Pot au for is duck stew, it's gorgeous, I'm a retired chef of 45 years, I used to take my kids to euro camp south of France, great value, have a fantastic holiday buddy 'Spot on' 🇫🇷👍
I was going to say that! (Duck stew) Its good they have lots of raditors ( to keep you warm) last time i was in France (it was very rural and about 30 years ago) the local wine was 40p a bottle and 30p deposit for the bottle it was really rough. It was cheaper than buying a soft drink.

We took our kids here many years ago for their first holiday abroad and their first trip to Disneyland Paris. We all absolutely loved it and we went to Parc Asterix too. Campsites in other parts of France and also Spain and Italy followed- happy days! Domaine de Kerlann in Brittany was our absolute favourite place in France, but this one was a close second due to it being only an hour from Disney.
I now how hot it can get in them there statics from spending time at my brother in laws static at knott end it has fans but it just blows the hot air around great video you have to do one when you are cooking on the barbie 😜
I think an estate agent would say that it's 'compact and bijou', which is all you really need (other than air-con in this heat!) Ayez de bonnes vacances, Gareth !
Steve McQueen played Hilts the cooler King in The Great Escape (1963) Great movie, like the fact that all the PoW allies work together to escape. Loads of stars in that movie too.
Their basic Gareth but that’s all you need. It’s only a base too venture out. As long as you’ve got a bed, shower and kitchen too cook what more do you need. Eurocamps are spot on🙂👍🏻we’re off in August too Eurocamps.
Loving the videos Gareth so glad to see you are all having a great time. Memories came flooding back of our 2 fighting over who got the top bunk. When it was our son's turn who was a little wriggler in bed we had to put cushions on the floor to break his fall as he always fell out , happy days.
At least when you've got sunny weather the girls happy to swimming in the pool if it was cold or raining you will be spending more money trying to amuse them. Keep having a great time cheers pal👍

Hi Gareth, hope you all have a great time. We started Eurocamping in the mid 1970's (all 3 bedroom tents then) and we went all over Europe. Each year they made slight improvements, we went from gas lamps and cool boxes and eventually on to electric lights and fridges but always slept in beds, fantastic times and great hols. Love the videos and food reviews (just stocked up on the Farm Foods Chicken Vindaloo's today) not as hot as I would like but excellent taste and value. Keep up the good work and I hope your holiday is "Spot On" All the best, Alan.

Hi Gareth..try hanging a wet towel or pillowcase in front..not on the fan..maybe put the fan on the floor with the towel over a chair..it works like a cooler..spray the towel/pillowcase with water when it dries..happy holidays all..👍

Hi Gareth that looks alright as you said clean, I used to sleep in the single bed in the caravan and steal the fan from the lounge area and just have it on me as my ex-wife didn't like the fan and she was boiling too and didn't like having a window open at night, you're head looks sore mate, there's a break in the weather for you starting next Wednesday but your be back shortly after, cheers to you and your family 🍻🙏

That's an alright place that is. Pity no air con though , although we only have fans here, we do have a envirovent thing in loft, council put it in. It packs in when temps get above 25 lol. Xx

To stay cool you have to keep the sunlight out, and the walls and roof need to provide a reverse tea cosy effect with good insulation. Let it in with good insulation and it's devil to get it out. Opening windows in a shaded area can lower the temperature a bit if there is a breeze. The curtains on the sunny side need to be heavy or reflective if possible, and shutters are not out of the way. Soak yourself then stand in the shade for a quick cool down, or take a hot shower or have a hot cup of something, or chew on a chilli. Evaporation is brilliant at removing heat. Do not be alarmed if your head starts steaming. ;-)
Don't them beer bottles have twist-off caps? I've noticed you've caught the sun already - don't forget to slather on that 50+ sun protection! The caravan looks spot on!

When I was a kid if we went anywhere like this my dad would always bring food with him. Which I never understood. It's interesting to see what supermarkets sell abroad and try products you can't get back home. We used to goto supermarkets aswell anyway so he could get a newspaper each day. I never understood why we didn't get the food whilst there. Anyway great video as always.
@@lparky4409 I remember my mum once insisted we go out for something to eat. So my dad ordered me fish and chips at a Spanish restaurant. Spanish twist on a British classic. Nah. Fish came whole, head on and with bones in. Literally they'd caught a fish and whacked it on the grill. I'm sure he did it on purpose to try and get me to hate foreign food. Now I've got a daughter the same age as I was when we went abroad i always make it a mission to visit local supermarkets and see what they have. Find loads of good stuff. My dad is such an Anglophile.
A little tip for staying cool and it genuinely works....freeze some bottles of water and when there froze put them behind the fan close to the fan and instead of the fan blowing warm air around the frozen bottles cool the air as it gets blown about its a poor man's air con lol but does work TRY IT
I'm sure the duck stew will be delicious. Can I just recommend that you drink LOTS of water to regulate your body temperature and replace the sweat you lose. As you know, I live in Cyprus and water is the stuff of life. x
See you got the DUCK STEW Gareth....i can highly recommend their tins of Duck confit...you should try them they are lovely just reheat in the duckfat out the tin in the oven and serve with roast potatoes...they used to sell them in waitrose in the uk and were quite expensive here
Wrap your beer with wet kitchen roll so the bottle is covered then put it in the freezer for approx twenty mins or so , when you take it out it will be ice cold leave the hardened paper on , it keeps it insulated

Leave all the windows and doors open Gareth, just turn the fan on pointing downwards. Worked well when we stayed in Euro camps. It was 32degrees

We stayed in a pretty much identical place in the south of France but with the benefit of air con, cracking holiday.

Genuine, French brewed 1664 is a lovely drink, very different to the rubbish brewed under license in the UK.

Wrap your beer with wet kitchen roll so the bottle is covered then put it in the freezer for approx twenty mins or so , when you take it out it will be ice cold leave the hardened paper on , it keeps it insulated
