In this video, I am going to review World Rally Championship, which was released for the Playstation 2 in 2001 (Europe and Japan) and in North America in 2002. I have played this game on a Sony Playstation 2. Enjoy!
When I was a kid and played this I was not that happy, because I played WRC II Extreme before this. Nearly 10 years later, I think, after I played II Extreme I played this, but it I had huge criticism to this game. 1st off the long loading times and there is a recent discovery from speedrunning that if you choose Burns you will have the fastest load times. Car sounds do not sound good to me. Graphics were a bit wanky as well but it is not the important part from me, but although the cars models was something I did not like especially how the 206 looks. The soft barriers are solid. Mid air respawning. Drifty physics. Some details are wrong, some of the names are misspelled and some drivers are from the wrong country (For instance Schwarz and Heimer are Germans but in game Belgians), the Norwegian flag looks weird. Some drivers have wrong helmets which is something that I wish II Extreme had corrected (Grönholm and Rautiainen and some other drivers are having full face helmets and a full face baraclava. About II Extreme some drivers do not have their helmets for instance Loix, all the Skoda drivers and Rovanperä). The 206 is white when it is suposed to be silver. But this game has some positive sides to it. The car shadow is real unlike in II Extreme. The music is great especially the intro sequence.
