I'm not a returning player but I've been reading that the playercount have been severely dropping and I'm scared and worried af that the game will die in the next few months. The creativity and soul behind this game is something to cherish in today's gaming climate
@@Inesthebae Live service games always have their ups and downs. Current gaming culture also shifts a lot with many players following the trends of whatever is new and popular. I think in the long term the game will do well if the update consistency keeps this pace.
They’ll either have to go all in on the gooner stuff, or finally make good gameplay and balanced characters. Because right now most of the descendants are useless. Most of the weapons are useless. And the meta is “finish the boring missions as fast as possible”. Tits and ass skins will only do so much
The game has low players on steam but revenue was ranked #10 on Ines Raya launch. Gooning probably generates them enough revenue to keep them going for quite awhile.
Nexon has history to turn a low player count to sustain high with big update, Maplestory once only have 800~1k players per day but after they have some big chungus update the player count going through the roof. Today is peak 15k and 10k daily. TFD dev has vision, good game foundation, they just need more endgame gameplay loop that hook people in Oh and btw that's steam numbers only, there's still a lot of player were on Nexon Launcher and console too
It's hard to believe how much stuff they put it in already since lunch... and it wasn't that long ago... it's just getting bigger and bigger and bigger.. It's my favourite game 💯 love it !!!
After putting this game down for a few months since I stopped playing at the start of season 1, there was so much I came back to with the start of the new year and it was all overwhelming to say the least, but after watching this video and all this new information, I'm confident that I can get back to the grind and have no issues at all. Thanks for breaking everything down and helping everyone with your insightful knowledge! Great content as always and I'll tune in for any new stuff I may miss in the future. Thanks a ton bro!
its all the same since launch, check dailies/weeklies/season challenges, check info ad infinitum for where to get mod a, sphere a, etc, unlocked poope-i mean looter mongrel, learn how to hit enemies and big ass boss harder and faster, win. then do the hardest gameplay, fashion.
Man around the holidays we’ve been eating good.I got like 5 diff ultimate weapons thanks to the events. But season 2 has been goated so far especially with the battle pass trace rifle.
I returned for season 2 after about a 2-3 month break and im having fun. These kinds of games I can’t play for months at a time. Theres always that inevitable point where I feel caught up enough and don’t wanna do every unnecessary grind to max out. But I will say I did notice a lot of improvements upon return and will continue to play
I'm not even 10 minutes in, and you're doing a very good job detailing all of the changes. I started at launch, and I have been along for the whole ride.
Thanks for this recap of where the game is at currently! I took a break from the game a few months ago to play other stuff but with Ines dropping I've been thinking about getting back to it. It looks like many of my frustrations from when I last played have been addressed in some way which is cool. Great vid - thanks!
Things i think they should add into the game are more weapon diversity, having their own designs, unique bullets(like having bullet tracers or almost every gun having a unique way of shooting, instead of it shooting generic rounds like shotguns, rifles, snipers, etc.) And I also think they should implement another melee feature, its not very good and you can miss alot of time. Another thing is mobility/manoeuvrability, like with warframe, dodging, rolling and bullet dodge, i like the idea of TFD having a much more diversity in its mechanics and not be boring in the what it has now. I really want TFD to be the better looter shooter
Ive Returned for about three weeks and i cant stop playing this Amazing game Already put in 90 hours farming new descendants.and working on the battle pass. This game took me away from Warframe Which is one of my favorite games now that says alot😊😊😊
Honestly one of my favorite games I’ve ever played, I’m 500+ hours in, collected all the descendants and I still have soooo much shit to do. I’ve spent so much $ on customization and skins and I don’t regret any of it. I love this game, saw it in a random ad one day, hope the game doesn’t die
Never takes more than a minute to get a game with full crew. Havent stopped playing it for about 2 months, only took a break when i got sick for 2, 3 days.
I would like to emphasize how important the fellow dog is and how he changes the gameplay, as you dont have to go into inventory menu, not have to select junk, dissemble junk.. It can all be setup with filters to be done automatically. And to add that performance on hardware like the 6 core older cpu R5 3600 and the 3060 12GB is much much better than at release.
came out 6 months ago, theyve added just enough each major patch to keep you going and also seasons, atleast its not doing d2, up a wiping planets per season(great idea d2... great... idea). the title alludes to tfd being one of the many old ass mmo's that rarely add something to the rickety boat of yesteryears glory, not naming names because atleast one or two are updating for the future.
I appreciate that they seem to care about the core foundation of this game and don't just pile new things on top of systems and activities that need reworking first.
One big problem that im sure about the first descendant is…..how lack of content it has. I work from 9 to 5 everyday and still i can farm Ines (newest character) in just 1 week. Not to mention that i have also built her. After im finish having fun with her, I cant think of any reason to play this game. The devs said that he will hire lots more designers and directors. This is awesome because we may have lots more content to spend time in the future update.
It all depends what your personal goals are with the game. Things such as reaching max mastery rank, getting god roll reactors/components, perfect stat rolls on weapons, and even the new weapon core unlocking system can add up to a LOT of content to grind. It's also perfectly fine to just enjoy buidling a specific descendant and enjoy your time with them in whatever content you like. But the game is designed around a lot of the content being collecting all the different weapons and characters to build and use ro simply level up for mastery.
This video feels mistitled. It feels like it would be more fitting as "Should You Come Back to First Descendant in 2025." The video is much more like a general overview of the game and how it has changed in ways that make it better than it was at launch for people who quit the game for one QOL reason or another, rather than what the title would lead you to think in it being a general overview of the systems for someone thinking of playing the game for the first time. As a sort of sales pitch for someone who doesn't know these system going into the video, the information doesn't make any sense. Good video, but I think you're leaving some views on the table with that title.
@@TechnoTurtle9974 This definitely crossed my mind. For some reason I told myself a title like that would just attract professional hate commenters on the game, but maybe that’s exactly what we want.
Wait, so the only difference in titles would be “Come back” and “Return”? Also you took out the word “the”. Just those tiny changes would make that much of a difference you think?
The only problem they have is the LACK OF CONTENT. What players should do to keep them occupied within a month. The game has a direction and the devs are doing great with their transparency. I just started when they market ULTIMATE FREYNA lol.

Just a comparison between Warframe and tfd only
I remember getting turned off the moment I found out most of your progress can be achieved with real money I hate pay to win makes everything pointless
Yes, it's possible to buy descendants outright, but they are effectively useless until you play with them to level them up and collect all the mods that need investment to make them any good. It's more a system where you can pick your character to play and grind the game with.
well i still play but i thinking of leaving because very sad optimization Ines new descendend skills its so laggy drop from 130 fps too 40 fps then u use her ulty and i already done everything in that game even unlock cores on weopons i always using
