.

People never speak in real world situations like they do when they are reading a pre-written script. It’s east to speak eloquently when your just reading words somebody else wrote. Also they used fake accents back then in movies (trans-continental) accent to sound more distinguished

@@mancerayder3382 yea, nice try. It was the forced "urbanization" that was the real downfall of etiquette, culture and our language. They managed to make the failures of the world "cool" and the successful emulated them. now we are so dumbed down, its pitiful.
